I don't know if it's a policy in all parks or just specific ones, but I know I saw a sign at either Chickasaw or Frozen Head stating that camping in the park for use as a base camp for hunting nearby non-park land was prohibited.

Best State for NFA Trust?

+1 for Chip Cain. Bonus: He's local for Nashville TGOers. -
So I was inspired and started playing with some ideas...
monkeylizard replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
What about the first one, but with the TGO bullet-hole logo instead of the ARs? No faded background needed. That might be simpler to print. With the full TGO logo on the front left pocket area. -
I haven't been able to find 22LR for anything. WallyWorld in 100 Oaks got in a shipment and I cleaned them out. My appologies to the next guy.

I think the "snappy" factor of the .40 gets accentuated the shorter the barrel gets. I can't tell a huge amount of difference between a full size XD in .40 vs. a Glock G17, but there's a lot of difference between an XDsc in .40 and a Glock G26.

In the market for a new Gun Safe- a weight question
monkeylizard replied to superduty's topic in General Chat
If you're really concerned bout it, go in your crawl and look at your floor joists. You can see which way they are running and their spacing (anywhere from 12" to 24" but probably 16"). If you can position the safe to span 2 of them, it will distribute the weight a bit better. You can measure from an HVAC air duct boot in the crawl to a joist, then measure the same distance in the house from that matching vent. That gets you on top of one joist. Then measure out the joist spacing to the next joist. -

My mother-in-law doesn't bow my floors. Your safe will be fine. -
Ford avoided the bailouts by lots of dumb luck. they restructured their long term debt just before the credit markets dried up. Having more favorable labor relations than GM helped, but had their debt restructuring been delayed it would have been much more expensive and possibly resulted in needing bailout money. The BMW jab was just a joke, but I think you BMW drivers knew that ;)

If they weren't doing big business in China (which inherently means working with and paying kickbacks to the Communist party) they'd be stupid. China is building roads like crazy and the market demand for personal automobiles is incredible. All of the US (and some of the foreign-based) automakers have been somehow partially funded by our gov't. If not directly with bailouts then with grants and loans for improving fuel efficiency, battery technology, hybrids, safety, etc. It's important to know that certain brands are being burned into the Chinese collective psyche and it's critical that our companies get in there fast and establish themselves. Audi = government officials while VW = quality and Buick =luxury. BMW is apparently known to be driven by stuck up elitist, so that's one thing we have in common with China. :) A wealthy woman ran over a peasant woman for scratching her BMW and did no time for the crime. It doesn't seem to have hurt BMW sales though. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/apr/08/china.jonathanwatts See more stereotypes here: http://factsanddetails.com/china.php?itemid=314%20=13%20=86

You'll still need a pocket holster for pocket carry. I've found my PM9 (more or less the same as a CM9) works great in a Remora holster carried IWB. Super easy to take off/on. No clips or belt loops and it stays put all day. I can go bike riding and it stays in place. Infinite cant adjustment too. Most days I forget I have it.

NBC David Gregory Violates Federal Gun Laws Live On TV
monkeylizard replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That's nothing. The Brady Bunch dude that did his "undercover expose" on how easy it is to buy at gun shows with no ID or background checks is a Virginia resident and purchased handguns in Texas and Michigan. Then posted the evidence all over YouTube. Do you think the BATFE ever checked into that? -
No, it's more like putting a kill switch in the car that turns it off every 10 miles of driving, but all you have to do to turn it back on again is turn the key. Won't stop someone from driving 30, 60 , or even 90 miles who shouldn't be driving in the first place while making it a pain in the butt for responsible drivers.

We must have bought our boats at the same place. Mine had a hole in it and sank. Sorry for your loss.

I though Metalhead confirmed that it was not GnL that bought the place. Am I misremembering? Torrin, you also have CHMR not far from Franklin. It's all outdoors, but cheap. $60/year.

Son asked me a question to settle an argument
monkeylizard replied to Chas.'s topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Spiffy is pointing out the grammar. Like most other laws, nothing's actually stopping anyone from carrying in their vehicle w/o a permit. It's illegal, but you can do it. I wouldn't advise that as a wise course of action, and one certainly should not do it. -
That was their Black Friday price. Great price on a solid firearm.

I have Peltor Tactical 7S muffs. I like them. Outdoors I use them by themselves. Indoors I sometimes add some 3M foam plugs from Home Depot. -
I'm pretty sure a gift is the same as a sale. Person-to-person requires an FFL in the receiver's state.

Does Gov't know what firearms you have?
monkeylizard replied to ohbehave's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
With an army of paper pushers they could know what you bought through an FFL. They can't know if you still have it or not as private sales don't require a paper trail. They'd also not know what you bought from private sales. If the fed or a state did a registration requirement, there would be penalties for non compliance. They couldn't find the one you burie...."sold" but you couldn't do much with it. Similar to having a known stolen or banned gun today.
