  1. Nashville Sporting Arms has that angle covered. They're in a small strip that has a liquor store. NSA is on the left end. Google Maps "Women like a man that drinks and shoots firearms" -Unknown Hinson-
  2. FYI - Lowe's had a deal on a couple of Centurions this weekend. I think the sale goes through Sunday.
  3. Because nobody cares what the finish looks like when you're using it to knock off a Stop-N-Rob. Besides, it will just get messed up when you throw it in the river afterwards anyway.
  4. Lowes is the best. Their sale started on-line on Wednesday at 11:00pm our time. I picked out what I wanted (all items from the sales ad were on line), chose in-store pickup and paid online, then showed up late this morning with my order number. 5 minutes later I'm headed to the car with a pre-loaded cart of my stuff.
  5. A TWRA agent stopped by the hunter Ed class I attended a month or so ago. He said one problem they're having with hogs is that people were still importing them for hunting. He said that played into the decision too.
  6. I have an M&P MOE (black) and I'm very happy with it. My first AR and so far it likes the cheap stuff just fine. It's more accurate than I am. I tossed on a Primary Arms M3 red dot and a grip-pod and called it done. With their cantilevered mount for the M3 there's still room for their 5x magnifier and the MBUS rear site.
  7. Metal needs to start a "How to publically apologize on a web forum for poor customer service" training manual. That's how it's done. Precision should get a complimentary signed 1st edition.
  8. Put it in an even bigger box.
  9. What's a backpack filter? <<n00b question, I know>>
  10. I think Season 1 was better than Season 2. They built more stuff in 1, but had to roam around more in 2 which added something. All in all, Season 2 seemed too much like sitting around waiting for help/end of the experiement to arrive.
  11. I went looking for the answer to that and found this NASA site telling how they photograph from space. It's far more complex than I thought. They also say that if the lights are mercury vapor, the cities will appear blue-green, while sodium vapor will yield yellow-orange. NASA - Cities at Night: An Orbital Perspective
  12. I've always thought of asteroids as gray or brown, maybe even black, but never rouge.
  13. It is indeed the Pakistan/India border. The ISS is facing more or less eastward and is over southwestern Pakistan or southern Afghanistan looking towards India. It glows because both sides light it up so they can keep an eye on the other guys. The bright blob on the right is Karachi on the coast to the south. The bright yellow glob on the left on the near side of the border but right up close to it is Lahore. The spot 45 degrees up and right of Lahore on the India side is probably New Delhi. The lights on the Pakistan side follow the Indus river.
  14. If you're not in a hurry, keep an eye out on Craigslist. I use www.searchtempest.com to search it. I found a great deal on a high quality safe. I was looking for about 3 months before the item I was looking for was posted, but that's because I was being very picky about a couple of brands.
  15. Who is the course offered through? It sounds interesting.
  16. But in TN it is not a Fourth issue with firearms. It is a crime to be armed in public, so a LEO has a valid reason to require an HCP to be produced upon seeing a person with a firearm.
  17. I hired these guys to protect the donuts in the break room at work one time. Don't count me as a satisfied customer.
  18. It's a sad year when the AFC South looks as bad or worse than the NFC West.
  19. CHMR (AKA Charlie's Place, AKA Owl Hollow) is just outside of Spring Hill. It's about 10 minutes away from the 840/I-65 interchange. If you're on the north or west side of Murfreesboro, then it may be closer than Walden's.CHMR $40 for an annual membership then you can shoot all day every day that it's open. Closed Thursdays and the first full weekend of a month. It has a handgun area and rifle targets spaced at 25, 50, and 100 yrds. There are a couple of spring-loaded clay throwers for shotgunning and the last I heard a 200yrd range was in the works.
  20. I've gotten lots of good advice on repairs for various cars over on Automotive Forums. Here's the Sequoia forum: Sequoia - Automotive Forums .com Car Chat Glance through the first few pages. If you see the same issue in the thread titles repeatedly, consider that a common problem and decide if it's a big one or not to you. Something silly like "windshield washer hose clogged" or the like wouldn't keep me from buying a model, but a lot of transmission issues would. ETA: I read through some of the Sequoia posts. I saw nothing that concerned me. The common question is how to program the remote garage door openers. It's not a very active forum, which could mean 2 things. there aren't many problems, or people who own a Sequoia don't do their own maintenance. The Jaguar forum is a good example of this. Very few threads relative to other brands, even for their smaller sales volume.
  21. The Nashville Banner was one of the last good newspapers in the state. It has been gone for years now. The Tennessean is owned by Gannet, the people who bring you the hard hitting news of USA Today read by weary travelers in Hampton Inns across the country.
