  1. Had my license suspended for not paying a speeding ticket. 55 in a 45 in good old Englewood.   Never had a warrant issued. Had my license suspended. I haven't EVER heard of a warrant for a speeding ticket, but I have heard of quite a bit of license suspensions.
  2. But you are looking at it all wrong.   My Fiesta gets 46 MPG real world, not EPA, 46MPG with me driving it down the road. My Shadow got 50MPG real world, not EPA. Me riding down the road.   My Fiesta can fit four people. My Shadow could only fit two. That means in a pinching and going scenario, I am getting 188MPG/P in my loaded Fiesta and only 100MPG/P on my Shadow.   Now, since most Americans only drive with one person per vehicle, that is not as relevant a point as it could be, but it is still something not to be overlooked.
  3. Real world range of 200 miles would be more than enough on a charge. Even for a long commute, you would be hard pressed to do more than that in a day. For touring, obviously an electric bike would be out of the question, unless you were hot swapping like you can with the Zero.     I am a gear head. I like driving. I like tinkering.   But I am being realistic here. I want to continue to know this pleasure. I want my daughter, and her children to know what it is like to drive or ride through the mountains. I want to do it without hiding a Red Barchetta in a barn so they can come out on the weekends.   Fossil fuels are getting too expensive, and they won't last forever. If we can embrace and support innovation in alternate fuels, alternate energy sources, there is a chance that we can still have user operated mechanical vehicles in the future, and not all mass transportation.   Electric vehicles are today's ticket to tomorrow, and as the technology becomes adopted, it will get better. Just like the automobile always has.   I applaud H-D for doing this. I applaud Elon Musk for releasing his patents. I hope that others can follow their lead and bring real change, and not just a show pony to the yard.
  4. Harley is introducing 500cc water cooled bikes, too. Electric bikes have been around, but now they have a bit of legitimacy.     I think this is exactly what it would take to bring Harley Davidson into the twenty-first century.   There are a lot of cats that want to ride something reliable, nice, good looking, and the brand is less important than the mission. H-D isn't the largest manufacturer in the world, Honda is. Harley just has some of the most closed minded fan bois, just like the Glock or 1911 or Sig mindset that nothing else is good enough.   Harley is a brand, not a bike.   The Livewire might be enough to make them a bike again.   Or at least push someone else to make a better one, which is a nice side effect of innovation.
  5. My wife is in retail for the Walmart for folks that are too good for Walmart (Target) and that is it in a nutshell. Sales are down all across the board in nearly all departments.   Even in my business we are having soft numbers, and that is not something that normally comes with summer. We have been steadily thrumming along through the whole latest recession, so I am not that worried, but I am not impressed with the numbers I am seeing right now.   That was why we saw the biggest push ever for Father's Day this year.
  6. I fail to see how the entire restaurant chain, that is actively investigating and promising action should be boycotted.   The manager or employee that did this, yes, they should be fired at a minimum.   However, it would be like holding your entire company accountable because one of your installers said/did something that offended me, instead allowing you as the employer to deal with the offending employee.
  7. Sharp.   My CZ clone (Jericho) is probably my favorite shooting pistol.
  8. You aren't the only one with an old car.   If you like the six, keep the six.   I would drop a SBC in since they are a dime a dozen.   If you like purple, paint it purple, it is your car.   That is the neat thing about the car hobby, it is yours, you don't have to build it for anyone else but you.
  9. How do you like the Triage? I am interested in one, but I can't decide if the $100 premium for the auto version is worth it.
  10. Bandit hates the water as well.
  11. I am a simple guy, if I am going out to eat, and I want to spend a penny, I go to Texas Roadhouse. Every time. I have eaten steak all over the country and Texas Roadhouse is the most consistent 'best' steak. I don't even bother looking anymore, if I want steak, I find a Texas Roadhouse wherever I am in.   My brother, however likes to eat at different places. Puleo's was one that he liked to mix it up with. He loves their prime rib. So every couple of months I would find my backside warming a seat at their Cedar Bluff location. Never had a complaint, was rather fond of their Shrimp and Grits, as mentioned a time or two above.
  12. I read an article this morning about this, they aren't pushing it as a bulletproof blanket, they are pushing it for tornado protection. The company is based in an area that was hit by a tornado that killed several children at the school as they didn't have a shelter.   They made the decision to make it out of ballistic material.     Being that I have a child in school, and live in a tornado area, I think this is a better solution than pretending there is nothing we can do and run around screaming.
  13. Puleo's was always a good place. I didn't realize I missed it unitl now.

I would just ensure that when you get it transferred that it is marked as 'other.' If they see the stock, they may try to transfer it as a rifle.   Another solution would be to buy a stripped lower and build it yourself. While more complicated, it is often cheaper.
  15. The only time Bandit barks is when kids run through the back yard and jump the fence, or someone walks down the breezeway.   If she is outside, on the leash with me, she won't bark at anything. Including dogs barking at her. As obviously, the pack leader is there, and is already aware of any minute detail she could pickup.
  16. I feel bad reading all of this.   I have a dog that barks.   However I feel better knowing that apparently I am one of the only folks that actually cares. When Bandit barks, I tell her to stop. She stops. I don't let her bark longer than a minute without correcting the issue.

    Airsoft

I have a dozen or so guns laying around from many years ago. I got into it about ten years ago. I haven't touched them in about eight years.   I have several AEGs, a GBB pistol and some springers.   If I weren't worried about the blow back, I would probably just give them to some neighborhood kids to play with.
  18. The one on the left is a Jericho Compact with a custom holster made by gjohnsoniv and the one on the right is a Glock 19 in a Bianchi Carrylok. And it would appear that my cell flash really made for a rough picture.
  19. I have been thinking about that pizza Papa John's has, the Greek Pizza or what not. Mmmm.
  20. I won't lie, I use the oven for everything. From Hot Pockets to burritos.   Yes it is better.
  21. I clean my ears with it too.     I have gotten soft lately, I only use a little mini stockman as my EDC. I used a Benchmade Type 44 for ten years give or take. However after I got an office job, it looked odd for a man in a shirt and tie to whip something like that out. Well, and not to mention that until next month, it was illegal in TN.   But not Kentucky.
  22. Before I am lynched for condoning this, I am not at all saying this is groovy. I own my routers and modems.   All I am doing is trying to point out that this isn't opening your WiFi to the unwashed heathen masses who will then use it to download copies of the Anarchist Cookbook and child porn while pretending to be you from the comfort of their rusted out van in your driveway.  You aren't paying for them to use it, they are a paying customer already, limited to their own data cap, not yours. The OP even laments about how he as a paying customer can go and access free WiFi around town as a customer, yet doesn't draw the identical conclusion that he is 'stealing' what someone else has paid for. He isn't, he paid for that right as a customer of Comcast. Same as all the other folks that will be able to access the public WiFi if you choose not to have it turned off.   I don't think this is groovy, and I don't like being told that I have to share. However, as pointed out from a technological standpoint, if a modem and router is capable of running 1,000mbps and you are being limited by your ISP to 100mbps, then it in theory shouldn't hinder your broadband if the ISP is allowing two distinct networks to run at 100mbps.     But the solution to this is simple, buy your own modem and/router and become the admin of your own network. it is simple common sense to be honest that is the easiest way to ensure that you are the only person to have access to your network, I mean, how many folsk honestly leave their WiFi set up as the cabel tech leaves it?  I have fits when I check the available WiFi in an area and they are all named 2WIREXXX in my area. There are honestly two networks that appear in my general vicinity that are not as set by the tech, and one of them is mine.
  23. My nails would be filthy if I didn't clean under them.
  24. Is no one researching this, or even reading the posts before posting their tin foil panic prone opinions?   It isn't 'open to anyone,' you still have to be a Comcast customer to use it, you have to log in with your Comcast credentials to access the internet. Anyone with a WiFi card can find a signal, whether it is encrypted or not, having a 'public' signal doesn't advertise your private WiFi, having WiFi period advertises you WiFi.
  25. While you are right on most of it, the public SSID will not count against your data. I am pretty sure that was one of the big things they were pusing when they said they were going to start this. You must log in to the public SSID with your Comcast credentials, even though it is public access. The data usage will then be accumulated against the user's account, not the router renter/owner's account.       I understand your frustration, but get the facts right before you have a panic attack.   Yes, two users will leach bandwidth, but not data caps.         A quick google turned up mulitiple articles related to this:   http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-06-11/comcast-is-turning-homes-into-public-wi-fi-hotspots   http://stopthecap.com/2014/03/27/comcast-hotspot-wi-fi-usage-will-be-tied-back-to-customers-broadband-account/
