  1. icon -a sign or representation that stands for its object by virtue of a resemblance or analogy to it. Luger P08 Beretta M9/92 Glock G17
  2. Nashville's NPR (WPLN) covered the story this morning. Their headline was "Appeals Court Rules Against Radnor Lake Rambo." Who says bed-wetting liberals at WPLN don't have a sense of humor? That's an awesome nickname for L.E.
  3. I think BigK meant the only ones who know Walt's the cook are Skyler, Lydia, and Jesse. Plus pretty much the entire staff at Vamanos Pest...and the guys at the scrapyard...Skinny Pete and Badger might know too. There are plenty of threats out there. At some point, I'd expect the cartels from south of the border to come looking for some revenge and to regain their turf. Gus took out the major players in the part of Mexico he was affiliated with, but there's plenty more in Mexico, Colombia, etc. Plus the new crew from AZ. They know they can make money with Walt, but they can also kill him and take over New Mexico.
  4. I've been happy with the Primary Arms red dots. Maybe overkill for what you want. Academy usually has some Bushnell stuff in stock. https://www.primarya..._Arms_s/586.htm
  5. Messier. That's a good word. Then again, after Season 1's bathtub fiasco, I'm not sure it can get messier.
  6. 20 semi would be my choice. If she's confident with the other guns (rifle/handgun) then by all means, let her try the 12. If she's skittish about trying it, then get her a lesson with a pro. I was very happy with an intro lesson fromTerry Hettrick @ the Nashville Gun Club off of Briley. My wife will be taking her first lesson with him in a few weeks. He uses a well worn in 20ga semi for his students.
  7. Put your extra layer of subfloor down with screws, not nails. Helps prevent squeeks later.
  8. The problem is that you guys are using logic. This is about their feeeeeelings, not what's required, prudent, or even logical. Good luck with the purchase.
  9. In that case, a signed copy of your C&R and a signed and dated bill of sale with the serial number may be sufficient to give them their warm-fuzzy feeling. If not, $25 is pretty nominal to get rid of that evil boom stick.
  10. I agree with pcrc11, but if the seller is nervous about having it, they'll want to cover themselves in every way possible. A cheap FFL transfer gets that done, even if it's just theatre for peace of mind
  11. $10 TICS background is extra and goes directly to the state. D&T is $15 transfer for TGOers. So total of $25. Give your FFL of choice a call to ask them how they'd want to handle it.
  12. Another tip for sellers: If you're selling a used gun for more than a new one online + transfer, you're probably not going to get very far. If you bought from a LGS and paid more than the new price at say, Bud's, it just means you may be eating that difference just to be in the ball park. Then you have to discount it on top of that to make a buyer want a used one from you instead of a new one from the online source. If you chose to pay a premium for the service you get at your LGS, that's great. someone helped with the purchase and that adds value to you. However, a second hand buyer isn't getting any more service from you than they are from Bud's or GlockWorld or CDNN or..... Example: A G19 from many online sellers is $499 + TICS + Transfer = $524 out the door. LNIB G19 @ $550 sells slowly if ever LNIB G19 @ $500 sells LNIB G19 @ $450 sells fast In other words "I got this new at Larry's House of Boomsticks last month and just want to get out of it what I've got in it" usually doesn't work. You're of course welcome to list your item for any price you want, but don't be surprised when there's no activity on a $575 G19 with some scratches and "slight holster wear". YMMV
  13. If they're incorporated, the company is basically a legal person. It should be like any other face-to-face deal. But, if they're worried about it, just do it through an FFL. It's probably not necessary, but it's not expensive. D&T in Rivergate does some of the best priced transfers and they're a TGO Vendor.
  14. http://gun-deals.com/index.php It's a pretty good comparison tool. Click Ammo Deals at the top. SG ammo is usually one of the best on the list.
  15. I meant that every death is somehow connected to Walt and the meth, not that he's the direct cause, or even the start of the chain. It's meant to show that every event is part of a chain, or series of chains, and not always intentional. Every action has unforseen consequences. Walt didn't break Ted's neck, but it wouldn't have happened had a chain of events not occured, with the blue stuff being somewhere on that chain. He cooked his books. He hired Skyler. IFT. She paid his IRS bill with Walt's money (which she wouldn't have if he hadn't started cooking). Etc.... It didn't start with Walt, but he's somehow, even if indirectly, connected with every death/near death on the show. Perhaps it's Vince Gilligan's view of fatalism or something similar. Jesse didn't see the plant.
  16. Every death has been somehow connected to Walt or his meth. If someone dies, it's somehow attributable to him or the blue.
  17. Private schools are the same as public schools. The hard part is where does the school start and the church end. If the school is in a separate building (I'm thinking of Nashville Christian vs. the Church of Christ next door) then you would be good to go. If the classrooms double as sunday school rooms and the sanctuary is also the gymnasium (sanctinasium), I'd be cautious about not calling that a school. I wonder if it depends on the ownership. I'm thinking of how public parks when schools are using them become de facto school property during the event. Does the church become a school M-F from 8-3, if the church owns the property/buildings? If so, you're good on Sunday mornings and at evening church events, provided no school event is occurring at the same time.
  18. Out of curiosity, you know, in case I ever need a lawyer to hide $5 million in illicit cash for me. Where does the attorney-client privilege end in a case like Gomey showing up at the bank? Attorney dude has a bag of cash and a bunch of bank deposit boxes. There's nothing illegal about that. Abnormal, but not illegal. What leverage does the DEA have in a case like that to get the lawyer to talk, assuming the lawyer's not wetting his pants and squealing like this guy is. There's presumably no warrant involved to search the bank vault. Doesn't the lawyer have an expectation of privacy in the vault? Did the bank violate that?
  19. Oh yeah...It's hard to remember where everyone was at different events. In that case, I wonder if it's just a hole in the writting. Gus did the original pushing by trying to get Jesse off of Walt's team since he didn't trust a junkie. Bringing Gale in sort of forced Walt's hand once he figured out Gale would make him obsolete and into some very expensive overhead. Maybe Mike was just mad that he'd lost his good gig with Gus and was blaming Walt, even though Gus had a big part in bringing himself down.
  20. I forgot about that. Mike may not have known about that either. I'm sure he knew Victor was gone, but not necessarily how/why. Mike's not the type that asks questions about something like that.
  21. Maybe, but Mike wouldn't have known that, only the viewers. Gus could have moved his cook lab if Hank brought too much heat on the laundromat. Who knows what other businesses Gus had that could support a lab. Hank's good, but I think Gus was better. He had more resources and fewer rules. After his play on the cartel, Gus may have even been able to move it all south of the border, but where Walt and Jesse would fit in with a southern lab is another story. Sending Jesse down to teach the Mexican cooks how it's done tells me that's what Gus was planning all along.
  22. Yeah, that's the way I remembered it. I think you can chalk that one up to a direct kill by Walt. It may not have been intentional, but his action and subsequent inaction directly caused her death. I liked Jane. She was much more interesting than Jesse's current "keep your mouth shut and don't ask about the money while I play X-Box with your kid" girlfriend.
