True. I don't want to get shot with one out of a 1" barrel.

The 5.56/.223 loses a lot of its velocity in these shorter barrels. To me, anything below 10.5" is just too much of a loss to make it worth fooling with and even a 10.5" is a pretty significant loss over a 20-26" barrel, but YMMV. Plus, 10.5" barrels put the muzzle plenty close to my face when shooting it. I don't really want that blast any closer, but again, YMMV. http://rifleshooter.com/2015/12/223-remington-5-56mm-nato-barrel-length-and-velocity-26-inches-to-6-inches/

And the Calgary Flames.

I had forgotten about the Ice Flyers. I never went to any of their games.

The way Nashville supports its teams seems "normal" to me, but when I was in Atlanta for the NRA convention last month, I learned otherwise. My buddy and I walked by the Phillips Arena on the way to the GWCC. I saw the Hawks sign on the outside and said "oh, I guess that's where the Hawks play. I guess they're not in the playoffs this year." I mean....they're the Hawks, so it was a statistical probability they didn't make it. Plus I didn't see much in the way of Hawks banners, shirts, etc., even right by Phillips Arena. I was mistaken because they had a must-win game that very night in Round 1. That's sad. A pro team in a large city makes the playoffs, and seemingly nobody cares. I didn't see any of the downtown buildings lit up in yellow and red, no Hawks banners at every restaurant and bar, no mention on the evening news of anything special at all related to the playoffs. Maybe what Nashville has really is special. Or maybe Atlanta just sucks really bad at supporting their home teams.

I'm not quite old enough for the Dixie Flyers or the South Stars, but I did watch some Nighthawks and Knights games at Municipal.

Ugh....we could have been the "Ice Tigers" . . . who thought that was a good idea? The final names were Ice Tigers, Fury, and Attack. Craig Leipold had the good sense to think "wow...those names suck" and added Predators to the list. Surprise, surprise! The owner's idea won. I don't care if it was an honest vote, or if Craig named himself a "super-delegate" at the last minute. Predators was a great choice.
-
True, but THIS Predators fan has supported the team since the beginning, participated in the "name the team" vote in 1998, attended their first open house event at Bridgestone in the summer of 1998 (then simply the Nashville Arena), and still sports a first generation jersey. I can't believe we FINALLY get to see a banner hanging over our home ice. "Stanley Cup Champions" will look better than "Western Conference Champions", of course, but after almost 19 years since the first puck dropped, I'll take what I can get.

A food truck parked near tonight's watch party could make a killing selling "Instrument of Crime Baskets" with hushpuppies and fries.

Did you ever "complete" the collection with every year and arsenal?

I have a Maglula Uplula that works great on Glock and Beretta 9mm mags. It's rated for 9mm to .4ACP. I don't know if it would work on .380ACP or not. http://www.maglula.com/product/uplula-9mm-to-45acp/ I also have their AR-15 mag loader and it works well with Magpul PMags. http://www.maglula.com/product/m-16-ar-15-lula-5-56-223/ You can buy their products online at pretty much any of the larger on-line gun or parts shop like PrimaryArms.Com, Brownell's, and Midway. They're also available on Amazon and some sites you might not expect like NewEgg.com. Some local shops also carry them. I think I've seen them at Academy before. Prices vary a little, but expect to pay about $30'ish.

Plus your beer doesn't cost $8.00.

I took some basic Italian classes with Patti Nelson a few years ago. I would venture a guess that she or one of the others shown on this page could translate for a reasonable fee. http://www.italianmarket.biz/Learn_Italian_Cocos_Italian.html

Post Office doesn't matter. They don't have to be posted. It's still a no-go zone. They're "special" and don't have to follow regular federal building statutes about posting.

Plus we'd hopefully get to see Crybaby Crosby lose 4 more times.

All my private firearm sales and buys are with TGOers with a lot of posts or with good iTrader feedback from members I know or who also have a lot of posts. Anything else like Craigslist gets done at the local police station, and then only after an actual telephone call. You can get a pretty good feel for most folks by a phone call. That's something you don't get with chat and email.

That's been out for a while. It's worth checking every few months as they seem to be adding new ammo periodically. -
HPA Hopefully it's getting closer.

It's kind of like how having an HCP is a defense to prosecution. Technically, an officer could arrest any of us HCP holders because we actually are violating state law by being armed. Then the judge would dismiss the case when we present our HCP as a defense to prosecution. In the real world, that would never happen, and neither would being prosecuted under the now-defunct state law with an NFA-stamped suppressor. In the end, the result is the same.
