  1. I don't need that. I get "SPECOPSGREENBERETSDELTARANGERSSEAL Style Training" using interactive online multi-media resources.
  2. You guys forgot about the heavy pollen from the Bradford Pears. That alone is reason to get them.
  3. btq69r is right. The myRA fits a hole for people who want to start saving for retirement in one of those nice tax-incentivized instruments like an IRA or RothIRA but can't because they don't have the $2-3K minimum investment required. It works just like an IRA in that all of the money you put in it is put in after taxes so it's your money. You can take it out at any time without any penalty. So if your heat pump fails, you're good to go. The interest earned must remain in the myRA or incur a penalty. Once it's large enough to buy into an IRA or RothIRA, you roll it over. Note that just like converting an IRA to a Roth IRA, there will be a tax bill for converting a myRA to a Roth IRA. the only real difference between it and an IRA is that you don't get to pick any stocks/bonds/funds. It just gets the same low interest rate as the Government Securities Fund.   All that said, I don't see the point for anyone to bother with this. The interest earned and the tax factor on such a minuscule amount of money is as close to zero as you can get without it actually being zero. This really doesn't do much more than a regular FDIC insured savings account, from a purely financial/mathematical perspective. From the human behavior perspective, yeah I can see people being more diligent about keeping their hands off it to let it grow because they'll see it as a real retirement account and not just a savings account. Accessing the money is a little harder too as it's not quite as simple as going to the bank and getting it like it is with a savings account. As opposed to a savings account, the myRA makes a low earner's taxes a little harder to file and gives them less access to their money in an emergency.   I guess my final analysis is that it's a government program that's going to cost us way too much money to operate for what little benefit we gain. The .gov could probably get just as good if not better results by spending a fraction of that operational budget on educational programs to the poor and lower middle-class about how and why to get a savings account setup and set aside for building enough money to get into an IRA or RothIRA.
  4.   I don't always buy rats, but when I do, it's from strangers in parking lots at night.
  5. The part about him never getting closer than 10 feet is presented the wrong way in the story. The story makes that out to be a factor of why he isn't a threat. To me, if he's at 10 feet than he can be on her faster than she can react, especially as an older person with (presumably) slowing reflexes, and she's busy putting groceries away. I see the 10 feet thing in her favor, not his.
  6. Yeah, that seems to be where I am right now.   If I try to think of what a reasonable person would think/do given her circumstances, I can certainly understand that she would be afraid. Does that rise to the level of fear of serious bodily harm or death on its own? I just can't quite get there without other information, but I'm not nor have I ever been nor will I ever be a small 67 year old woman so it's hard to know.   If I were the judge I'd probably see if they couldn't work out an understanding that approaching strangers in a parking lot (especially people likely to be crime victims like the elderly) isn't exactly the smartest thing to do, and that a stranger approaching with no other threatening signs doesn't normally rise to the level of being in fear of life or limb. If so, let's drop the charges, learn from this, and be on our way.
  7. Hope this isn't a repost.   http://www.newschannel5.com/news/local-news/woman-arrested-after-she-said-she-pulled-gun-in-self-defense   Interesting story. I'd like to know more.
  8. Are you hiring?
  9. IMFDB would have no way to know in what those M4A1s are chambered. Yeah, they're likely 5.56 picked up off the Army/Nat.Guard along the way, but they could have found a stash in someone's home chambered in 6.8, .300BLK, or some other wildcat round along with a stash of ammo to feed it. Once that runs out, it's kind of useless.
  10.   Maybe it was a 6.8 AR   :hiding:
  11. Dolomite, you are one tough dude. and :usa:
  12. Taking the Spratly and Paracel islands would be like a weekend exercise for them. The US presence is the only thing stopping them from doing it today. A possible overreach for them would be to try to take their larger ocean neighbors like the P.I. or Japan, but I doubt they'd try that. I think Siberia would be where they'd really over reach. They have to have their eyes on that treasure chest and it could be their undoing if they ever go for it.
  13.   China would be far more focused on invading other territories while we could do nothing about it. they know that if we devolve into Civil War, it will be a while before we're strong enough to do anything on the world stage. During that time, they'll be consolidating and "legitimizing" their claims. Taiwan would be under the mainland's total control within hours, the Paracel and Spratly islands within days. Some contested Japanese islands would be next. To them, it's about the oil and mineral claims. There's nothing to gain by attacking us if we're already out of the fight. N. Korea would see the open door and move on S. Korea. Without our help, who knows which way that one would go? China has enough standing Army to both take all of those islands AND assist N. Korea with taking S. Korea if they chose too. Without our backing, the only other power in the region (Japan) would be unable to do much about any of it.
  14. I think he was using this holster:
  15. I gotta say that the OP missed one thing....the overwhelming evidence of laziness in addition to being "a bunch of rude :poop: heads". It's easy to be a keyboard commando. It's much harder to actually go out and take up arms. It's even harder to do that and stick with it. Our society moves from one thing to another very quickly.   I think OS is right. If/when we have another domestic war, it will be chaos, at least for a while before it starts to congeal into factions.
  16. Chuckie would be a great pickup, but I don't think he'd leave his sweet broadcasting gig, and certainly not while the ownership issue is unsettled. It would open up a whole new set of graphics for the Jumbotron though.
  17.   It would be funny to stick one of those orange or green "Abandoned Vehicle" stickers on the back window. :D
  18. We'll all have to start tucking our T-shirts in and wearing mom-jeans.  :)
  19.   This. It's no secret that the heirs don't want to fool with it. They want to focus on the family's other business interests. Maybe El Rushbo will try again. :)
  20. Knowing how the Titans operate, we'll probably end up trading 3 draft picks and half the defense to get Joe Philbin.
  21. I do too. I just think that the placement of this episode in the sequence messed up the cliffhanger-ness of Glenn.
  22. At this point, I don't care. They had me all worked up about it at the end of last week, but I've now lost interest in the "is he or isn't he" topic. If he's alive, then good. I like the character. If he's gone, fine. There are others that I also like and it opens the door for Rick to put peacenik Morgan in his place. You can't save everyone.
  23. You gotta let some things slide. That's an issue with lots of shows. Can't keep young actors from growing up. Just have to adjust the relevant parts of the story where they can.
