  1. UPDATE: I've had it back for a little over a week and have driven it quite a bit at various speeds and of course hitting plenty of the potholes on our roads now. No more shaking, so it seems like the diagnosis of the drag link was correct. Replacing the Aux battery was pretty easy. 4 bolts and some tugging on the passenger fender to remove it. I actually struggled getting the side marker light harness disconnected more than anything else . I did crack a few of the clips, but not so bad that they don't work, plus the 4 bolts are really doing the attaching. Next time I have an order for Quadratec I'll add in some of their $2 clips and replace them.
  2. +1 to what was said above. You're doing nothing illegal by walking your dog on a public street any time of day or night. Depending on what "armed visibly" means, what he did might be illegal. Simply open carrying a holstered firearm is not. If he's carrying his gun/rifle in his hands and actively threatening you with it, that's probably illegal like brandishing or maybe assault (I'm not a lawyer and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night). It's possible the whole thing could be resolved by simply sharing with him what you've told us about your work schedule and that if his dogs barking at night is a problem, maybe taking them inside at night could solve his issue. Or maybe he's just a hotheaded jack-wagon who wants to stand in his yard and shake his fist at the clouds.
  3. You don't actually have to hide the sword in a cane. It would be perfectly legal to have a full sword, Katana, heck even a Broadsword. Go crazy and carry one of those Scottish Claymores
  4. Never read the books or watched the old movie. I've enjoyed the 2 new Dune films. I hope they continue, but AIUI the source material gets pretty weird and probably won't translate to a broad audience targeted by big-budget Hollywood movies. Kind of like the stuff they cut out of the LOTR series (the Barrow downs, Tom Bombadil, etc.).
  5. It's up to you to know the law. The ATF has a good handbook that's worth reading if you plan to take the plunge into the NFA world: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/national-firearms-act-handbook
  6. Needs a Bowie knife bayonet.
  7. I've considered doing the same . . .
  8. FIFY! To the OP's question, It's just me and Mrs. 'lizard so I have them wherever I want. When we have adult company I make sure they're at least in drawers instead of just sitting on a counter or my desk, etc. In the rare times when a kid is in the house, everything goes in the safe or on me.
  9. One of my favorites and something that should be standard on all restrooms.
  10. Music City 4x4 has it. They diagnosed a worn drag link. Waiting on the part to arrive (RockJock CurrectLync). Should be done Thursday or Friday. Of course on Sunday morning I went to start it up to take it up there and *click* *click* . . . dead battery. I knew it was getting weak. Got an Interstate AGM from Costco and off to the races. Ordered a new AUX battery too. It's been dead/low for a while and likely what killed the main. I'll pull the passenger fender when I get the Jeep back and swap out that one.
  11. Lighters, not cell phones, at concerts.
  12. A lower is a pretty cheap part to begin with. The cost difference of factory polymer / 3d printed / forged aluminum / 80% is less than a tank of gas. Even on a budget build, cost shouldn't be a big factor in deciding the material. Other factors like weight, DIY hobby fun, etc. would matter more in my book than a couple of Andrew Jacksons on a finished product I'd expect to have around for a while.
  13. This thread reminds me of an old Jim Varney sketch where Ernest has a new watch that does everything. It's huge, has a TV screen, a satellite dish, a calculator, full calendar, etc. . . . Then someone asks him what time it is. Ernest looks all over it for a few seconds, then says something like "it doesn't do that."
  14. A guy named Stephen Wilson Jr. popped up in my Insta feed. I really like what he's turning out. The first one below is like a Gen X anthem. The second has some really good acting considering you can't hear them, just the music. They make you feel the anguish pouring out of the singer. Warning: Adult themes of domestic abuse in the second one.
  15. Those giant training rifles are pretty cool. They came apart to show the inner workings. I've seen come up from time to time on auction sites. I think it would be neat to have one to hang on a wall. https://www.thearmorylife.com/the-arsenal-of-democracys-oversized-training-guns/
  16. They come from the factory that way. Mine has one or more very small seepages on the driver's side. Again . . . 27K miles . . . I knew going in we were buying Chrysler quality. I tried to talk Mrs. 'lizard out of it, but that didn't work so I just resolved myself to have a sinking-fund for repairs on it. I swear this thing is like a boat with wheels.
  17. Placed adjacent or on a load bearing wall it should be fine. The water in a filled standard 60" tub weighs a bit over 600 lbs. plus the weight of the tub. A larger "garden tub" can double that.
  18. A former coworker recommended Music City 4x4 in Madison. Anyone have any dealings with them? If not, Mill Creek Overland may be the destination, but he can't get to it for a couple of weeks.
  19. I thought about the steering damper. It was replaced under a TSB/Recall by the dealer I got it from after they took it in. I suppose it could be bad again.
  20. I suspect it's like most of them. If you want something specific, be there at least 2 hours before.
  21. https://www.estatesales.net/TN/Columbia/38401/3945567 Saw this one in my weekly review of upcoming estate sales. Looks to have some boolits, primers, brass, some reloading gear, etc. Looks like some factory ammo too. Good luck!
  22. Hey, TGOers. I need recommendations for a Jeep shop. I have a totally stock 2019 JLU Wrangler. Yesterday I was on I-40 about 75mph and hit a small bump (nothing crazy). The front end started shaking pretty good. I slowed down and when I got to about 65mph it quit. Odd, I thought. then I hit another bump (just a bridge joint) and this time it was worse and didn't stop until I had slowed down to somewhere below 25mph. I'm not sure I'd call it the "death wobble". It wasn't so violent I thought it would flip, but it's probably somewhat related. Did the usual research on the Jeep forums and I know it could be something as simple as an improperly torqued nut on a suspension part all the way up to worn ball joints. Ball joints seems unlikely since it only has about 25K miles and it has never been offroaded that I know of. I got it with I think around 12K miles on it and the first owner was an older person. Now it's Mrs. 'lizard's mall-crawler. I don't have the tools to check everything or the knowledge of suspension parts to feel confident I'm checking things properly. It's out of warranty. Are there any shops in the Middle TN area that specialize in Jeeps you'd recommend to diagnose and fix the problem?
