  1. I had a road rage incident once, told the dispatcher that I was stopping my car because I had reached my destination, that I was armed, and as I had a small child with me, I was in fear for her life.   They had a cruiser there before I found a parking spot.
  2. I am assuming he means a jacked up truck with fancy shiny wheels and stickers all over it. The kind of truck you see young guys driving that will never get to see offroad. They are normally diesel and almost always have a smoke stack, even if they aren't an oil burner.   They are easiest to spot when accelerating from a full stop. Well, not the truck, but the massive black cloud of smoke.   I am personally a fan of an ugly beat up truck, you can look at it and tell that it has worked and done fun stuff. I have never cared for a pretty truck.         However, that is the great thing about cars and trucks (I am a huge gear head and I doubt most of you would like my 'hot rod';) you don't have to build them for other folks, you build what you like and have fun with.
  3. Anyone else watching this show on WGN?   I am liking it. I have always been fascinated by the Manhattan Project.
  4. My wife won't let me turn the landline off. That means we have four phone lines, and after we get our daughter a phone, we will have five.   I have yet to understand why I have a landline. Other than the NON STOP bill collectors calling for someone who I don't know, and have never known, I don't use it. What bothers me the most is that I have had that number for three years now, why are they still calling for someone else?
  5. "And I would like to conclude my submission for 'Dumbest Criminal of the Week' with my photo..."
  6. Never concerned me.

    Glock 19

I have a lot of guns I like, but only two that I would count as my favorite, won't part with either unless they are to be heirlooms, one is my Glock 19, the other is my Rossi Overlander Coach Gun.
  8. My Mustang gets her oil changed every 10k, Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. Ford Recommended intervals (and the dash says so too.) The dealer however thinks I should come see them every 3k.     Yeah...     I change my own oil. Six quarts of Mobil 1 5w-20 with an STP filter. Costs me $35 and twenty minutes of my time. I still have all my 'free' oil changes from when I bought my car.   I like the interval and protection afforded with the full synthetic. And changing it myself negates most costs, it is $10 difference than blend.
  9. I pay $25 a month for 300 minutes of talk, and unlimited text and data on Virgin. The plan costs $35 now, but as long as I stay with a 3G smartphone, I stay at $25.   I have been on Virgin Mobile for almost fifteen years, and I can't imagine going elsewhere.
  10. Wow, how would you not notice that before shooting it?   I got a BCG from PSA a handful of years back that had the logo on a little crooked. Otherwise it was, and is, still a perfectly functioning part. I kinda like the crooked look to it.   Granted it came with a hammer forged FN barrelled upper, or whatever it was they used to push. I didn't feel like waiting the month to get it exchanged. It has ~1000 rounds through it with no problems.
  11. An emptier wallet.   If you have to spend the money, spend it on ammo.
  12. I wonder if this will change the opinion of any of the folks that got all bent out of shape at Target?   They only requested, they don't have an actual rule regarding it.   I shop at Walmart, I shop where things are cheap and it is easy to me. I try not to let my politics flavour the opinions others might have on me, and I try not to allow someone else's politics to flavour my opinion of them. So long as we can all go our own separate ways without conflict.
  13. I like it.   I really like how your work has evolved and refined since you began.
  14. I am with Sam on his opinion of what happened.   Smoke isn't to blame here. The idiot that got out of his car is.
  15. I carry a striker fired semi-auto, but I own several DA/SA semi-autos.   I like the consistency of carrying a striker fired, that is the same on shot one, to shot sixteen.   At the range I like a single action.   But I am a sucker for a single action revolver too.
  16. For these times, I have a Bandit.   Fifty pounds of overeager mostly black Lab.   If it crawls, skitters, flies or flutters, she eats it.   She also thinks she is part cat, she will toss it through the air, roll on the ground with it, bat it, paw at it and finally, and thankfully leaving little to no clean-up, she eats it.   Last night a house spider about the size of my daughter's hand came in through the back door when Bandit went out. Bandit didn't miss a beat, it was like watching an acrobat catch a grenade, she dove, rolled, tossed and chomped. And that was the end of that spider.   She saves me a lot of hassle around the house, as both of my women folk are incapacitated by the sight of arachnids. Until recently I would use my 'spider removal unit' (a Pringles Can) to relocate said spider to the outdoors. I have never believed in killing a spider if I could easily relocate it. However, I have no qualms about allowing my dog to eat them. It is natures way.
  17. I had issues with Enterprise. Several years ago my wife's car was hit and totalled. The other driver's insurance paid for the rental, but Enterprise strong armed me into $100 for a week's worth of insurance. The car was good, drove it, turned it back in and life went on.   Six months later they hit my debit card (that they HAD to have, I couldn't have the car without it, I paid cash for the insurance) for $400 for the rental. They never called, never said a word, they just charged me. Turns out the other woman's insurance never paid the invoice, so Enterprise just charged me.   It took me nearly two weeks to get it fixed, after being hung up on multiple times by the local agent.   I will NEVER use Enterprise again, nor recommend them.
  18. That car my daughter helps me work on so she can drive it one day is a heap compared to that.
  19. Jerry Ahern told me I want one of those...
  20. I hope you get out now.   I worry you won't.   You are being played, and so is the other guy. And probably another one, at the least.   Even if she is your meal ticket, this is a worthy event to go crying home to mommy and daddy to lick your wounds, a best friend's couch, anywhere but where you are.   I don't have a horse in the race. But crazy is easy to spot, and in this case she is wearing a bright neon shirt to say so. You know what you need to do OP, you didn't need us to tell you. But if us telling you makes it easier, so be it.
  21.   Yeah, there are a few of us here that would already be seated in the theatre.
  22. I like it.   I have been toying with the idea of getting another pump shotgun. I think this could be it.
  23. I hope my wife can meet a Frank Feldman if anything happens to me, cause I sure ain't him.

    Coach gun

I have a Rossi Overland that you would have to pry from my cold dead fingers. It has been in the family since the early seventies, and it will continue to be passed on as an heirloom. It has served as primary HD since it came to the family, and it still serves that purpose today.    I know that there are 'better' guns for a given purpose, but there are few things that ooze awesomeness the way double triggers and exposed hammers do on a handy little shotgun.       If you want one, you want one, and the want will outweigh the cons, but there are cons. It can be slow to reload, it only holds two rounds, and it will kick like a mule. However, they point naturally, are easy to reload, easy to fire, easy to carry around through nearly anything and are generally rather fondly thought of.   While the Rossi may be considered on the lower end of the price scale, good luck finding one, and if you do, snap it up. Those of us that have them aren't really keen on the idea of coming up off of them.

    $40K TV

Technology has to start somewhere when it is new to the market. Give it a few years and it will be affordable.   I paid $500 for a $2000 Sony Bravia on clearance because it was a year old model. Great television, no way I would have paid $2k for it, or any television.
