  1. This ^^^^^ Weight makes all the difference and the only thing that will tame that is a really good belt and holster. The lighter the gun, the easier it is to fudge on that. For me, anything Glock G26 and larger/heavier requires a gun belt. Even with a gun belt and good holster, I personally find anything heavier than that uncomfortable. The G26 is borderline for me and I rarely carry it. I'm sold on the single-stacks like Glock G43, M&P Shield, Kahr PM9, and Ruger LC9. I can wear pretty much any belt with those and they work fine. A gun belt just adds some extra which is nice but not necessary. Anything bigger than those and you'll need a gun belt.
  2. I'm probably holding out until around Sept 20th. If the Sept 15th date pushes again, I'll probably cancel my order. The cynical side of me wonders if the delay is intentional to get people to cancel and cut down on these free-shipping orders.
  3. All of the cooler sizes say Sept 15th. No apologies needed for me. You just passed along info on a group buy. So far I'm not too worried about it. Refunds seems to be coming within a few days for those who have cancelled. I plan to wait it out.
  4. I sent this to the OP in a PM, but thought others might like the opinion too: I have several and think they're great. It's all I use. One thing that I really like about it is that I can remove the gun and leave it holstered the whole time and not have to fool around with hooks, loops, velcro, etc. Like dawgdoc said, that's handy for the crapper. It works very well for small single stacks like my Kahr PM9 and Glock G43. The Kahr PM9 is my EDC but will sometimes switch to the Glock G43. I also have one for my Glock G26, but that double-stack thickness is a little much for me to do IWB comfortably. The SW 3913 is small enough to work in a Remora, but it's kind of a heavy gun for its size relative to the plastic fantastics. I think it weighs about as much as a Glock G19 which is considerably more than a Kahr PM9 or Glock G43. I don't know if that would be a problem or not. When I use a Remora with my G26 (only slightly lighter than a G19 and your SW 3913) it stays in place just fine but it has the added thickness (more pressure) from the double-stack thickness. I suspect the size of the SW 3913 would make it easy to conceal but the weight of it would let you'll still know it's there. One of my holsters has the attached magazine pouch forward of the gun area of the holster. Like this one, but for the Kahr PM9 instead of the Sig as shown: This makes the holster wider (front to rear when wearing) creating more surface area. That one stays put all day long. I mean, it will shift a little bit, but never so much that I think it's going to fall down my pants or squirt out the top. This is my preferred Remora holster by far. Most of the time I have to stop and really think if I'm wearing it or not. I honestly forget it's there, but I don't know if that's due to the Remora or the lightness and size of the Kahr PM9. You might still need to use a gun belt with its thicker leather to create a solid pressure point because of the weight of your SW 3913, but maybe you could use a regular belt. With the Kahr PM9 and Glock G43 I can use pretty much any belt I want, including soft cloth belts, because they're so light. I'm not exactly a fashionista, but I don't walk around looking like Walter from The Big Lebowski either. Most gun belts have zero fashion, so I prefer to not use them. When I occasionally carry the Glock G26, I use a Comp-Tac gun belt to stiffen things up. A tip: I don't bother with the RFT (reinforced top) option. It's just some thin plastic in the upper half of the holster between the layers of rubbery stuff. It's supposed to make it easier to reholster, but the truth is that it cracks after a few weeks/months of regular use and just sort of makes the whole thing feel kind of weird. Even before it cracks, the Remora works by the pinching pressure of your body and your pants/belt, so it kind of crushes the RFT plastic anyway. My first one I went RFT, then switched to regular and never did RFT again. Maybe it works better for full-size guns, but I don't know.
  5. I'm more of a semi-auto guy.
  6. (emphasis mine) I'm pretty sure that's wronger than a wrong thing that is incorrect. JAB has it down. Protecting livestock does not fall under hunting. Now you'd better be clear that you are NOT hunting and indeed are protecting livestock. If the facts and evidence would support that, you're fine at night. Don't go coyote hunting next to a cow field and try to claim "I was protecting my cows!"
  7. Nah. That barrel's too long. I'll wait for the conceal-carry version.
  8. I don't think that jives with the Hunting & Trapping Guide. https://issuu.com/thebinghamgroup/docs/hunt_trap_guide_2015-2016?e=18073349/14694585 Page 16 (19 on the PDF) bottom half of the page, center column. #7: Use or possession of the following equipment is prohibited: A red dot or illuminated reticle doesn't fit either category. Is there another source which contradicts/overrules the Hunting & Trapping Guide?
  9. @Trekbike, it's not a real Subaru until you cover every available inch of the back with bumper stickers. If you had picked up a Forester, you'd need to change your name to Stella and start wearing sleeveless flannel shirts. Seriously though, great looking wagon and I'm quite jealous of that filter placement. Subbie does a lot of things right.
  10. I didn't know it was like Beetlejuice. Say his name and he appears.
  11. To be fair, HAARP is a big unknown. The official record is that it was used to research the ionosphere. I had previously heard that the ultimate goal was to leverage the hypothesized discoveries into advanced communications capabilities, but I don't know if that was ever an official statement or not. One supposed goal was to build a new way to communicate with submarines at depth. There was only ever one array built and it was in Alaska in a forest, not on a sea-based rig. It was shut down a few years ago citing funding as the cause. Whether or not it created any actionable scientific discoveries or not, or if the Alaska array was shut down for other reasons will likely never be known by most of us. I suspect the research outcomes will remain classified for many decades to come, even if the results were "we didn't find anything new." HAARP is a conspiracy-theory goldmine because it's shrouded in both government secrecy and difficult-to-understand advanced science. It breeds a wealth of theories of its capabilities ranging from weather control, earthquake creation, inducing mass hysteria, etc. Like most things of this nature, you'll never convince some folks that it's true, and you'll never convince other folks it's not true.
  12. Where's Kentucky Conan when you need him?
  13. Another update on Rokslide:
  14. I think she's in a gang. They wear their pants that way with one leg higher than the other. I read that on the Internet so you know it's true.
  15. Another update from 2 days ago on Rokslide That would put them in Houston probably today or tomorrow. Hopefully we'll start seeing some shipments going out next week.
  16. Update on this: It looks like they're adding metal detectors to The Ryman and The Grand Ole Opry House. http://www.wsmv.com/story/32794702/security-upgrades-coming-to-opry-ryman
  17. THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
  18. A real store. Just getting their range finished up and this is the big way celebrate that. http://www.flashpointtac.com/
  19. How do handgun sales at AAFES/NEX work? Does a person have to be assigned to that base/post (or at least one in the same state) to buy? If a veteran, do they have to reside in the state? Or does AAFES/NEX have some special form of dealer license that can sell to anyone who qualifies to shop there? Since Ft. Campbell crosses states, can residents of either state purchase handguns there even though the PX is on the Kentucky side? I seem to recall a thread some years ago where it was said that soldiers assigned to Ft. Campbell can purchase from any dealer in either state. Is that true? It doesn't impact me either way, I'm just curious.
  20. This one's for you:
  21. It's a useful system for bases/posts in the middle of nowhere (Twentynine Palms, CA for example) with few places to go off-base. Otherwise you can find better and/or cheaper elsewhere. Still, if you live on base/post it's convenient and generally well-priced.
  22. Navy guns are measured in inches and that stuff just takes up too much shelf space.
  23. What else would you like to know besides what's on the Wiki page? It seems fairly thorough.
