in my parents neighborhood you can't keep a truck, like a work truck, parked in the driveway, it has to have a garage. in my grandfather's you can't park on the street, or leave a ladder out over night. these aren't huge expensive neighborhoods, but they have convinents that have to be followed in order to live there or you get fined. a lot of them are stupid, but they are voted on and passed according to the people who live there.

i wouldn't say they are making that statement exactly. maybe just saying taht they are anti-crime... the guns that they are trading for are illegal weapons.. so don't throw out your xbox and pc just yet!

it all comes down to keeping your mouth shut when the cops arrive. Get a lawyer and go over your story. Don't say, "well officer, he had his hands in my grandma's china drawer and she just loves that china, so i shot that SOB." This might open you up to civil suit more than anything.

they are trying to create a dominate gang rather than many rivals. those who turn in their weapons for the game systems will in turn have their game systems taken by those that didn't turn in their guns! but then there will be less gangs with guns, just a dominate gang who will use less violence because they won't have to and therefore the murder rate will decrease, of course violence will have gone up, but the numbers will be biased and the police will look like they accomplished something. no one will report the crimes because they will be too afraid of being killed. Just a thought...

is there anyway to post underneith the stats section for "who's on" to see how many are in the chat system so we don't have to load it up to see if anyone is on?

where are you guys out driving?? sure when i go camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, i pack specific gear for said event. i always have tools in my 4runner for work, but for day to day driving, i'm never out of "civilization."

don't try to grab the grip INFRONT of the leather, grab the front of the grip like normal with your fingers, then slide your thumb BEHIND the leather (between your back and the leather) as you pull the gun out, your thumb will fall into place on the grip. try it a few times and you'll see what i mean

i have an original IWB from CB, the rivots aren't noticed at all. i carry about 2 oclock with my SC. i can sit in the car no problem, the leather will take a week or two to break in, and when it does it's even better. i worked the kydex over to get the exact fit i wanted and continue to do so as the leather softens. i can't imagine SOB to be any different. i used to carry that way although with a Desantis Tuck this, and was very uncomfortable in the car, usually took it out to ride, whiched sucked. it's a tough draw no matter the holster. did you get the quickclip? or the double clip (clip on each side of the gun)? wear the holster as much as possible even without the gun, to let the leather break in. then if you need to adjust the kydex to get the retention you're looking for. if you haven't messed with kydex before, pm me if you decide to do so, i'll give you some tips.

Middle Tenn. TGO members interested in a monthly get together?
jgrauman replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
since you central members are going to be getting together without the rest of us, how about an annual meeting? maybe even everyone can be invited?! -
i'm sure everybody heard the news about hte 18 year old with the shotty that killed the 5-6 people in the mall couple months ago... that's why i carry, because you never know.. you just never know
-
i've never worn a ctac but i did used to carry at about 4:30 and always felt like my xdsc grip was sticking out, my shirt would always get stuck under it as well and i was always worried about it showing. i moved to about 2 oclock and i can conceal very easily with shorts and tshirt. oh yeah, i use an original crossbreed iwb. i can sit, bend over, run! i am much more comfortable because with my arms rested by my side it's a straight up pull to draw and i am more secure with having my forearm always "protecting" my gun

has this changed with the recent "extended personal property" law for cars?
-
if you carry kydex and it does become a problem, it's very easy to fix, hair dryer or lighter at a distance and you can just extend the kydex (very carefully) to accommodate.

What do a tornado and a kentucky divorce have in common? Either way you look at it, somebodies losing a trailer!

keep an eye on the 1080i prices, they are going to drop as the 1080p's take over. right now the only way yuo can get a 1080p res is through bluray or HDDVD. 1080i is what most HD broadcasts are in, 720p is pretty much obsolete now. but since 1080p is so huge right now, everbody is dropping the big money for those and the 1080i's are dropping. panasonic, sharp aquos, hitachi, samsung, you can pick up 42" plasmas 1080i for $1300-$2000 right now, good luck and get a warranty

I've been legally carrying for over a year now and i'm amazed at how much my situational awareness has gone up. i analyze everyone that is within 20 yards of me. i'm much more aware. i look at bulky clothing and check to see if anyone is "printing." I never consider myself dumb to the world before, but now, it's just amazing, i'm more aware than i have ever been.

i haven't owned many guns, but don't most if not all manuals say not to shoot reloads?? i would say that it's just a liability issue so that there is no fault to the manufacuter if something like this happens. i had a guy that works for my range that told me i should never shoot WWB from walmart (walmart only) then he showed me his glock 19 barrel that was obviously a victim of a squib that didn't exit, then followed up with another round. IMHO that could happen with ANY factory ammo. the machines that make those rounds are made by humans and to me that means they can make mistakes as well.
-
that'll happen. that'll happen with with expensive ammo. if you chamber a round in your carry gun and remove every night, that'll happen as well. the round will get pressed too far, or will be light on powder, causing a squib. if you choose to chamber a round that looks like that, be careful, make sure it exits the barrel:up: edit: by the way, i'm glad you love your xd, congrats!

somebody over on xdtalk tried out one of these, i'll see if i can find the post, but he said it was great, except for the extensive chaffing caused by the stiching on the inside of the "holster." some recommended that he put some fabric on the inside, but i never kept up with thte thread to see if it worked out. ill look for it edit: http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33920&highlight=holster+shirt
