The kid in that video needs practice. I have been working Bali-Song knives for as long as I can remember. A character in a book series I read as a kid carried one and had to have one. I started out with the cheap $10 flea market knives before moving on the Benchmade I mentioned above. The difference between a cheap knife and an expensive knife made a world of difference. I can work the knife either hand and I know several different patterns. While I originally bought into the whole butterfly knife idea cause it was cool, after using one as an EDC for twenty years, I find it to be a very versatile tool. It can be used to strip wire, nearly any gauge, in a pinch it can work as pliers, a quality knife can be used successfully as a pry bar and a hammer. That is of course in addition to mundane chores a knife is useful for as well. There is also the added benefit of the tell-tale "click-clack" that may or may not dissuade an attacker. Again, I did stop carrying it. I now carry a very unassuming canoe folder. It was not due to legal reasons. It was more a wardrobe change. I wear khakis to work now, and the knife is too heavy in the pocket. It also has a habit of wearing a hole in the back pocket. I carry it upright, next to my wallet and it would wear a hole in the bottom. I do however believe that a bali-song falls into the 'Inertia Operated' category rather plainly. My Benchmade:

Florida? Isn't that the Southern Tip of Michigan?

I was less than impressed with last night's episode. It felt kinda like a recanting to a degree. Not that I thought Mags was really out of the business, but that after cutting Dickie off, and throwing him to Raylan, she comes back to him and acts like it was her plan all along. The characters are right to a degree, but the writing felt a little lackluster to me. Boyd is still my favorite character, and I really like the turn Ava has taken I was impressed with what she had to say to Arlo at the house after what happened. I don't like Winona that much. I feel like her storyline detracts from the over all feel of the show. I kinda wish that some of the other marshall's were more heavily involved, I like their characters and don't feel that they are being fleshed out that much. However, all and all I am impressed with the show and the less than heavy bias with which it represents us hill folks. It is pretty good and mostly accurate.

I have a Heritage Rough Rider and I have to second the opinions here, it is a solid piece. I miss my Ruger Single Six that I grew up with, but at half the price, the Rough Rider is alright.

That was his best role. He has been in a couple of films lately. The Salton Sea was pretty good.

Nice. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I have a Benchmade Bali-Song that I bought years ago. It has the tanto half serrated blade. I have carried it for years, but I have recently stopped.

They had them in Dallas. I was down there for business a few weeks ago, they had them there.

They don't carry them at Sevierville either.

Water cooled Volkswagens will have lots of parts out there, but I am not even sure where to begin. There is a tuner here in Knoxville that is doing very well for himself. Matt Ford automotive, but that might be a little bit of a drive. I got into imports a while ago and have been working on Toyotas, Celicas specifically. If you find a decent water cooled VW forum they will be able to point you toward brand specific vendors. It is difficult for folks in the US to find dedicated parts suppliers for imports, that is unless you drive a Honda. But who wants to drive a Honda? When you are searching for a VW site, don't make the mistake of going to an air cooled site, there is a huge divide between the air cooled guys and the water cooled guys. I don't quite get it, but it is almost as severe and violent as the import/domestic guys. I run pretty much anything and everything, currently owning old American Iron as well as my rice burners. I have never owned a water cooled VW, but I have owned more than my fair share of air cooled. I have a buddy that runs an R32 and he frequents VWVortex.com. Other than that, I couldn't tell you a think about them, but it might be a decent place to start.

From the makers of the Mini-Cannon comes the Mini-Crossbow

I want one. I could do without the solid gold and silver though. -
I have sworn by Summit Racing for years. They have helped me build more than a few cars. Jegs is also another good one. As far as brick and mortar shops out there, I have no clue. I have also found a few good things on eBay. What are you building?

It might snow once a year and stick. The rest of the other three snows a year don't lay. We have two seasons here, hot and cold. Other than that, just come out and observe. Keep your opinions to yourself until you understand why we do things the way we do. We move at a different pace out here. I am not trying to be harsh, but I am a little gunshy (pardon the pun) with California folks. I have yet to meet one that can keep their mouth shut. No offense. My family was stationed there when I was a kid. I never really took to it. My sister must have though, she moved back and has been there for almost twenty years. Other than that, if you have intentions of staying long term, realize it becomes a bit addictive and you might not want to leave, that and East Tennessee is the better part of the state.

I am kinda glad the range is normally empty when I get there. I have been lucky I guess. Most of the time when I am there it is folks taking their time and shooting at the long range backstops. I have run into a few idiots at CCA, but that was a while ago, and it was just once. Group of young guys all came in carrying Glocks and got stupid. I left. And that isn't Glock hatred, that is what I carry.

If it isn't hot, $250 is a screaming deal.

Took my HCP there, Rick was great, very approachable, knowledgeable.

Some good stuff this week. I think I like Boyd's character the most. He is more complex than Raylan.

It does look like it is gonna be a wild ride from here out. I am interested to see the context of some of the lines from the previews for the next episodes.

I was loving that. My wife even got a kick out of that. I like the show. It is on television, which means most of it will be hammed up and fake. I know that going in, thus I don't get my panties twisted when they say things in a dumbed down manner for the non-gun-soon-to-be-gun-folks.

Don't forget the Civil Guardia rechambered to 7.62x51 NATO.

Yeah, I heard a quick clip of this yesterday on the radio, and have had issues finding much more than a quick blurb about it. I love how the riots in 'civilized' nations are glossed over.

Pretty eye opening story.

I think I could do $80 without feeling guilty at all.

What is the position for? Loader? Route Driver? Merchandiser? Sales? Each position is a little different for what they are looking for. If it is for driver or loader, wear boots. Steel toe. Otherwise dress nice, slacks, button down. The boots is a big thing. It shows that you will work, and you know how. Just and old habit I have had. If it is for sales or merchandising, you will have to sell them on your customer service, why they want you. Why they have to have you. There are a lot of other positions within a beverage distribution company, and even more if they are a bottler as well. I have no experience with a bottler, all the other positions, yeah. For the record, I don't work for PBG, I work for one of their competitors.

That is what I am saying, it has been modified, to me, it is not worth any amount of money. Honestly I feel that anything over $100 is too much for that gun, unless you really really want it. If it were me, I would wait for a good deal to come along for an unmolested M44.
