  1.   If she doesn't like shooting a 9mm, she'll hate shooting a .380 in anything smaller than something like the Bersa Thunder. Way more felt recoil in most .380 guns than just about any 9mm.   As for the Sig 90gr V-Crown, notice that 2 rounds failed to reach 12" while one barely made it. Good expansion on all of them though. Based solely on this data, I'd take the Hornady 90 gr FTX Critical Defense if I had to use a .380. All of them reached 12", all 5 are consistent on their depth, and all 5 expanded well.
  2. Federal HST in 9mm and .45 looked like a consistently good performer.     Nothing looks stellar in the .380 world. Not much of a surprise there.
  3. To be fair, George Lucas said the same thing about books not being canon for future movies long before Disney was anywhere close to the franchise. As soon as the books started coming out, Lucas said he had authorized them, but wouldn't take them in to consideration if/when he made any more Star Wars movies.   The books really do hem them in many ways. Pretty much every year in the lives of the main characters from the end of ROTJ onwards has been occupied by the books. That means any movie has to go the the end of the books and start from there. Chewie can't be in them because he's dead by that point, Han and Leia have to be married and have had 3 kids, Luke has to have restarted the Jedi order in a specific way, the public has to have general knowledge about the Jedi and the Sith, you have to deal with a Luke Skywalker character who is as powerful as Yoda or Palpatine, plus he's not the most powerful one around, etc.   I can understand saying "screw that. That's not the story we want to tell."   Then you also have the issues of references to the Clone Wars in the books not lining up with the 3 prequel movies. The Dreadnaught starships come to mind. The books make them out to have been all the rage and kind of the standard issue capitol ship during the Clone Wars, but they're nowhere to be found in the movies. Oops.
  4. Morgan's playing the long game and failing at the short game. Enid can't see the forest for the trees. Carol's in between, but she's not perfect. Her humanity is indeed lacking. She's quick to do what she thinks is necessary even if it's not quite necessary yet. That's not new though. That's why she killed the 2 sick in the prison and burned them.   Each person's past shapes them. Carol survived Ed and she's not going to go back to being afraid all the time. Morgan lost his mind and he's not going to go back there again. Enid's still finding her way. She's scared all the time.   Michonne seems to be the balance point between Carol and Morgan at the moment. She has compassion for the living, but doesn't let that get in the way of killing those who need killing.   I'm not sure what/where Rick is right now.
  5. Not every county is on the state map, including Davidson, Sumner, Williamson, Rutherford, Hamilton, and Roane. Most counties have a GIS system. You can usually find it by googling "Tennessee GIS xxxx" where xxxx is the county name for the counties not on the state map.
  6. I think they did this with Morgan in this episode as a juxtaposition to Enid. Enid's mantra is "Just Survive Somehow" while Morgan's is "what's the good in surviving if there's no humanity left?"   Carol shows a 3rd position. She's a survivor willing to employ JSS as needed, but also able to shift back to the thin veneer of politeness known as "civilization". Carol's a badass calculating cold-blooded bundle of awesome wrapped up in a cardigan.   They're showing that different people are at different points on the evolution of themselves and how they view this new world. Morgan is afraid that if he were to move towards Enid's and Carol's position, that he'd either lose himself again like he did after is son died, or he'd end up like the wolves. That's causing him to not kill the living with the hope that they can be redeemed. That's probably true in some cases, but more often than not that's just going to delay the inevitible and get him or someone he knows killed.
  7.   This. It was Aaron's backpack. Now he'll have to suffer the guilt of knowing his carelessness caused the attack. I'm sure they'll make that part of his character development.
  8. There's Golden Mountain just north of Sparta. http://www.goldenmountainpark.com/   It's a longer drive, but Wooly's is popular down past Columbia. http://www.woolysoffroad.com/
  9. The ATV riding trails are off Whippoorwill Road, just west of Hurricane Creek Road on the southern end of the park's land. I'm pretty sure that land is part of the park, but I can't be certain. I don't know if it's legal to ride there or not, but you can clearly see the trails and tire tracks on Google Maps satellite view. You could call the park office at 615-443-2769 and ask about that land and riding ATVs there.   https://www.google.com/maps/@36.0390254,-86.3187714,18z/data=!3m1!1e3
  10. I read a lot of them. I stopped after the New Jedi Order series. Anything written after that (regardless of where it fits in the time line) I never got to. Lost interest. That series dragged on far too long. By the time I finished it, I just didn't care any more. I also skipped the stuff aimed at young readers like the Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest series.   The books by Timothy Zahn were the best, IMO. Some others were good too, but his were always a step up from the others. Barbara Hambly sits at the other end of that spectrum for me. Just horrible.
  11. Just be like Marvel or DC, call it an "alternate universe", and enjoy the show. I like to pretend that there's an alternate universe without Jar-Jar and where the young Jedi is less wooden than Al Gore.
  12. Always two there are. A master and an apprentice.   -Yoda-
  13. Rick got cut, not bit.   Morgan was definitely in the field with Rick and Michonne. He's with Michonne when Rick puts down Carter (guy who got bit in the face). The only way to explain Morgan in this episode is that after Carter was dispatched, he moved towards the rear of the herd while Rick and Michonne continued forward.
  14.   Is the Roxy in Dickson not posted?   If not posted, how are their screens? I want to see Star Wars on a big screen, but don't want to deal with the zoo of Regal Hollywood 27 trying to get into theaters 15, 16, and 17 (the largest around except for the IMAX).
  15.   45 and 15 are opposite one another. It would be easy to think the pointer was on 15. It was indeed on 45.   2) Morgan is with Rick and Michonne when Carter gets his face eaten, but he's not with them when the horn goes off in last week's episode. Presumably Rick and Michonne moved on ahead with the herd while Morgan moved towards the rear of the herd. It would make sense to keep an eye out all along the length of the herd. Since the events played out in real time this week, Morgan got there about 15 minutes after it started. Assuming the others will show up next week right where this one left off, that puts him about 30 minutes closer to home. I figure they could all run about a 6'ish minute mile, but not consecutively and not through the woods. Ten minutes is more probable if not perhaps a bit generous. I'd say that put Morgan about a mile'ish away when it started and the others about 3 miles further out than Morgan. That's reasonable and would explain Morgan getting there first while the others don't make it until it's all over.
  16. Since you asked for our input, I think a combination of post counts OR membership tenure would be a good idea. I suspect there are members (possibly Benefactors) who rarely if ever post, but have been members for years and do a lot of reading. I doubt they're going to be your problem members.   Hall of Shame posting anything more than the screen name and reason for shaming might be a bad idea. IANAL, but I could see that going bad in several ways.
  17. I suspect all of mine will be stolen soon after a ban goes into effect. Not worth bothering with a police report of course, as if they're recovered they won't be returned to me.
  18. Yep. The best opening statement in TTD history.
  19.   Waaay too much glass. Dang near impossible to defend that place.
  20. If you board a plane, and this is your cabin crew, rethink your travel plans.
  21. Yeah. We've only seen the inside of 5 homes. Rick's, Deana's, Jessie's, the one used for the hospital, and the one used for the supplies/armory. Those could all be done in probably 2 or 3 model homes.   Kevin Smith on TTD was amazingly funny. His opening comments hooked me for the whole episode. I usually FFWD through much of it, just watching the behind the scenes stuff and the interviews with the actual cast, but Smith was funny the whole time. Referring to last week's black & white episode as The Walking Clerks was perfect.
  22. In The Talking Dead they said that the Wolves attack played out in real-time. It was 45 minutes. The exact time it took for Carol's casserole to bake.
  23. No, I did that with one shot.
