I got a good chuckle out of that.

My wife would still be running. I am periodically woken up at odd hours to rid the house of pests. The upside of finding a spider in the bed would be the fact that I would never have worry about her stealing the covers or sleeping in the middle of the bed. She would never get into the bed again.

Yeah, that is the big point that confuses me, my entire family has phones, unlimited texting, unlimited data and 300 minutes a piece, for $75. That is less than most folks pay for one phone, much less three. Anymore, I don't even talk on the phone unless it is work related, and them damn buggers gave me one of their evil phones for that reason alone. I keep nagging my wife, I don't understand why we have a home phone, but she demands it, even if it is VOIP through Time Warner.

Virgin Mobile supports the iPhone, without hacking it, and has a much better data plan (unlimited text, unlimited data though it is throttled with 300 minutes a month for $30.) Granted, you have to buy one of their iPhones (I think.) I have been using Virgin for over a decade, and I couldn't imagine paying more. I currently have an Android powered phone and I am grandfathered in at a lower rate. As for customer service, I don't have a clue, I have handled all of my needs through their website and myself, for at least half a dozen phone changes in the last decade. They run on Sprint's network.

Good point, but your searching skills are lacking. Three posts below you: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/69126-unexpected-find-in-gun-safe-he-ordered-online/

I would tread lightly. I think Walt is going to kill Jesse.

I have been PC gaming for a couple of decades now, with the game installed. The load time is still horrendous, you still have to connect to a server, etc... I don't see how the XBOX One would suddenly revolutionize that and make everything instant, regardless of what they 'claim.' As it sits, my XBOX 360 always has me logged in, that adds maybe three seconds to my boot time. I don't see that as a down side. So if I insert a game and go that route, instead of going through the home page, I might save fifteen seconds. Even with the games I have installed on the HDD it is still a ~one minute or longer boottime, comparable to games read off the disk. Cartridges with their extremely limited space are the only media I can recall in my three decades plus of gaming that have a shorter boot/load time. Though to be honest, I don't really have a horse in this race, as I have mentioned in another thread regarding this topic, I will wait until the public has decided a victor (~two years) before I pick my next console, as I did last generation. I guess that is one benefit of being old, I don't have a yearning desire to have the latest and greatest the day it comes out.

The Kinect requirement, Mandatory Internet and no used games are all gone. It was as stupid move that would have killed the industry. They realized that.

The Curse was filmed there. The house was still standing till fifteen or so years ago when the serial arson burnt it down.

I bought State of Decay, which was the first arcade game I bought after years of having XBOX Live Gold. SoD was freaking awesome, and it led me to realize that maybe some of the Arcade Games might be good. My daughter convinced me to get Minecraft, but after that, I am not sure what else is left in life. Mine, and craft. Forever.
-
I saw that, I couldn't decide if the game was worth it though. Ever since I bought Minecraft my daughter hasn't let me touch the XBOX again.

Hell my wife told me I wasn't allowed to buy another pair after she saw what I paid for them.
-
I just don't buy new boots. I have been wearing the same old pair of Ariats for many years now. I reckon I will have to get them resoled eventually, but I can't see the bottoms of my feet, yet.

The judge was wrong, plain and simple. While her heart may have been in the right place, it was not her job. Her job was to decide a last name. This is a blatant violation of the First Amendment, as well as a lack of separation of Church and State, as the judge clearly made her decision based on religious principle. Ad mentioned in another thread, I have a unique middle name. Not my first, by my middle. B. The letter. It isn't short for anything, it is just B. I can remember a time or two that I have had a headache over it, but overall, it is just something that makes me different from day one. I wanted the same for my daughter. As such her middle name is unique as well. She was named after a character from a book, who also happens to be a D&D Deity. Possibly even an evil one. Not my favorite character, but an important one with what I thought was a beautiful and powerful name. From a set of books that inspired a love of reading that lasts to this day. Is she gonna catch hell for it as she gets older? I don't know. In an age of Lawondadonnas and Anakin I think that a child with a middle name of Takhisis will be fine. At least my family had the foresight to have fun with the middle name.

The first quote you used was from "...cab driver Adam Bednar... ..."I thought she was drugged. I thought she was on bath salts, too much meth, something,†said Bednar..." When the cop showed up, that was the information he had to go on, as that was the only witness.
-
Reading comprehension is important. There was one cop, and one cabbie. The cabbie was quoted, not the cop. I have purposely stayed out of this discussion. A very close friend of mine who was a cop was struck and killed by a car less than a month ago on an interstate when responding to a call. I personally think there are a lot of folks in this thread that are talking out of their asses from the comfort of their chairs at home. Pretty easy to do. There was nothing wrong with what I read in the article, just a lot of folks here that want to get riled up over nothing. Where were the parents? Why weren't they there if their child had the mind of a three year old? When my daughter was three I knew where she was at all times. Even now that she isn't, I still do. I am a parent, that is my job. The cop was to serve and protect, the cop showed up and protected the little girl from getting hit by a car. Case closed. Simple as that.

They couldn't make a decision on the last name from what I read, not the first.

It can be if they ship it to an FFL in your state. There are NO Private FTF sales allowed across state lines, long gun or handgun. If you buy private across lines, it has to be shipped to an FFL in your state, handgun or long gun.
-
No to private sales, long gun or handgun. Period. Long guns for an FFL, with a background check, you can take it home that day, this is only legal in some states, not all. As such some FFLs won't even bother and will tell you no straight up. Handguns you can buy, but it has to be shipped to an FFL in your state for you to take the background check. This was covered, but I wanted to cover a few scenarios that were kinda glossed over.

Most bars I have been to have a dress code. Some are simple, no baggy clothes, pull up your pants. Some are more complex, your shirt has to have a collar. Some require a suit. It is all about the atmosphere you want to project.

I would be scared of some of the stuff we would see if they were as common here in the states. Some of that crap straight up scared me though.

There are several variations of my last name, and I am pretty sure I know where if not the when of it getting started. My father's family was heavy into genealogy. Most Mormons are. I haven't seen the book in a while, but I am pretty sure they had our name traced back a handful of hundred of years, even had a nifty coat of arms or some crap in there. As for middle names, I got cheated on mine too. The family initials for a firstborn male go back for generations on my paternal side, so I got the same as my father, and his father before him, and his father before him, etc... Seems they ran out of names at some point, cause all I got for a middle name was B. That has caused me a lot of grief. "B, just B, not an initial, no period, just the letter B. That is my middle name. No, it isn't short for Bob, yes, I go by Bob, but that is cause my name is Robert. No, the B is just a B, not short for Bob. No, I am not lying to you..."

Just because they are high quality doesn't mean they aren't clones. The original design was copied, by reputable companies making a product that rivals the original, but they are still clones. Wilsons and Kimbers are still clones of Colt's 1911. But I understand what you mean, as clone usually implies something of dubious quality.
-
I think the Sphinx and a couple other that are Sphinx clones are generally considered better than the CZ. The price will reflect that, if you can find one. The EAA (depending) are more than acceptable. I know there were some quality issues with some of the earlier 10mm slide assemblies. I have a Jericho Compact (Baby Eagle) which is a clone of the Tanfoglio. It is a very accurate, light recoiling gun for something the size of a Glock 19. I like my Jericho, and carry it often, but it won't supplant my Glock 19 as my main carry. The Glock is lighter, carries better, has a higher capacity and no manual safety lever to worry with.
