  1. Every group needs a heel. It was Shane, now it's Lori. They'll have to have someone else moving up that line before Lori gets offed. It can't be one of the rest of the current group as they're all (for the most part) decent so it will have to be a character that hasn't been introduced yet. Perhaps one of the live prisoners.
  2. Yes it's true that you won't be charged with violating a no-gun zone state law (or any other section of TCA part 39-17-13) IF you're involved in a self-defense shoot. 39-17-1322 is what covers that. Getting caught and not being in a good self-defense shoot is another matter. That's where there's no test case yet regarding gunbusters/properly worded prohibitions (39-17-1359).
  3. Lori: No, it's pretty much a consensus that she sucks and needs to get eaten from the inside out by her walker baby. Carl: It's amazing what the hard winter did to get rid of his whining and make him grow up. Let's hope it sticks. Clearing the prison yard: Why didn't they just stake a lot more through the fence (incl. the outer fence) before Rick went on his run to close the upper gate? So what if the upper yard walkers come down to the lower yard to the fence. It just makes the upper AND lower yard clearing go a lot faster and safer and uses little if any of the scarce ammo. They wasted a lot when a sharp pipe/fire poker through the head would have been sufficient. Hershel snack: Will they never learn to stick everyone in the head, even if they aren't moving? Preventative medicine and all. The same goes for the guard up in the crows nest in their cell block. Sure, it looks like a clean head shot killed him, but why risk it? And the coolest effect of the night award goes to.....pulling the helmet off the guard. That was disgustingly awesome.
  4. Stand your ground just means you don't have to retreat before using force, but nothing says that you can't. It may very well be the best option depending on the situation
  5. I don't recall the 1st episode being B&W. Was it re-aired as B&W, or did I miss a pre-pilot episode?
  6. cans? Cans?? CANS?!?!?!? Daryl don't need to stinkin' cans!!!!
  7. Keep it up Nikki. You're doing good work and making a difference!
  8. Our sales tax runs from 9.25% to 9.75%. (A huge difference is they also have a state income tax on top of that high sales tax.) We have a similar requirement to report non-sales-taxed purchases to the state and pay the sales tax. Nobody does it here, and I suspect it's the same in Illinois. They're proposing a tax on ammo and firearms. We already have an offical one on ammo and a defacto one on firearms. It's almost like we're sitting in the bow of a sinking boat and looking at people in the stern like they're morons for letting their boat sink. I know we're nowhere near Chicagoland in 2A rights. I guess I just want to point out how all these things that seem innocuous by themselves add up. A $0.10 tax on ammo. A $10 tax on firearms. A political-theater training course and permit to carry outside your home/business (tack on some more $ for those). It's hard to take huge issue with any one of those. But a simple change from shall issue to may issue changes it all drastically. I don't see that happening any time soon, but only because we have groups like the TFA and active individuals working with their state reps and senators. We have to get involved and stay involved or we'll wake up one day and read on another state's version of TGO about how far we've gone down and let our rights get taken away.
  9. There is not. Just shotgun shells and metallic cased cartridges. $0.10 per box. TCA 70-3-101
  10. Erm....fellas, we have a state tax on ammunition.....It was, according to an interview with one of the Cook county lawmakers, looked at as a model for their proposal..... I really don't mind our $0.10/box stamp tax since it all goes to the wildlife resources fund to protect wild habitat and public hunting lands.
  11. Ringer has been that 3-yard back. His career average is 4.1. Now he's hurt for 4-6 weeks.
  12. Runco, that's not necessarily the worst idea in the world. A small group of people with those could carry quite a bit of gear and supplies. You could mount "deterents" on any number of those frame bars. The off-road capability would be limited, but that could probably be corrected by a good bicycle mechanic. Adding larger wheels, mountain bike suspension, and different gear ratios would probably do it. Likewiese, it could ber rigged for faster speeds, but on-road only. It still takes energy, so food would be more of an issue but gasoline/diesel would n't be.
  13. Agreed about CJ, but keep in mind that the Titans are last in a lot of categories in O and D. The problem is on both sides of the ball. Only 3 people have control over that. The head coach, the GM and the owner.
  14. Not really. Assuming the car would allow a charge through the charging port while running (don't know if that's possible or not), the car is using power faster than something like a EU2000 can supply it. My math isn't exact perfect here, but you'll get the idea. Let's look at the EU2000. It has a max load of 2000w (2KwH) at 16.7 amps. It's rated load is 1600W (1.6KwH) at 13.3 amps. It's also 120V only. It does not have a 220V outlet like the larger (and heavier) EU3000 or EU6500. It has a 4 hour run time at the rated load, not 8 hours. Even less at full load. The longer run times like 8 hours come when you're not working it as hard. At 1/4 load it's supposed to go 9.6 hours. I don't doubt those numbers. My EU6500 lives up to its ratings and run times. I'll assume the BOV in question is a Nissan Leaf. It has a battery capacity of 22KwH and a max range of 138 miles at 38mph, or about 3.5 hours of drive time. That's assuming the most ideal conditions. We'll ignore the aerodynamic drag of that EU2000 duck taped to the roof. that's an average consumption of 6.28 KwH. Putting the two together (and assuming we're at 1.6KwH on the genny) gives us close to 14 hours (22KwH/1.6KwH) to fully charge it from "empty". Nissan says it needs a 15 amp load, minimum, but for argument's sake, let's assume the 13.3amps on the genny will still work. You're going to run through 14 hours of generator (14hours / 4hour run time =3.5 tanks x 1.1 gal capacity = 3.85 gallons of gas) for 3.5 hours of driving to travel 138 miles. It would be easier to have a 40Mpg standard gas car (like a Ford Focus or SkyActive Mazda3) and drive 154 miles on that same amount of fuel. Pretty close to the same distance on same amount of fuel (give or take a little) without having to drive 38 mph and stop every 3.5 hours to camp out for 14 hours to refuel. Better yet, something diesel powered like some VWs (and hopefully a Mazda3 or CX-5 in the next few years) so you can fill it up with other stuff besides pretty fuel from the refinery. Running the genny while driving would get you further than the 138 miles and 3.5 hours, but not a lot. I don't think the relationship is exactly linear. I'd guess something like a 15-20% boost, but another tank of gas in the genny to get that. http://www.nissanusa...ctric-car/range http://powerequipmen.../models/eu2000i Now if you're looking at something smaller like a Zero X motorcycle, you could charge it in about 1.5 hours with the EU2000, and ride for maybe about an hour on that charge, assuming you're carrying your own weight, your gear, the genny, and some fuel. Besides bugging out, a bike like this is just cool. A motorcycle that sounds like a bicycle.
  15. I don't think Manning ever really considered coming here. He already knew that the front office was in disarray, the coaching staff was in flux, the receiver core is an old-but-still-good Nate Washington with a couple of TEs plus some guys that stay hurt, and an overrated RB*. Not to mention he's smart enough to go to a team not owned by Bud Adams. He turned down an extra $6m/year to take Denver over Tennessee. That was money wisely left on the table. If Bud won't pay for an elite receiver core and a top-shelf coach, he'll never get an elite QB. CJ is a solid 1000-1300 yard RB. That's not chump change, but it's hardly best in the league. I'm not a CJ fan by any means and I think 2009 was a fluke, but keep in mind that in his worst year he still broke 1,000 yards. That puts him in the top 10-15 rushers in the league. 2008: 1228 yds 2009: 2006 yds 2010: 1364 yds 2011: 1047 yds
  16. Do I understand this correctly then? A sporterized Saiga made in Russia and imported as-is It can be bought/sold without modification because it met the requirements at the time of import. An end consumer can change the furniture and make the change for AK-mags, but doesn't have to change enough other parts to get to the magic number of 10 because they are not a licensed manafyuacturer. If Arsenal does it, they have to get all 10 because they are a licensed manufacturer. Either way, it can change hands after the "conversion" without worry (State laws excluded). Is that correct?
  17. I've read it 3 times. It just gets funnier.
  18. That's a fact. Adams fired Fisher. It was his decision, not the GM's. I'm of the opinion that until Bud opens up that wallet, things won't really change. Sure we'll have the occasional good season with a deep run in the playoffs, but there's no dynasty in our future. As of July, TN was #2 in the amount of money under the salary cap, second only to Jacksonville. I don't know the financials of the team and Bud. It may be a smart business move to look for low-cost value players (unproven rookies, or aging veterans) and augmenting that with a few key roles in their prime (CJ, McCourty, Roos). I can say it's not the most winning strategy ever put together. In the end, it's a business. Bud wants a Super Bowl. I suspect he wants a fat wallet more.
  19. I've finally broken down and agreed with the haters that Titans football is boring. Watching the big plays on the marquee games (like last night's Saints vs. Chargers) is exciting. If the Titans get a pickup of more than 6 yards, we celebrate like it's a touchdown. That's nothing new with Munchoke. Fisher played that same kind of smash-mouth game. It may or may not be a winning startegy, but it certainly is a boring one. I wonder how much more losing the team can take before the seats start to look like a Tuesday afternoon baseball game.
  20. While I agree to an extent, that only goes so far in my opinion. Some of those no-carry areas have extremely unique places, objects, and experiences that I believe are worth it. Washington D.C. is perhaps the single greatest and most compact example of that. It's the home of The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, the most significant buildings, memorials, cemeteries, and monuments in our nation, and host to the greatest museum collections of artifacts and antiquities that map our American heritage. Chicago is a fun city to visit, but one's life isn't somehow worse off for not having seen it. Washington D.C., in my opinion, enriches our lives by visiting and seeing what a great nation we were and are, and it inspires us to make it even better for ourselves and for the Americans who will come after us. Just stay out of the 'hoods. That's just my opinion. I understand and respect how others come to a different conclusion, about both visiting non-carry places and about how valuable D.C. is.
  21. Some guy came through the local CVS one day when my wife and I were shopping. He had a rather large revolver (I don't know wheel guns very well) in a cowboy setup with extra rounds on the belt, the whole John Wayne getup. He walked past about 10 people and I'm certain that none of them noticed, including Mrs. monkeylizard. The clerk may have noticed, but certainly didn't look concerned. Since then I really stopped being too concerned about whether or not mine is showing.
  22. I helped found a "Possum Club" in college. I'll have to look into some tickets. Keep your stick on the ice.
