  1. I'm wondering if it was on a shelf in a safe and the door opened (triggers the motion sensor) would it transmit the photo(s) before the thief has time to grab the camera and pull it out from its power supply.
  2. If it e-mails a photo quickly, that could be a useful thing to put in a safe. How long does it take for it to send the pic from when the motion sensor gets tripped?   door opens photo taken photo sent
  3. Or at the SHTF Day Spa and Salon. ;)   Great use for a couple of milsurp wool blankets. Very handy.
  4.   I know, but Vontar was questioning how we get 32 gun deaths/day and used that chart as evidence that it's not true. After doing some more research, my numbers above are flawed, and this is how you'd get to 32/day.   Numbers from 2007: 31,224 firearm-related deaths (Total) 17,352 suicides (55.6%) 12,632 homicides(40.5%)   12,632 / 365 = 34.6 per day. Given variations in the total deaths each year, whoever claimed 32 was just looking at a different year, but it's certainly not a crazy number.   Notice that's only homicides. Total gun deaths per day in 2007 were 31,224 / 365 = 85.5 per day.   That doesn't include non-fatal shootings, which were happening at a rate of about 207.35 per day in 2000 (52,447 intentional + 23,237 accidental = 75,684 / 365 = 207.35). I don't know how that has changed in the past 12 years, but I don't think it's drastic one way or another. We've tended to have a generally declining rate of gun violence, but not a steep decline.
  5. Vontar, that chart is misleading if you're using it to discuss murder by guns, as it does not include handguns. It's not 32/day though, even with handguns factored in. In 2010, we had 6,009 deaths using pistols (incl. suicides and accidents). That's about 16.5/day. Add in the 320 or so with rifles and about the same with shotguns, and we're still under 20/day. I agree that a ban on semi-auto rifles is silly given the statistics.
  6.   Right, because being shot by a "civilian" round like .308 Win, .30-06, .270 Win, or .30-30 is like a kiss from grandma.
  7. No, according to that, WE'RE SURROUNDED BY LIBERALS!!!!!      The red line around the border
  8. You can join the Garand Collectors' Association club for $25, then order from CMP.   http://www.thegca.org/store/new_membership.html
  9. I love the anti-aircraft iron sight....it's an apple corer/slicer.   Well played.
  10. I want to know how you convinced Tex not to eat that whole package of Lance snack crackers.
  11.   Or that 16,000 children die every day world wide from hunger and hunger-related cause. That's one every 5 seconds....roughly the time it took to read this post.
  12. Dang Spots! When do you get one of those "TGO phones" ?  :)
  13.   I don't know if it's a policy in all parks or just specific ones, but I know I saw a sign at either Chickasaw or Frozen Head stating that camping in the park for use as a base camp for hunting nearby non-park land was prohibited.
  14. Scarface - "Say hello to mah li'l frien'!!!!"
  15. +1 for Chip Cain.   Bonus: He's local for Nashville TGOers.
  16. What about the first one, but with the TGO bullet-hole logo instead of the ARs? No faded background needed. That might be simpler to print.   With the full TGO logo on the front left pocket area.
  17. I haven't been able to find 22LR for anything. WallyWorld in 100 Oaks got in a shipment and I cleaned them out. My appologies to the next guy.
  18. They don't see a dime of my money because I only get $0.02 worth of product for that dime. They are now and have always been overpriced. their "Sale" prices put them at other retailers' everyday prices....maybe.
  19. I think the "snappy" factor of the .40 gets accentuated the shorter the barrel gets. I can't tell a huge amount of difference between a full size XD in .40 vs. a Glock G17, but there's a lot of difference between an XDsc in .40 and a Glock G26.
  20. If you're really concerned bout it, go in your crawl and look at your floor joists. You can see which way they are running and their spacing (anywhere from 12" to 24" but probably 16"). If you can position the safe to span 2 of them, it will distribute the weight a bit better. You can measure from an HVAC air duct boot in the crawl to a joist, then measure the same distance in the house from that matching vent. That gets you on top of one joist. Then measure out the joist spacing to the next joist.
  21. My mother-in-law doesn't bow my floors. Your safe will be fine.
  22. Ford avoided the bailouts by lots of dumb luck. they restructured their long term debt just before the credit markets dried up. Having more favorable labor relations than GM helped, but had their debt restructuring been delayed it would have been much more expensive and possibly resulted in needing bailout money. The BMW jab was just a joke, but I think you BMW drivers knew that ;)
