  1. Cooper's back in again. He will be until he decides to retire.
  2. +1 to that. The West side has the lightest interstate traffic if that's a concern.
  3. I know the OP said no Davidson Co., but the northwestern section isn't over developed and won't be until some expensive bridges get built. The Joelton area for example.
  4. There was an undetermined amount of time from when he gets smacked with a shovel and when he comes to in the house. Maybe it was long enough to recover. As for alone in the hospital, just remember to baricade your hospital room door from the outside with a rolling gurney. It seemed to work for this guy.
  5. Congrats. And +1 to needing to share which eatery.
  6. Good catch. I guess I saw a tan tank and Hummers and instantly thought Abrams. I pulled the scene back up on TiVo and does appear to be the M60. the Wiki you linked to says the Patton has the lower escape hatch and the Abrams does not, so that's probably what was in the scene. In that case... zombie stompin in a Patton would be awesome.
  7. I'm not a hunter so this may be a stupid question. It seems logical that baiting is cheating, but if it's not legal in TN, why does Dick's have a pallet load of feed corn and a stack of hoppers for it?
  8. The further west you go, the less there is, but land prices drop off too. Fairview (Williamson county), or perhaps Kingston Springs (Cheatham county). If you have kids, Williamson public schools are considered some of the best around. The south or east side give you better access to I-65/I-24. Fairview has about a 30 min. drive to Fanklin, 35 to Cool Springs. Lots of office parks in Cool Springs now. It's amazing how much it has grown in last 15 years.
  9. My apologies. It was truly meant as light hearted humor about random persons that nobody here knows, such as on the Funny Pics thread in this same section of the forum. I see now that I was mistaken. strickj, please check your inbox.
  10. Lol. Me too. I need to stop reading the TGO: Survival Skills board. I was also thinking I saw lots of big rigs. Plenty of diesel to fire up that Abrams.
  11. Or that the State Troopers that were right on the GTO's bumper managed to not hit the spike strip... Here's hoping that tank has a full tank of fuel and a bunch of ammo. I know it won't, but that would be too cool. Zombie stompin' in an Abrams.
  12. If Pirate Booty looks like that, it's no wonder pirates drank so much rum...
  13. Can a zombie thread be double-tapped through the head?
  14. I was wondering if anyone else picked up on that. Must have been one of those automatic Glock revolvers we keep hearing about. I enjoyed it. Season Pass on the TiVo has been set. Now for some weekly commercial-free zombie action.
  15. Is it too late to do a write in campaign for Basil?
  16. Sorry for the duplication Daniel. I couldn't recall the name of the shop so I couldn't search for it. You're right though. bubbadavis started it in the Handguns forum.
  17. I saw a new shop in Bellevue. YES, REALLY! It's near Sam's Club on OHB next to the Subway and across the street from Rojo Red's car wash. Does anyone know anything about this one? They were closed yesterday. Looks like the hours are 9-9 Mon-Sat. I couldn't tell if they were open for business yet or not.
  18. You described this as *your* first gun, but if you plan to have Mrs. Cowboy learn to shoot it too, be sure to let her shoot the ones you're evaluating. You may find that she doesn't like shooting _________ and therefore won't. for the blank you can fill in "caliber", "manufacturer/model", "semi-auto", "revolver", "full-size", "compact", "double-stack mags", etc. Mrs. 'lizard hates to shoot my XD .40 subcompact. But she likes a full size Taurus PT-92 (fake Beretta 92FS) in 9mm because it has much less felt recoil. She also likes her Walther P-22 because the grips are very thin and she can hold it better than either of the two mentioned above. I guess the shortened version of this is buy what you want, as long as she doesn't hate it. She doesn't have to love it, but if it's difficult or downright painful for her to shoot, she won't. If she's not going to be shooting, then nevermind....carry on.
  19. By most accounts, the XD line is as durable as a Glock. Both are solid choices. I chose a .40 XD over a Glock as my first handgun because of the (to me) more natural grip angle and the 1911-style grip safety. The grip safety gave me more peace of mind as a novice. Now that I've been shooting/carrying for a little while, that's not such a big deal, but it did factor into my decision making for the first purchase.
  20. America's Army made it so you always see yourself as the US Army and the other side is always OPFOR (and they see themselves as Army, and you as OPFOR). It's the only one I know of that ever did that.
  21. I just picked up an LCP and took it to Stones River TWRA on Sunday to get some rounds through it. I put 40 JHP and 100 FMJ down range. I dropped the mag out 3 times during that session, so it's not just you. I wasn't drawing, just firing. I'll have to make some adjustments. Other than the 3 mag drops, I had no FTFs of any kind. A stiffer release spring would probably help, but so will keeping my thumb up where it's supposed to be. It's a problem on these tiny mouse guns. There's not much room between where your thumb should be and where it shouldn't be. And if you have big hands, there's no difference between those 2 areas.
  22. Just put a little duck sauce on it and imagine you're dining at the Golden Jade Panda Phoenix Palace, or whatever your local Chinese place calls itself.
  23. It looks like a lot like a Rohm RG-10 that my dad has, so a I did a little Googling with the two names together. It looks like these Imperials may have been imported by a shop in Kinston in the late 1960's and 1970's. Well, the parts anyway. Since it says made in the USA, it was assembled here, but probably from Rohm parts. A ban on these cheap i,ported guns was passed in 1968, so people started bringing in the parts and doing final assembly here. Then they could say it was made in the USA. I found one place that said the Models were 5, 7 and 11. Only the 7 was .22 short. The 5 and 11 handle short and long. <<Note: This information is sketchy at best>> I've seen low quality .22s going for $25 to $125 based on condition and just how far down the quality scale it sits. Probably in the $25-$75 range, but you never know who might pay a little more for an odd-brand. Personally, you'd have to pay me to take a Rohm or anything that looks like a Rohm. You couldn't pay me enough to ever shoot one again. My dad's Rohm sprays lead out the sides that can be felt about 10 feet away. South Carolina has banned retail sales of both Rohm and Imperial .22 handguns because they're junk with a low melting point of the frame.
  24. I sent them a message via their website. Perhaps another Stoney River in the making.... Roar, TGO...ROAR!
  25. HAARP was a conspiracy topic fifteen years ago. Can't we get some new ways to control the masses, change the weather, and cause earthquakes?
