You should have edited the tach too. A liitle orange line sitting around the 6500 rpm mark would have made it more convincing.

I have a newer P-22 (3.5" model) with about 700 rds through it. Never had any problems with it using CCI Mini-Mags. And those are the two main problems with the P-22. You need a newer one where they fixed some of the bugs of the earlier design, and you usually have to feed it pricier ammo. It helps to do some more tweaking on your own even on the new ones. $6.75 for a 100 pack of mini-mags at the Wally World isn't going to break the bank, but it's still more than the 550 count Federal bulk pack for around $12. I also find the sites difficult to use. There's a lot of room between the rear dots to get the front dot centered. I'm ashamed to say that I can only get 8 out of 10 on average on a standard round splatter target at 50 ft, but I've seen 3" to 4" groupings at that distance from a much better shooter than me using my gun. So I know it's me and not the gun. If you don't mind feeding it higher priced ammo, and you're willing to accept some "character" in your gun, the P-22 is a fun one to shoot. It's also a great gun for introducing someone to the semi-auto world because it looks and functions like most large caliber semi-autos. I wouldn't make it my first choice for a target competition gun, but I do like it. As stated earlier, it's also easy to add a suppresor. The barrel is already threaded.

Where exactly do you pronounce the space in that handle? I'm also on PC. monkeylizard (or m0nkeylizard on Steam, IIRC)

According to the YouTube vid, the .600 Nitro has a muzzle force of about 3 1/2 tons. So which is better for EDC, the .600 or the gorilla?

So who actually open carrys?

I CC in public, but have been known to OC on my own property. Especially over the past few months as I've had lots of people I don't know coming by the the house doing construction quotes and work. No funny looks. I've gotten into about 3 discussions with some of the contractors about guns. They all had their HCP too. -
I don't want to know what they say about any man's junk.

I mean, with the .50 and the GBU-32 1,000 pound JDAM, what's the point?

So she's a cougar, huh?

Point taken, but the comment wasn't about pumps in general, but about the entry-level pumps, like the Rem 870 or Mossy 500 lines. Either way, I don't think a pump is going to be the right choice for my use. Semi-Auto looks like a better choice since a good O/U is too far out of my budget. After shopping around a bit for prices on the Rem 1100 and Benelli 390/391, it seems like $500 is too low of a budget to get a sporting gun that I'll be happy with for a long time. That's no problem. I'll just have to wait a little longer to save a few more dollars. Thanks for the input everyone.

Thanks guys. What about the Benelli Nova? Good choice for my described use?

Does one exist? I tried sporting clays a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I was using a Beretta Silver Pigeon III O/U which wasn't mine. While I do plan to someday work up to having one of those multi-thousand dollar guns, I need to live in the real world for now. So what I'm looking for is a shotty for occasional sporting clay shooting. Probably no more than 4 to 6 times a year at 100 or so clays on each visit. I like a pistol grip because it's more comfortable than a regular stock grip. I'm 6'4" and it's difficult to get my right wrist back far enough to keep a good grip while also seating the stock in my shoulder really well. The pistol grip helps a lot with that, but it's not a requirement as I know it will severly limit my options in shottys. I have a lead on a deal for a Benelli Nova (for waaay under my $ limit), but don't want to bother with it if it's a poor choice for clays. I'd rather spend more on a better choice than have a shotty that doesn't really work well for what I want to do with it. So what would be a good choice for sporting clays given a $500 limit? Should I be looking for pump, semi, or O/U?

Hmm....I wonder how he died.

Sad, but still funny.

We should all get 3ga. cap and ball elephant guns for our EDC.

[pedant]The article said odometer in the last line. Erm....speedometer[/pedant] As for the Euro-tickets, I kind of like their graduated system in the sense that it can be more of a deterent than our system. I remember when I got my 1st ticket. That $120 ticket hurt on my $6.75/hr paycheck and I was gun-shy about more than about 5 to 7 mph over the limit for a long time. Now if I have to pay $120 ticket, I'm not happy about it, but it's not really going to cramp my style or get me to slow down for more than a few days (weeks at most). If I got slapped with one that really hurts, I'd think twice about grossly exceeding the limit for a loooong time after the fine. But that point of pain is different from person to person, based largely on income. A single parent with an $18K income would feel the pain at a $25 fine. The tiered fine structure seems to be an effective way of doing what tickets are supposed to do, cause the cited driver to slow down. Oh, and make a lot of money for new police cars.

I noticed the Ford accesory has the rifles pointed in a safe direction (well, except for anyone parked next to you). The Dodge aims them at the driver's back. Nice.

JeffSig...what part of that post says "you knew it was in the wrong space" ? Seems pretty clear to me that D3vo thought it was 17.98 until it rang up higher. Does anyone know if Wal-Mart offers remedial reading comprehension lessons, or are those kept in the wrong space?

Actually, it could make sense for the right person. If you lived/worked close enough to his shop and you shot a LOT then it can be economical. And it looks like that package is for up to 3 shooters, so $500/year each isn't so bad. Then you just overpay on your obligatory single box of range ammo each visit.

Really? According to Google Maps, it's about an hour and a half. I can be at SRHEC from Bellevue in 45 min. Is Google THAT far off? Danariel, if you're also looking for a shotgun range, the Tennesse Clay Target Complex is really good. It's located off Briley Pkwy on the west side of town near the prisons. They have a nice sporting clays setup, plus trap and skeet. I've never shot those 2 and I can never keep the difference between those two straight. Their sporting clays are scattered along a paved road that winds through some fields and tree lines. There are lots of different stations set up with 2 clay launchers that give different angles and elevations at each station. It used to be "pay for what you shoot". Now it looks like a set fee of $40 for 100 clays, or $9 for 25 trap/skeet. They took some heavy flooding in May, but the last time I drove by it looked liked they were back in business. http://www.nashvillegunclub.com/

Call GnL and ask for Jeff, their gunsmith. He's a good guy.
