  1.   Each incident would be unique and have its own factors. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it would "prove" that no imminent threat to life existed, but it certainly wouldn't look good for the homeowner. Other factors could come in to play such as if the burglar was turning away to reach for something.     ETA - crosspost
  2. Sudafed is used to make you well (good) or it can be used to make crystal meth (bad). Since there's no good way to know what a buyer is going to do with their pseudo, a law was passed to limit the amount available w/o a prescription with an intent to cut back on the supply available for meth production while still letting law abiding people kick their colds. Cell phones can be used for calling your mom on her birthday (good) or for detonating a bomb in a playground (bad). I suppose the point is that a law should be passed to make purchasing too many phones illegal? Or that it would be idiotic to pass a law like that? I'm not sure.
  3. Unless that presumption of fear of a threat to life can be proven to have not existed.   It's why you can't capture someone in your home, tie them up, and execute them. A person in your home is not a carte blanche pass to do with them as you please. You're simply presumed to have been in fear of your life. But the law says the facts can prove otherwise.   And no....your mileage won't vary. That's what the law says. That's how the cops will see it. That's how the DA will see it. That's how the judge will see it.
  4.   It's TCA 39-17-1431 as I posted above.   As for the second statement.....I'm with you.
  5.   Yes, but I don't have any desire to try to hunt down Missouri's annotated code. Many states now have a law equal to or very similar to TN's regarding pseudo. I don't know if MO does or not.
  6.   I wasn't expressing my opinion on the matter. That's what the law in TN says. Disagree at your own peril.
  7.   Maybe. Sometimes Wally sells stuff cheaper than a small business can get it from their distributors.
  8.   TCA 39-17-431
  9. He probably left his CCW sash at home. He didn't want the attention that night, I guess.
  10.     +1 Internets to you!
  11. Did you find that at Academy?   :hiding:                     Sorry Lumber_Jack...it was too easy and I couldn't resist the temptation.  :D
  12.   Has someone started making something chambered in .38 S&W again?
  13.   Did my 5.11 pants with 37 pockets, fishing vest, and GSSF hat give me away?
  14. Maybe they were just Christmas shopping and have a big family....
  15. Thanks. You would think the Ruger website might say so right on the product page (or at least the spec sheet) and not bury it in a manual almost nobody reads. It's not like the .327 Fed Magnum is some super common round that everyone should know about. Even the .357/.38 thing is only well known amongst shooters, but I noticed that Ruger doesn't have that on their spec sheet for the .357 LCR either.   Compare that to the nice way S&W shows their specs. No reason to make it hard to find. Bad web-design, IMO.
  16. Care to enlighten us? What else can it shoot? The Ruger website doesn't say anything that I could find.
  17.   I heard it on NPR last night or this morning. In fairness, it could have been the local WPLN portion of the news break. I was navigating traffic and not paying super close attention to the radio.
  18. Update: I called today for a status. They hope to have the ranges open by the beginning of January.   I ran into one of the workers at Wendy's in October and he said they were shooting for late November to mid December, so it keeps moving. He said the delays were partly because of the usual construction/permit issues, but also because the owners keep adding/changing the plans to make it better. I sure hope it's worth waiting for. I need a place to shoot that's not a 45-60 minute drive each way. Right now they could probably open up with some piles of dirt and broken wood pallets out back and have people lined up out the door.
  19. What did the dog do to be punished with banjo music?
  20.   No, they don't.   The law says you have a presumption of being in fear of your life. The facts can show something else entirely and overrule that presumption.
  21. I watched a guy walk into a CVS with a full cowboy leather gun belt with ammo in the little loops and some kind of giant hog-leg revolver. He walked right past at least 10 people, picked up some Sprite from the cooler, and checked out. I'm 100% certain nobody noticed except me, including the cashier. He walked past my normally observant wife....twice....and she never saw him.   The lesson here is that nobody's looking at you.
  22. Learn to make 'shine.
  23. Many serviceable aircraft get sold/sent to other countries or sent to AMARC next to Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. The others I guess get scrapped or put on a stick in front of VFWs. I would expect quite a few A-10s to move next door from Davis-Monthan to AMARC when the day comes that they get retired.
