  1. As of five days ago, when I did the class, the only information they logged is the final scores. Maybe the class likes to have it on file, but it is not required or filed by the state. Same, they only logged the score, not the gun.
  2. I qualified with my Glock 19. The instructor even made a crack about the fact that no one in the class shot with a .22LR, which it seems is uncommon. You will fire 48 rounds. That is less than a box of target ammo. Shoot what you want, in Tennessee you don't have to carry what you qualify with, however, if you intend to carry the .45, I don't see a reason not to qualify with it. I don't ever pass up a chance to shoot my carry.
  3. I got an Iver Johnson Lil' Champ when I was five. It is pretty much the same thing. It is my daughter's now. I hope to have her out shooting it soon, she is nearly five.
  4. Welcome aboard. I think you would be happier with a Glock 26. Just a hunch...
  5. Was this up at Norris?
  6. I don't have any experience in those Citrix apps. Sounds fun though.

I picked one up a few months ago, on a whim. I used the boxes of .22WMR I had laying around as an excuse. I have shot nearly two boxes of Federal 550 Bulk .22LR through it, and around 200 rounds of .22WMR through it. I love it. It points naturally, has no recoil and hits where you aim. At 10yds I will shoot empty shotgun shell hulls all day with it and love it. It is also easy on the wallet from first purchase and feeding. Where else are you gonna have over a thousand rounds of fun and be into it for less than $300 total investment?
  9. Have a good one man!
  10. I think it is kinda funny though, the ricy wheels you got rid of I am currently using on Chaos. I got them with rubber off of CL for $200, can't beat sharing a lug pattern with the Honda boys.
  11. I will post import pictures, since no one else will. This is 'Chaos' and please for the love of god do not ask how much money I have invested in her. I have more invested in her suspension than I paid for her. Her tires are nearly twice as wide as factory, and as mentioned earlier, there is nothing factory (minus seats, dash etc...) left on her the way Toyota intended. Engine swap, transmission swap, custom intake, exhaust... The list goes on. Sure, she makes a quarter the horsepower of my New Yorker, but she gets four times the mileage, and can take a curve at four times the speed. I will have to dig to find a picture of 'Socrates' my aforementioned `67 New Yorker.
  12. The only odd charges on any of my cards can be directly traced back to my wife.
  13. Will do. We have two meets, one in the Spring, which is our big one, with ~100 cars, and a smaller one in the Fall with ~20 cars. It has been going on for ten years or so now.
  14. I am into cars. Domestic and Import. I have a `67 Chrysler New Yorker, 440ci, all stock. Second owner, been in the family since new. I have had it for around twenty years now. I also have a `90 Toyota Celica that doesn't have anything stock left on it. I have been into cars since I was capable of coherent thought. I run a Celica oriented site as well and host a yearly event up at Deal's Gap.
  15. If you are gonna build an AR-10 you might want to look at a dedicated .22 AR style rifle such as the S&W MP15-22. Two must have .22s in my opinion are the Ruger 10/22 and the Henry .22 Lever Action. Both of which can be had for the ~$200 range if you search.
  16. I theft recovery can also be considered salvage, as well as flood, wreck and others. I have had no issues getting insurance on my rebuilt bike or car. There is no way that the Jeep is worth what he is asking. Period. A Rebuilt vehicle is fine for driving (as long as it has been repaired and inspected properly,) but they are horrible investments. You will not get your money back.
  17. To be honest it is all about the aesthetics to me. I am sure it won't be the only black rifle I buy/build. It will just be a start. However, the XM177E1 style is one I have always liked. I figure why not start there. Next on the list would be an A2 style 20". If it puts holes in paper reliably I will be happy with it.
  18. With the issues I am having from my AK, which seems to be a receiver issue, I am thinking of changing platforms. I have been interested in a black rifle for a while, and pondered for a time building a BCM. However the more and more I look I am interested in a CAR-15/XM177E1 style rifle. I like the fixed carry handle and compactness of it. Now the problem that I am finding it that Olympic Arms is the only manufacturer I can find that produces an off the shelf version. 11.5" barrel, with a 5" pinned muzzle device. I have been enamored with the CAR-15 ever since I read about John Rourke using them in Jerry Ahern's Survivalist. Now I understand that Olympic Arms has some mixed reviews. I have found the rifle on Bud's at what I consider a decent price. I could buy another Arsenal for the price, but I would prefer to keep my AK and tinker on it and just pick up a new platform. So what is the general consensus? Worth it? Not worth it? If it is worth it, what pieces would be first to upgrade? BCG? The one I am looking at is the K3B-CAR.
  19. There is civilized camping up Indian Boundry, primitive camping out Citico, or up the Tellico River. Lots of places. There is also a KOA campground just outside of town. Bald River Falls is a nice place, and there is lots to see and do, Tellico Plains is right next to the Cherokee National Forest, and is the start (or end) of the Cherohala Skyway. Tellico Plains is my hometown, I haven't seen Mr. Hall in a long time, but I have great respect for the man, he is a wealth of knowledge for the area.
  20. Charles Hall. Charlie donated the collection as well as most of the other stuff in the museum. Charlie was the mayor of Tellico for many many years, and has been the self appointed historian for nearly as long.
  21. That is a very good point, two thirds of the bill came from that one bottle. However, if you are dropping $150k on a bar tab, I don't think that another $24k is gonna hurt for the tip.
  22. I liked his character. He will become a main character no doubt, the reformed bad guy that all shows have to have.
  23. I watched it. It was interesting, I wonder where it will go. It is kind of a War of the Worlds with a deeper storyline.
  24. I had forgotten about that. I think I will take you up on that. I will PM you later in the week when work eases up, if it eases up.
  25. Had the place nearly all to myself till late in the afternoon. The rain held off. It was nice. I am upset with my AK though. I am about a thousand rounds into it now. When I first got it I had some jamming issues, the locking lug on the bolt would catch the front trunnion and cause it to fail to return to battery. I got some Tapco mags and the problem went away. Till today. On my last mag (about 200 rounds) it jammed every shot. Even with the mags out and unloaded, it would jam just working the bolt by hand. It rather frustrated me. I am contemplating taking a file and filing the trunnion at an angle so that even if the lug catches, it will slide off and return to battery. On a good note, I am head over heels infatuated with my Heritage Rough Rider. So much so that I want a second one. I must have shot four hundred rounds through it alone, making the empty shotgun shell hulls dance. The M44, NEF Pardner Pump Protector (~1000 rounds as well) and my Glock functioned flawlessly as well. The +P+ loads I picked up weren't harsh at all. It was a good trip.
