  1. To be fair, have you ever had to clean a restroom after someone who isn't your child defecated in the floor and then used said feces to paint the walls? That takes a strong stomach and some bravery. I am not sure I have the fortitude to be a janitor personally.
  2. My wife made the exact same argument, and it is a good one. However I am stubborn old bastard. I have caught every episode of SOA on the first airing for the last six seasons. I don't see a point to ruining a good thing now. My understanding is that Amazon and iTunes run a day or two behind. So far SOA is the only show that I can't wait to watch on DVR. And with the last season coming, and half a dozen Sons left to die, I want to see it as it happens.
  3. I haven't read all of this. Too much bickering and whining.   I just got home from vacation. On that vacation, the widow of a close friend spread his ashes over the mountains of East Tennessee. She is a young widow because her husband was doing his job to keep the people travelling through Jackson Mississippi safe. As he was putting a gas grill someone had dropped on the interstate into his cruiser, he was struck and killed by an inattentive driver.    I will say this, there ain't a lot of a chance that I could get killed in a similar fashion doing my job. Though anything is possible.   What I do have to say is a simple 'Thank You,' to anyone and everyone who does something to put someone else above themselves. No matter the profession.
  4. My wife has suggested we dump cable. We currently have an RCA set top streamer that does Netflix, etc... on the bedroom TV. I have an XBOX on the main TV that streams anything.    After the SOA finale later this year, I may go that route.
  5. I am thinking it was done tongue in cheek, that or those on campus LARPers are getting out of control.
  6. Yeah, my line of thinking is going the same way.
  7. Well, that made up for the negative emotion of last episode.
  8. I am breaking them in for you.   I guess that would technically mean they aren't new anymore, wouldn't it? I am sorry.
  9. Took the wife out for our anniversary dinner. Went to Cabelas, then bought everyone a new pair of shoes.
  10. When I was growing up I had two and a half acres on the side of a mountain to mow.   My mother bought me a self propelled mower. When I ran over a rock and warped the shaft, she bought me a reel push mower.   I haven't said a kind word to that evil woman in twenty years.   And neither have I mowed a lawn again since.
  11. My life hasn't been the same since Bandit came home. Technically Bandit and my daughter are supposed to be the pair, but there is no question about who Bandit accepts as master.   Good looking pup.
  12. I think this entire season was a build up to this episode. Lizzie fed the walkers and had her 'pet' walker Nick, from the beginning of the season. Carol killed Karen and David. She killed Lizzie and Mika's father not long after that. Every time Lizzie and Mika have been on the screen, it was building up to this episode. It was why I was not surprised, shocked maybe, but not surprised, when it all went down.   It was to show the ambiguity of the world that they now live in, a world that Carol understands. It goes back to Sophia being killed, and what it takes to survive in this new world without mental healthcare or laws. You had a mentally unstable individual who was dangerous. Carol solved it. Same as when she was attempting to save the group from the potential plague.    The show may have a loose grasp on science, and it may play games with sticking to it's guns, but it has a habit of creating interesting moral situations from which to show character development. So far I feel that Daryl and Carol are two of the strongest characters on the show. Not from a 'badass' point of view, but in the terms to which the writers have decided to fill out their background, and show their personal growth through the post apocalypse world. Carl is still a whiny kid, Rick is still the hero archetype. Carol went from meek abused housewife to alpha survivor with a clear survival compass and Daryl went from white ghetto trash to ZPAW Robin Hood.   Think about the other main characters, we know nothing about Glenn or Maggie preZPAW, nothing about Beth, Tyrese or  Sasha. We have been given a brief glimpse of Michonne and Bob has stated that he was a medic in the Army. That is it. However we have had it clearly spelled out for us who Rick, Daryl and Carol are.   That is one reason I am pretty confident that those three characters will make it, at least to the end of the season.    Then again, maybe the reason we know it all is cause they are gonna die. After all, we knew Hershel's background pretty well too.
  13. Posted about a week ago.   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/76980-this-young-mans-future-is-destroyed-because-of-one-thing/
  14. My daughter and I watch MLP:FiM all the time.   Rainbow Dash is our favorite character. It is a running joke among my friends that I only bought a Mustang because I am a Brony.   Now, I have a minor luxury in this department as I have a little girl, and I know that things will change dramatically in a few years. But she dresses up as a Ninja Turtle and Darth Vader for Halloween and has a massive NERF sword collection. It is the exact same situation as this little boy carrying a Rainbow Dash backpack but in reverse. There isn't a single father here that will call foul when I take my daughter to the range where she can outshoot adults with her own gun, cause that is what she likes doing.    But let a little boy take a Rainbow Dash backpack to school...   IMO this is all part of a dress code, which the reason behind them is no distractions and no bullying. What were the coats a few years back, kids would literally kill one another over them? Or the shoes? I would hate to think that I sent my kid to school with a pair of Jordans and she got killed for them. On the same thought, I would hate to send her to school with the Pro Wings that got me teased when I was a kid. But hey, teasing is what kids do.   I think it is shit that this kid got bullied for his backpack. I think it is shit that the school banned his backpack. But, this is the world we live in, and as long as the majority allows this to happen, it will only get worse.
  15. Guess what I drive.
  16. I think it was very similar, yes.
  17. I had a strong suspicion that was going to go down. I kinds wish it hadn't.
  18. It was a public VoTech. I don't know if they still do it this way, but when I was in High School you could opt out of the college track and go VoTech where you would learn real world skills instead of algebra. Shop, welding, woodworking, etc...
  19. Don't have to have a warrant, it states right there in the school handbook (most likely) that if he parks on the property his vehicles is subject to random searches.
  20. I have a feeling that for every "I won't buy from Bud's" post in this thread they will have twenty in store customers that hadn't bought from them in the past.   Bud's won't be hurting. They may do a lot of internet business. But every time I have been in their store it is packed. I have a feeling that the brick and mortar side of the business does really well too.   I also find it hilarious for the amount of chest thumping American Pride we have here that folks are so loathe to pay taxes, yet I am certain you spew venom out the other side of your mouth about lazy welfare recipients who don't pay taxes.
  21. It has been 8 years or so since I was into it, but TM was still big back then too.
  22. A map.
  23. I knew when we say Jeff Kober a few episodes ago that he would be a reoccurring character.
  24. You know, I am certain that at many times in my life stupid things have come out of my mouth. God knows I have the scars to prove it.   That is why I have just learned to smile, nod and roll with it.
  25. I was bored with the episode, it took too long to get the minor bit of character development we got out of it. However the wrap up at the end and the arson of the liquorshack was worthwhile.
