  1. An LGS may have one, or can get one. Bud's has them too. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411546583 Also available for lefties: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411546585
  2. http://warmingglow.uproxx.com/2012/02/man-who-tries-to-live-like-bear-grylls-dies-like-christopher-mccandless The comments are awesome, though not always SFW.
  3. Someone needs to buy that place at a foreclosure auction and run it right. It's a super nice indoor shooting facility.
  4. Must have been a high cap Glock revolver again. I can't believe those things are still legal.
  5. An instant classic.
  6. I don't think you'll find prices on new guns at a show to be any better than a good price from an LGS, esp. G&L.
  7. He was spotted hanging out with this Siberian Wooly Mammoth.....
  8. I wonder if he'll need to finish up the roll then send it off for development before we see the picture. <<edit to fix tiny font size>>

  10. I'm just glad it's not an automatic Glock revolver this time.
  11. New from the United Arab Emirates: Caracal C Pistol | The Truth About Guns Check out the second picture.
  12. I had thought about the range, but not so much the ND. I remember a news article posted here a year or so ago about a guy that was shot at the range intentionally by some guys who wanted his guns. One more reason to buy me some land outside the city.
  13. If one believes that a societal collapse is imminent, then storing away some armor is a reasonable thing to do to that person. Same as having gas masks, large food stores, and 20K rounds. And at $200 or so, it's not a very big expense compared to other prep supplies. Or as Lester said, short periods of localized disorder can create the desire for it too.
  14. Nashville's flood in 2010 came really close to swamping both water treatment centers when the Cumberland crested at 51.86'. If the Cumberland hits 50' or if Wolf Creek Dam goes, it's time for Nashvillians to start filling up everything in sight. Other than that, I can't think of anything in our region that would disrupt supplies for a really long time that will give an advanced notice that it's coming. I sent a link to the WaterBob to my brother who lives in Florida though. It seems really well suited for hurricanes.
  15. I'll bite. Here's mine. They can be found on Amazon (no Form4 or CLEO signature required), or you can support your LTS (Local Toy Store)
  16. Yep. So get one or more of each.
  17. +1000 to the prior posts, especially Jonnin about the weight. My 92FS (and Taurus PT92) are range guns. That big heavy steel frame soaks up the felt recoil, especially with some nice soft Hogues. It's the only handgun model I own that my wife likes to shoot that's not a .22LR. The differences between the 92FS and the M9 are indeed very minor. The backstrap is slightly different (or at least used to be) There are some different markings between the two (including a warning to read the manual on 92FS that's absent on M9) I think the rear sight is different (3 dot vs. half-moon or "dot the i". I can't recall what's on the M9.) The front section of the frame (the dust cover?) on the M9 is straight and slightly angled on the 92FS. That's all that I can recall. I pretty much have to put them side by side to notice any differences. While we're on it, why is that part of the frame called a dust cover? It's not like the little flip open "door" dust cover on an AR platform. Does anyone know why they would be different between the two models?
  18. If you watch the video, you'll learn that it was a 9mm revolver.
  19. Translation: Capbyrd is dying for some trigger time on that BAR. WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!?!?
  20. FWIW, by staying in the parking lot and talking to some people out there, you got to see the best part of a gun show anyway.
  21. Yeah, but it can't be done. Not enough people (a) care about gun laws and are also ( willing to put their opposition to NYC gun laws ahead of their wallets.
  22. Yeah, Rick Uselton is retired law enforcement, but he was not the instructor. It was an older guy who reminded me of R. Lee Ermy in an odd sort of way. brent_strong, you may want to give the Williamson Co. Sheriff's office a call at (615) 790-5560. I know they used to do HCP classes, and I think they were F.R.E.E. that spells free. I don't know if they still have the classes or if any are coming up in the forseeable future, but it won't hurt to call.
  23. But not if you bought your Jag or BMW through Sam's Club. Those Jags and BMWs are made in China. You can't put tires for regular Jags and BMWs on the Chinese models. They don't fit. Geeez. bkelm, didn't you read any of this thread before posting?
  24. I hate to plug Uselton's in Franklin, but the instructor there was excellent. When my wife and I wanted to learn to shoot (not the HCP class, just a basic how to), we went there. We paid through the nose for it, but in fairness, it was a private lesson and it served its purpose. He took his time and was very patient with both of us. We did our HCP class together at GnL. Much cheaper, but definitely not private instruction. HCP is $65 at GnL, $125 at Uselton's. I don't know if they have a class size limit, but they don't have a lot of room. I'd suspect you'd be in a class of 10 or less, possibly even just yourself. <<edit to correct GnL price>>
