  1. I'm going with 5 others. Staying down at the Brooks area (exit 121). I'm going to try to attend some of the seminars and workshops. I'm skipping the NRA-ILA meeting this year. It was pretty decent last year, but it cuts into several workshops. All of the speakers are recorded and posted online within a few days anyway, so I can hear what all of them have to say at my own schedule.   My list so far includes: SURVIVAL MINDSET: ARE YOU PREPARED? DEFENSIVE SHOOTING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT THE GUNS OF PEARL HARBOR SNIPING IN VIETNAM Per the usual, some of those conflict with the others so I'll have to make some decisions later.
  2. Still no letter in my mailbox. They have my DL and 03 FFL.  SMH.
  3. Boys and girls, that's what 18" looks like.
  4. I believe we have a winner. Several dams around the state were built in the same style, but this one looks like an exact match to #1. Here's another photo of it.
  5. Twin Arches in Big South Fork is my first guess. Natural Bridge near Sewanee is my second, but I don't think that's it.   I don't know where the bridge is located, but that's a great photo.
  6. https://www.truthorfiction.com/owen-john-baggett-killed-japanese-pilot-mid-air/   Looks to be true, though his Obit. says it was a revolver while Air Force Magazine says it was a .45 automatic. Whether it was a 1911 or not seems to be somewhat in question, but the act itself sounds pretty solidly in the "True" category. Either way, what an amazing story.
  7. Unless you need the cash or the space, I'd keep it. It will only continue to go up in value over the long run, and while your GSSF cert will let you get a G19, it won't let you get a Gen2 G19. That's just me, but I rarely sell any guns and then only when they're a commodity item like a current production Glock. I've sold a few older ones for various reasons and wish I hadn't, if only for the fact that they're now worth substantially more than for what I sold them. I won't do that again unless I have to.
  8. enfield, you forgot that somewhere along the way Kirk gave the local alien ladies a tour of his own Starship Enterprise
  9. #8 is very interesting. I have no idea what/where it is though.   Does anyone know what #2 is? Looks like some kind of sluice, but I don't know why it would be that tall. It's on the edge of a river or lake, so maybe that helps.
  10. #5 looks like it was a horizontal quarry.
  11.   That would be my guess too. The TVA built several dams and power stations throughout the state that look very similar, but that one does seem like the one in Shelbyville to me.
  12.   Yep.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horace_Burgess%27s_Treehouse
  13. I couldn't find anything good for the BCG, but this is a good guide for the rest of the parts.
  14. Ultimate Tazer Ball, anyone?   http://www.sportsgrid.com/video/ultimate-tazer-ball-is-the-shocking-new-sport-that-will-have-you-shaking-your-head-video/
  15.   They're considered less-than-lethal weapons, so I don't think there'd be a problem in using one to prevent theft of property. But I'm not a lawyer and did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
  16. I think that's said tongue-in-cheek. Dragging the perp inside would likely show up during the scene investigation and can only make you look bad. Tampering with evidence and all that.
  17. That's not true of all brands and they're not all the same. I had a friend in the lumber business. He recommended Timbertech brand. He said it made Trex look like untreated pine.
  18. I think you need to re-read the part I quoted, particularly the bold part.  :)
  19.   I think that you have to get that license from the city or county Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

  21.   Google owns Waze now so yeah, they're collecting massive amounts of data, but you don't have to give it access to your contacts list. It will use your location services as long as the app is on, so just close it when you're done.
