I forgot that one, it existed back in my day. -
Metro Nashville Public Schools is eliminating Algebra and Geometry.
Murgatroy replied to JohnC's topic in General Chat
I am going to say I believe it is the same. They are changing the name so there is a more linear progression to the classes. Back in the days when I was in school we had Math Tech, Advanced Math Tech, Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra and then Physics. I just see this as eliminating three courses, consolidated and renaming. I don't think the sky is falling anymore than it already is. For the record my daughter will be going to private school as soon as she is done with elementary school. -

Two minutes to midnight...

Oh, I haven't held a wheel in years. I sit in a big office and tell everyone else what to do. I am in the beverage industry on the transportation side. I am not saying we are recession proof, but Americans like their drinks.

We have a bit in common then, I am at the management phase.

I have run a couple of the practice tests, my understanding is that the practice test takes it's questions from the exact same pool of 300 questions the test comes from, so if you 'learn' though you are golden. I have done a bit of research, but not extensive. I have CBs in most of my cars, I work in the transportation industry. It is almost disheartening anymore turning it on and listening to children that had no mother to raise them...

I have thought about picking up a hand held Boefang or whatever the brand name is and getting my Technician's License, but I haven't found anyone local that is interested or into it, so I never really did it.

I like it. I like the painted grips too, looks better than a stipple job, and it is reversible if you want to sell it down the road.

White Christians commit plenty of terrorist acts too. As a matter of fact the record for most deaths at a school killing in the United States is still attributed to a white 55 year old school board treasurer. There is evil in the whole world. No matter who or what, or what isn't your god. This country was founded on the ideal of freedom, and with freedom comes danger. That is the cost. Statistics clearly show that violent crime is on the overall downstroke. I fully believe that this is due to law abiding citizens carrying guns. There always have been, and always will be thugs who don't want to follow the rules. Again, no matter the skin tone, or socioeconomic background. A criminal is a criminal. Whether he is motivated by god, drugs or greed. One thing I have learned in my life though, standing a round wringing my hands and working myself into a frenzy doesn't do anyone any good. I know several Muslims, I currently work with a gentleman in a professional setting. He is calm, succinct, and good about his job. As a matter of fact one of the reasons that he and I work together, and well I might add, is that no one else in the office will even talk to him. I was even approached by a coworker and asked something that floored me, 'What if he cuts your head off?' It dumbfounds me that people can be so ignorant in such a connected world. When all the information of the world is at your fingertips, why are we more hateful and close-minded now than we have ever been? Now, if I do get my head cut-off, you can all tell me I was wrong.

I certainly hope so, no one can spell that bad for that long without using numbers for the words unless it is on purpose. The fact that constipating was spelled correct is a big tip off to the fact it is fake.

I haven't shot one, but I have handled a couple at Cabelas, both the V1 and V2. They are solid and I wouldn't be ashamed to own one.

HS Girls' Basketball Coach Suspended After 161-2 Victory
Murgatroy replied to gun sane's topic in General Chat
The losing coach needs to accept that some things in life just won't go his way. The winning coach pulled his starters, what more did the State of California expect him to do, start making baskets for the opposing team? My daughter starts competitive league soccer this year. This is her fourth year playing. If her team gets steamrolled badly like this, I hope that she, and her coach are smart enough to use it as a learning experience to see where they went wrong, and improve upon that. Without whining about life being unfair. -
Magpul is getting into the Glock magazine business
Murgatroy replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I guess KCI will have to give their magazines away now. -
Got some bright dogs that have to be sprayed two or three times to learn their lesson... I had a dog like that as a kid. If it moved, he chased it. If he caught it, he whined cause he didn't know what to do with it. Skwirrls were his favorite, cause they would go to the trees.

In his slight defense he is British, and most of them don't understand gun rights, since they gave theirs up a long time ago. On the other hand, I don't care what an actor says, they aren't paid to give me their opinions, they are paid to make me believe for two hours or less that they ARE that character on my screen. Liam Neeson can do that, and regardless of his ignorant opinion, I suppose he still will.

Small displacement turbo engines are the future. They were the way of the future twenty years ago, but domestic makers took longer. Ford has finally embraced this and made it a mission statement. Even the Expedition is 3.5 Ecoboost, only. The F150's top engine is a 3.5 Ecoboost. Turn up the boost, tune it and you are talking 500 WHP with little modifications. A turbo motor is A LOT easier to get power out of than a naturally aspirated engine. Ford wants to play with the world market, as a world leader. I expect to see half liter a cylinder displacements and turbos. The Focus, Fusion, Escape, etc... already have the 2.0 Ecoboost four. That engine will be the future of Ford, and the 3.5 Ecoboost will be their performance engine. I don't see the V8 going anywhere soon, but it will. The only people still clamoring for it are gearheads who will want to boost it anyways, or the Luddites that can't grasp the idea of an engine with less than eight cylinders being worth a hoot. Honda crossed the 100HP per liter threshold on a naturally aspirate engine more than ten years ago. By that measure the Coyote should be easily making 500HP right now. The other thing to consider is that a paper rating is such a narrow view of an engine. The torque curve, the powerband the 'useable' power is what is most important, not a top number that is only usable when you are driving it like it is stolen. There are also Federal Mandates that say cars have to get 50MPG avg in like five years. A turbo gets a lot better economy out of the same power rating. Now, I have played Devil's Advocate, though I do believe the above and support it. HOWEVER, the sound of a nice V8 with a dual exhaust and a healthy cam makes me weak at the knees. I don't care if modern 4 cylinders make more power than an old SBC, those things sound so sweet when you put a big cam and headers in/on them.

I am sorry you see it as belittling. That was not my goal nor intent. My goal was to impart some wisdom. Hate serves no one. When you take rights away from someone, you take them away from everyone. I personally think that there are too many laws, not as if we follow all of them anyways.
-
You seem to harbor a lot of misunderstanding and thus hate. Calm down, take one step at a time and realize that EVERYONE has the same rights that you do.
-
No they wouldn't. And they wouldn't be a witness against the suspect either if they were asked.

Can I get those three minutes of my life back please? There was really nothing to see in that video.

And I could read it the first time I saw it, fifteen years ago. It is pretty amazing though.
