  1. It sure will be difficult to knock Mike out of 1st place.   I don't have a picture of it, but there was (is?) some piece of junk car over in East Nashville near the projects that had a homemade "In Loving Memory of Mama" decal using those block-letter boat registration stickers. It's off centered and crooked to boot. It screams "ghetto".
  2. I bought some of these cheap-o Chinese ones. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CU546JO/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_d99_g469_i3_ps   Still working fine after several months of occasional use. I keep them in places that I'll need a light, but not a life-saving one. Places like toolboxes, desk drawer at work, etc. I'd buy more if I needed them.
  3.   According to the Nashville Metro legal director Saul Solomon, "oh yeah? Kiss my butt, AG Slatery! See you in court. nanny-nanny-boo-boo" <<paraphrase is mine>>       No. But I suppose in theory that if someone brought a suit against Metro for it (they'd first have to be denied entry or kicked out of Ascend for having a lawful firearm) then they could sue for puntitive damages. The money would come from Metro or its insurance policies, not from any one individual.       Currently? By making it legal for them to do so. A thought bill was submitted allowing parks to be off limits in any area that requires paid admission, but now I can't find it. It may or may not go anywhere if it does exist.
  4. Yep, it is. That's the building that used to be Atlantic Envelope Co.
  5. I thought maybe it was a mountaineering pig.
  6. I had Joey's this Thursday. Skipped the pizza and opted for lasagna. Since it comes with a salad* that makes it healthy.           *Defined as some green leafy stuff and olives swimming in olive oil and balsamic.
  7.   Just wait until she walks outside, realizes it's much warmer today than she expected, and she has to take off her scarf....but the rest of the outfit doesn't work without the scarf....time to change the whole thing.....
  8. Oh! I just had an epiphany! mav is innocent in this whole thing. It's his mom that has gone all Heisenberg. She's been planning this out for months with the fake reports of strange stuff happening. That gives her a smoke screen when something goes bad. She can point at that history and say "See! I told you so." That's brilliant!
  9. Maybe he's the Heisenberg of the Mid-South and the van is his Crystal Ship.  :D
  10. Ah...oh well. I'll see how they do.  :)
  11. Thanks. Just ordered some of the quickbiscuit ones. At $10 for a 4-pack, why not?
  12. Rolled or not, I'm impressed that what looks like a bone-stock Jeep managed to climb that at all.
  13. I guess I'm going to have to find a new place to sleep during the day and some new wheels at night....
  14. I've wondered about those. Good to know they're popular. KahrMan, could you post the link to the Amazon page for the ones you got? Then again, you could keep the room in your safe available by just carrying all of your handguns on your person at all times.
  15. I got the emu one. I eliminated one, and guessed right on the remaining 50/50. Crockett and the Chinese firearm got me. I just guessed wrong. I don't recall the other one I missed.   As an aside, since it's old enough now, could I get a Crockett gun with my C&R? :D
  16. You're in Hendersonville. Get on the waiting list for Gallatin Gun Club ASAP by emailing Ron Jackson ronjackson@comcast.net . It may take a few years to get a spot, but once you do, you'll never let it go. I think the current estimate is 3 years.   The range is 300 yards with berms at 25, 50, 100, 200, and 300, plus gongs at 200 and 300 yards, plus steel plates at (IIRC) 25 feet for pistols, plus two trap stands.
  17. Yeah, there are a couple of stations up in the Greenbrier area that have 110 because of Highland Rim. All it takes is one kid saying "race cars run on alcohol. I bet that 'racing fuel' they sell over there could get us drunk!" then the others follow along, mix some in with their Mt. Dew, and there you have it.   I'm sometimes amazed, but never shocked at the stupidity of people. When I was in high school, some kids were talking about the "jump method" for preventing pregnancy. After you're done doing your thing, the girl jumps up and down to shake the sperm down, then it can't get to where it needs to go. Effective, right? Never underestimate the stupidity of some people and the gullibility of others to follow along.
  18. Joey's is on Elm Hill Pike, right behind the old Capitol Carl Black Chevrolet, across the street from the Atlantic Envelope factory.
  19.   I thought Blaze was horrible. Just stick with Pizza Perfect. You know it's the best.  :)   For those in the lower Antioch area, Angelo's Picnic Pizza on Murfreesboro Road just south of Bell Road is pretty good. It's far from the best in the city, but it beats all of the big chain places. It's similar to Sal's at I-40 and Stewart's Ferry which is also better than any chain (but not as good as Joey's). I think Sal and Angelo are brothers. I know there's some kind of family connection between them.
  20.   Just one question......do you eat at Joey's or at Nick's?  :D
  21. Joey's opens at 11:00. The line starts forming around 10:45.
  22. If by that you mean you'd eat it if you were starving in a North Korean labor camp, then we're on the same page.     Life's too short for bad food.
  23. For those of you on the south side, Nick's Italian Deli in Franklin (close to the Target on Columbia Ave, behind the Burger King and Advance Auto Parts) is very similar to Joey's House of Pizza. It used to be in Cool Springs, but he moved a year or so ago. Nick and Joey are (IIRC) brothers-in-law. Nick's was first, then Joey left there to start his own place. I get the feeling that they don't like each other very much. :)
