  1. peejman beat me to it. My wife always had problems racking a slide on everything except her Walther P-22. Once she started using "Method 1" shown on Cornered Cat, she can handle them all....except maybe my new M&P Shield 9....Even I have a hard time with that one. OMG it's a stiff spring!
  2. Your honor, I refuse to post pics from the PSA booth on the grounds that I might incriminate myself.
  3. They have both options. They'll use your donor car, or build one with all new parts from bumper to bumper.

  5. I was a little distracted in the PSA booth. . .
  6. The overall show was much better than Lousiville. Lots more room to move around. Wider aisles, and as bad as Atlanta's traffic is, it was still better than Louisville's in the rain. I thought this was interesting from Pantheon Arms. Combined with a folding stock from Law Tactical, an AR can be made really stinking small and ready to go in seconds. http://www.opticsplanet.com/pantheon-arms-dolos-take-down-kit-for-ar-15.html I'd want to know more about it and how it might affect accuracy vs. a normal barrel nut. Plus the Palmetto State Armory booth is always worth a stop.
  7. There are several reasons for a restomod instead of an all original on an older car. Safety and reliability are the obvious ones, but cost is another. Some parts for the older ones are exceedingly difficult to find, especially if you're trying to build a 100-point car. Something as simple as wire clips in the wrong shade of the right color can get you dinged by a judge. Other times there's just not enough of the original left to be able to do an original restoration. Take a 34 Ford. If you can find one, the odds of it still being an all steel body with the steel running boards and wheel arches, and not a pile of rust are slim. You may have a solid body, but the running boards are roached. So if you get fiberglass replacements, is it really an all original restoration? Nope, so might as well rod it.
  8. Both also provide access to a video library of training materials, but it looks like USCCA's focuses mostly on laws and information about carrying. NRA CG appears to focus on tactics. Can anyone confirm or correct that?
  9. You need to remove Matt Damon from that list. http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/film/81760705/Jason-Bourne-star-Matt-Damon-on-gun-control-I-wish-that-could-happen-in-my-country
  10. It's normal. Mine always arrived the last week before the event. Even if they don't arrive before you leave for Atlanta, it's no big deal. Just register at the door.
  11. This. The only requirement is that the transfer be handled by an FFL in the recipient's state. There's no rule about how it gets there so you can take it yourself, or ship it there yourself. But some FFLs will only accept incoming transfers from other FFLs. Call around to a few until you find one that will take it from an individual.
  12. But the steel block itself wouldn't make any difference. A person holding a block of steel to their chest and a person with their hands tucked to their chest would fall at the same rate. Of course I'm assuming a block of steel small enough that a single person could carry it. If we're talking about a 10'x10' block with some handles welded on, then yeah, that would change the air resistance.
  13. No. Because whether the guy has a block of steel or not, he'll fall at the same rate.
  14. Besides, he couldn't see too well with one eye swollen shut.

  16. That fireworks thing was pretty cool.
  17. It's nice that they put a little porthole window on the side for the pilot.
  18. In a related press release, Iranian sources announced the latest steps in their space program.
  19. The US and the Brits used inflatable tanks, trucks, etc. in WW2 prior to D-Day to misdirect the Nazis into believing we'd assault the continent at Calais. The US Army still uses inflatable tanks as decoys. Today they even give off heat signatures to fool surveillance. It can be an effective tactic, but not if you start distributing photos of close-ups like the Iranian Stealth Jet... Fail.
  20. You have clearly never seen Iranian action movies. What you're seeing here in this mock up are leading edge special effects next to those. They have an action hero movie that's kind of like Rambo that's so bad it's good.
  21. It also looks like it was installed by the hacks at their local Best Buy.
  22. In addition to the trespassing mentioned above, he was also violating FAA regulations by not following the instructions of the flight crew. Airlines have deep lobby pockets and have special stuff like that just for them. Plus there's the fact that the doctor agreed to get bumped at the airline's discretion. So did every other person on the flight. So do you and I when we fly. They may not have known it, but they DID agree to it. It's in the small print that none of us read, but it's still there and part of the contract we agree to when we purchase a ticket. In the end, it was a bad move by UAL to make someone deplane for an overbooking when they could have upped the compensation until a volunteer came forward. The passenger violated FAA regulations and may face criminal charges. We'll see. Part of me thinks no DA would go anywhere near this, but another part of me thinks it's a perfect storm of events for a DA and FAA to get the word out that you always obey a flight crew. If they bring charges, everyone in the country will know what happens when you disobey. That might be worth the short-lived social media blowback to some FAA functionary.
