  1. We're about a year into the apocalypse. Passing him by would be a very realistic thing. Yes, they could use all the good people they can get, but they were on their way out to get supplies. Hardly a good time to pickup a stranger and risk getting murdered and robbed. Maybe they would have helped if they were on the way back. Lock him in a prison cell until you figure out what to do with him. I don't know....     They said on Talking Dead tonight that one of the themes this season is "you can't survive alone". Morgan being alone went crazy, the hispanic family on the bridge wasn't doing too hot on their own, and now backpacker guy.
  2. Tthey don't "make" laws any more than you or I do, but certain groups of people have more sway than others on those who do. In this case, LEO organizations are seen by some lawmakers as SMEs and are listening to them.
  3.     The deer carcass guy was the lone prisoner that Rick threw out to the walkers. The character's name was "Andrew". Oscar killed him at the end of "Killer Within" down in the generator room. The one watching from the woods was also Andrew, since that camera shot stopped being used after they killed him and it was associated with the one who left the deer carcass. It was discussed in one of The Talking Dead aftershows, IIRC. If there was a tattoo insconsistency, it was just a goof, not a plot line.   The sniper in the watchtower is dead. Headshot. They showed it in slow-mo on The Talking Dead during their "In Memoriam" bit.   The zombie-wagon was the Gov's.   3.5 is slow....This last epipsode did nothing much to move the story along.       I'm still trying to figure out their transportation choices. It's the end of the world and the best things they can find are a 1996 Dodge Ram, a Hyundai Tucson, and Dale's old broke-down POS Winnebago? Looks like it finally bites them in the next episode. Tallahassee had the right idea....
  4.   This. Gun-people know "Magpul". Non-gun-people know "Beretta". SNOWBAAAAAAAALLLLL!
  5. It just goes to show that CTD is still trying to screw us. They're dead to me. SGAmmo is awesome. Thanks for the notice of in-stock.
  6. Yep. When you want to read a thread, right click it an choose "open in new tab". It will create a new tab for that thread, leaving your original tab on the "new content" list right where you left it.
  7. Yep. And I just learned about clicking the dot/star beside each topic. It takes you directly to the first unread post. Stars mean its a thread you have commented on.
  8.   Very true. I was buddies with a sergeant at the alarm shop at Bitburg AFB in Germany. A few years earlier, that crew was sent off to a cruise missle site to strip it down before turning it over to the German gov't as part of an arms reduction. They had a retina scanner from that place that had zero paperwork. Nobody knew they had it. Nobody knew where it was supposed to go. Any of them were unofficially welcome to it, but what are you going to do with something like that? Eventually someone will ask why you have a multi-million dollar retina scanner protecting your man-cave. When Bitburg closed, I assume it went to the Spangdahlem alarm shop...one more step removed from any paper trail and one step closer to a black market sale, I guess.
  9. Got three. One for each vehicle and one for the bag.   Thanks for the tip!
  10. You're reading the letter of the law correctly. By the letter of the law, yes you can be arrested for being armed and then have to present your HCP to the judge to get out of it.   In "reality" that's not going to happen for a whole host of reasons, not least of which is that no cop wants to have to explain to his captain or the judge why he's wasting everyone's time for no reason.   As I understand it, the nuance of TN making an HCP a "defense" to an unlawful act is that it opens up options for Law Enforcement to do things legally such as confiscate the weapon during a stop. You're breaking the law by having the loaded gun, so they can take it from you while they check out your "defense" in the form of an HCP. Basically, they get to treat you like a criminal until they have solid proof that you aren't, because by the letter of the law, you are a criminal by being armed.   If the law against being armed was worded to be null and void for HCP holders rather than just a defense to that law, then law enforcement probably couldn't legally do that since you wouldn't actually be breaking any laws. They could still stop you and ask for your permit if they saw the gun, but could not take it during the stop.   Again, that's just as I understand it, but the reality is that with an HCP you're good to go as long as you're not in a prohibited place.   As OS said, read up on 39-17-13xx.
  11. I told you Gov. Perry would try to land Magpul.
  12. What would have been awesome would be if the Gov's Zombie Wagon had been a converted ice cream truck....complete with music and a clown head.
  13. S&W handled an issue with my Walther P22. Service was excellent. I didn't know Smith was no longer handling their support. That's disappointing.
  14. I'm confused. Did xRUSTYx just offer to buy a gun or a girlfriend from TDR?
  15. I'm wondering if Woodbury has a secret ammo factory. They sure did pointlessly burn through a bunch of it. Rick's team too, but not as badly. I want to know why everyone isn't carrying a large blade at this point.
  16. They don't have enough people to do the job. they need the new group to come back.
  17. Do you mean like this one? http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/60268-mags-loaded-or-unloaded/ or this one? http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/56646-magazine-question/ or this one? http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/51709-keep-extra-mags-loaded/ or this one? http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/17310-magazines-full-or-empty/   :)   Kalel, those threads are all in the Gear and Accessories forum. If you were just searching the Long guns forum, I can see how you'd miss them.
  18.     Remington didn't take out a full-paged ad in the paper saying they were going to move if the state passed further bans. Magpul did. They would have been just fine had they not done that. I respect them for doing what they did. If their home state wants to remove part of their customer base, good for them for standing up for themselves. If they don't move, it's a giant flounce. I'll respect them less as a company, but I'd still buy their products beacsue I don't know of any real alternatives. Nothing else that I know of is as good, and they're still Made in the USA.   Something tells me that the costs of making the move will be greatly if not entirely offset by a sweetheart tax deal from another state and the loads of good-will this will produce in the enthusiast community. We're their customer base and they know it. They're probably not worried if the panic buyers don't buy their one P-Mag (but they will because there's a shortage of them so they must be awesome). They know that their bread and butter are guys like DMark who said  he buys them, gives them as gifts, recommends them to friends, and recommends them to students. That's where they get one person in a position of influence to like their products and they make thousands of sales because of it. A flounce hurts that good-will.   Who here would try something new if Dolomite or Hickok45 said it was awesome? What if they said it sucks? That's the power of word-of-mouth from respected figures in a niche market of enthusiasts.       xRustyx, I think you're right. I read that between the lines when Magpul said they can quickly move PMag production. The fact they know that means they've looked into it.
  19. Did you dial "0" from the men's room to call in a shoe-shine boy?  :)   That place is so cool. I went in yesterday and noticed that Capone's hiding alcove has been permanently covered by the mirror. It's to the left of the shoe shine stands. You can see at the base of the wall beneath the mirror where the tiles don't line up right.
  20. Liberal university professor hates guns, says republicans and southern gun-owners are scared racists, loves the USSR.   In other news, the sun is hot and so is Kate Upton.
  21. I'd love to see them in TN, but I suspect TX would be the more likely destination. There's a risk for them to be facing the same issue in any other state some years or decades from now, but that's vanishingly small in Texas. Gov. Perry has been actively recruiting freedom-loving companies to relocate to Texas, so I expect he has already called Fitzpatrick. Landing Magpul would give hime some nice political capital. I'd guess Texas will offer a sweetheart deal.
  22.   You're technically correct. Magpul Industries is incorporated so it does have one or more stockholders.   If Fitzpatrick has at least 51% of the shares (and I suspect he does) then it's going to behave more like a sole-proprietership and Oh Shoot is right. What Fitzpatrick says they'll do is what they'll do.
  23. They locked a Pakistani citizen in a 7-Eleven cell?   Well played, my good sirs, well played.
  24. Skip this silly kinetic warfare. Go straight to the psychological warfare. Hide a Think Geek Annoy-A-Tron in their cubicles and watch them surrender.
