Damn, now I have a severe urge to buy an RIA...

Swype changed the game for me on a virtual pad. I preferred a keyed pad, but when I upgraded to Android, they didn't offer a phone I liked with a pad. Swype is pretty awesome, my only complaint is that it will learn your words and patterns, even if you misspell something. It can be a hassle when you are in a hurry, but with a little patience and training, it works like a charm.

As long as this is good for go and my wife comes home in time (she normally gets off work around 10am) I will be there.

Is he a resident of the State of Tennessee? Is he otherwise prohibited from owning a gun? If so you are good to go. No forms, no paperwork, no trip to the police department. Gifts are OK.

I bought two, shipped they were $57 each. My FFL charged a $25 fee each and the $10 TICs once. I am into my lowers for around $160, which is $80 a piece. Some shops charge a single transfer for two, some charge a piece. The TICs is only once though. I went through Coal Creek, and to be honest, it was pretty painless, took less than a week to get them in. I did it all through through emails, no phones calls had to be made. The thing to figure though, that is a flat fee for any firearm you order, so that needs to be automatically added. When most others online are selling lowers for $90-$150 and you can't find them locally for less than $129, plus tax and TICs, the $50 is a steal.

Hell, I thought this was normal? For as long as I can remember I could spot a gun without looking too hard. From the ones in the rack, to the ones on the seat to the ones in the pocket. I guess to a degree those of us in Tennessee have taken it for granted, but hell, it was how we were raised. -
Most bulk is going to be fine. Factory stuff, top of the line. The discount it from buying in bulk. While I have zero experience with 5.56/.223, as my ARs are still stripped lowers right now, I have bought a lot of 9mm bulk, and all of it has been fine. I buy a lot of commie stuff too, but it is all surplus. However, it has all been good stuff.

I bought one of each during the Black Friday Sale. I want more.

I got a wood scale model of a catapult and a pair of Levi's 501. Was good enough for me. I grew up in a strict household as a child, military/religion discipline, and I never had a pair of Levi's. As I got older it was just something I went on about. I have dozens of pairs of jeans, but never Levi's. I mentioned this to my wife some months ago when we were having a hard time. She got me some Levi's. Complete with button fly. I got her a Kindle. Sadly enough they were nearly the same price.

My daughter woke us up at 5:00am. It was funny, she was still half asleep, and my wife demanded taking a million pictures before she could even make it to the living room. The Heathen stops to pose for a photo, not even realizing the shiny new bike in front of the tree. *Click* Then the realization hits and she squeals with glee, and the wife doesn't get that photo. Priceless. Also, to all the parents out there that decide to buy a bicycle, the tires don't come inflated. Who-woulda thunk? Be sure to grab a tire pump so you aren't running to Wal-Mart at 7:00pm and standing in line for an hour with all the other stupid people that forgot something.

You need to go watch the 24hr marathon of A Christmas Story and lay off the old Charles Bronson vigilantism movies for a while. Yeah, that just isn't something a wise man would post on a public forum...

I read a blog of an amateur version of what I assume this was before I bought my Glock 19 for carry. It involved being filled with wet babypowder, being shot by a .22LR, thrown off a roof, out of an airplane, etc... That was the deciding factor of why I bought a Glock.

It will be PS3 only. Twisted Metal 2 was the best multiplayer game of the PS platform. Twisted Metal was good, but not as good as 2, 3 wasn't that good. I didn't care for Black, it was too fast paced and the cars were too powerful. Twisted Metal 1 & 2 required strategy and a little bit of skill. It was my senior year of HS when TM2 was released. Quite literally that was all we did that summer. The Run & Gun control setting (which is similar to modern racing games, gas and brake on trigger/shoulder buttons) and we would play TM2 nearly 24 hours a day. Thumper was my character of choice. Outlaw II was my second. Grasshopper was my least favorite. Shadow was my least favorite character when played by the right guy. You knew you were screwed when you would hear the "Owouha" of his Special being fired." It is amazing that I remember a game from fifteen years ago as as vividly and in detail that I do TM2. There are a few games that I consider "Game Changers" in the world of gaming, and TM2 wasn't exactly one of them, but it will go down as one of my favorites. With this and the coming Last of Us, I might rethink my stance of being an XBox 360 only home...

I see this much in the same light I see perceived racism. Someone somewhere wants to be offended by it. I don't see it in the light that the upset want me to see it. When I see an airplane in a picture I don't automatically assume that it has to do with 9/11. Trying to focus on being upset makes the healing harder.

I guess the thing I am hanging up on is the 2" difference between a 16" barrel with muzzle device and the 14.5" with a muzzle device. Am I over thinking it? The one downside I am finding to the PSA parts is that all the barrels are 1:7. I don't think they offer anything in 1:9. That is something I keep looking at since you keep saying it, and it is the only reason I haven't fallen completely for PSA. BCM does offer a 1:9. The only thing I have in mind for this is reliability. Right now I shoot paper, but in the near future I am looking at trying to get into some 3 Gun and taking at minimum a carbine course. I am not building for a certain range, grouping or sole purpose. I am just building for reliability. And preferably the ability to eat cheap steel cased Russian ammo. Sort of an all around jack-of-all-trades rifle.

I am currently looking at a 14.5" midlength upper. I have two lowers, and I am certain that I will have more in the future based on the fun I am having. Thus I am not worried about the 'limitations' of a pinned 14.5" upper. I haven't decided how the second, or the third or fourth... will be built. I am focusing on one at a time. Right now PSA and BCM have pinned 14.5" midlength uppers for around the same price. The BCM would have to have a BCG and handguards added, which bring it up to a little over $150 more. I am steeling myself for the buy once cry once mantra, and as I am piecing this together as I go, it shouldn't be that bad. Is there a huge difference between the BCM and the PSA? I know BCM's rep, but the PSA seems to have the same specs. Other than the limitations of having a pinned muzzle, is there anything I should know about a 14.5" midlength? What buffer should I be using, or is the base carbine spring/buffer assembly going to be fine?

After having a my G19 for several years, I couldn't imagine life without it. I am a normal sized guy, and with a decent IWB holster, the pistol vanishes under a loose t-shirt. It eats anything I have fed it, all the cheap ammo I can find, steel cased, aluminum cased, brass cased. FMJ, JHP, it doesn't matter. I haven't tried feeding it lead cast, but I might get a barrel and go that route when I start reloading. I have several Glock factory mags, and several Korean knock offs. I honestly can't tell the difference. I do have some of the cheap 33 rounders, and they suck. Rumor has it that a spring change will fix them though. Once you get used the to feel, you won't even notice the grip angle. The trigger, I am used to it now with thousands of rounds downrange. Doesn't even phase me. As for the safeties... Well that is a personal matter. I personally don't believe that I need a mechanical safety. My Glock was my first bottom feeder. I never had a safety on any of my revolvers. Why would the Glock be inherently more dangerous?

Kel-tec Plr-16 w/ vertical grip
Murgatroy replied to a topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I knew I had read something on this lately. There is a thread on Zombie Squad about this exact thing, which lead me to this which states that you can put an AFG on an AR-15 style pistol (which is also considered to include the PLR-16 via other sources,) without being in violation of any laws. For your own safety, I would suggest sending your own letter to the ATF to obtain this permission, using the above letter as a reference. By having that letter in your possession, it would limit a lot of hassle that you may encounter. *Edited for sources* Regarding the PLR-16: AFG Proved By BATF on PRL-16 "letter inside" - KTOG - Kel Tec Owners Group Forum Regarding the AFG: Zombie Squad • View topic - PLR-16 w/ AFG for PDW Both include links to the ATF letters in question. -

It does get better. I will admit that it isn't easy. The hardest part, don't argue about money. Just don't. And if you forget that rule, DO NOT bring up the fact that she quit working. Don't. The hard part now, we have been living off of my paycheck for so long, and stretched so thin, that now that we have a surplus of income again, she thinks it is okay to go out and live it up. After all, she hasn't been able to afford all those fancy shoes and purses she has wanted for years. We should have it balanced back out next month and things will be good. I have kinda slacked off for the last couple of months and let her have fun, and maybe snuck a gun or four in under the radar...

I desire to pick one up, but I can't honestly think of a reason to have one. I have an android phone, carry a netbook with me daily and have desktops at work and home. I still want one.

I hear you, it has been a massive weight off of my chest since my wife started working as well. We agreed she could be a full time stay at home mom until our daughter started school. Poorest five years of my adult life...
