  1.   Give it time. We're only on page 4 and the night is young.
  2. Do you know how to make a small fortune in the airline industry?                 Start with a large fortune and buy an airline.
  3.   My first thought was that a sasquatch suit on the far edge of the camera's range would be way funny.
  4. It would have been funny if Fuzzy had said "yeah, but one of my signatures on eBay is worth two of his."
  5. well, yeah. But that doesn't tell me anything about "legislative intent". Do lawyers arguing their cases use "legislative intent" to try to skew the court's interpretation of the written law?
  6. Tinfoil....duct tape....cardboard     Kentucky Conan needs none of that
  7. This is a  side-bar from http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/69954-cop-threatens-to-shoot-lawful-cc-owner-then-arrests-him/ I didn't want to keep derailing that topic it any further.     What role, if any, does "legislative intent" play with the enforcement of a law?   If lawmakers' discussions are such that one could infer they mean the law to do one thing, but a plain reading of their enacted law clearly does something else, does their intent matter? If so, who's intent? It's not like they all think about an issue exactly the same way so any legislator may disagree with another over intent yet both vote 'Yea' on the bill.
  8. I started a new thread on legislative intent to keep from derailing this one any further. I think this side-bar conversation has some valid discussion left in it, so here we go: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/70011-legislative-intent/           ETA: Robert quoted me before I edited this post with the link to the new thread.
  9. After what he has said about the parking lot bill, if I had an explanation of legislative intent from Ron Ramsey in one hand, and a pile of dog poop in the other, I'd have 2 handfulls of dog poop.   I don't know the man, and don't mean to impugn his character, but anyone with a 5th grade reading level could see that the bill doesn't say what he said it says. I don't know why he seemed shocked to hear that the AG also thinks it doesn't say what he said it says.
  10. From the crazy shots I saw the Top Shot All-Stars pulling off, I'd think a Volquartsen Custom 10-22 of some flavor would be towards the top of any list of crazy-accurate .22 rifles. Lots of options to make it "yours".
  11.   Please, not another thread about Memphis......       :D
  12. Baby in #5 is like 'Say what?!?!? Get me outta here!!!!"   Is that a goat in the next to last pic?
  13. I was a big Star Wars fan in my younger days. Back when we were all signing up for free e-mail accounts about 15 years ago I wanted a Star Wars related one, but the common ones were of course all taken. I didn't want one with an unremarkble number tacked on (seriously, who would remember BobaFett1057@ hotmail.com?). So I kept trying random Star Wars related names until I found one that was available.   A monkeylizard is that thing in Jabba the Hutt's palace in Return of the Jedi that sits at the end of his tail and is kind of like his pet. My avatar is a cartoon version of the same. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070301021921/starwars/images/c/c1/Kowakian_monkey-lizard_AA.jpg
  14. Since you liked Tin Angel, you may want to check out Bound'ry. They get creative with their flavors in a way that's similar to Tin Angel. http://boundryrestaurant.com/     I should have mentioned Soulshine Pizza too. It's a newer place on Division (close to Vandy) that's getting good press. I haven't tried them yet. Live music on some nights. It's a regional "chain" that started in Mississippi (3 locations there) and added Nashville as their 4th and latest location.
  15. How does that Greek surplus stuff from CMP do in these? I'm ready to order one and need something to feed it of course.
  16. Loveless Cafe is posted with gunbusters.
  17. You gotta buy some property with a bat-filled cave. Make yer own.  :D   well...black powder anyway. I have no idea how one would make modern gunpwder.
  18. Nashville is bad anywhere around downtown for a few miles in every direction except West End/Broadway. Especially 'norf' Nashville including Bordeaux. Don't let the diversity-lovin' hippies in East Nashville fool you. It's as rough there as any other place if you turn the wrong corner.
  19.   You just described my current pair of yard cutting shoes.
  20.     The law requires you to carry liability insurance on all vehicles driven on public roadways. That's insurance that covers the other guy and his property. The law doesn't care what happens to you or your vehicle if you're at fault. That's your own business. It's actually one of the better laws out there in that it gives you personal freedom to have or not have insurance on yourself, but you're not going to screw/get screwed by someone else as long as everyone's following the law on this one. It's not uncommon for a policy on a relatively low-cost vehicle like many bikes and older cars to not have coverage for damage to that vehicle. You'd still have liability insurance and may have medical coverage for yourself though even without the physical damage coverage on your own vehicle.
  21. Our local award winning distillery is Corsair distillery, also open for tours. http://www.corsairartisan.com/ If you're a beer guy, check out Yazoo Brewing Co. They have tours and tastings on Saturdays. http://www.yazoobrew.com/ Blackstone on West End close to Vandy is a brew-pub that makes their own beer on site. Bosco's is a regional brew-pub semi-chain (4 or 5 locations from  Little Rock to Nashville). It's a popular place for beer lovers too.
  22.   Not really. It's dated. There are better choices. If you want a beer and bratwurst, The Pharmacy in East Nashville is better. the problem with East Nashville is that they have a serious infestation of hipsters. ;)     McCabe Pub is on Murphy Road, about 5 minutes from Vandy. Typical pub food. Decent burgers and club sandwiches so yeah, it's a good lunch spot. Fair prices. It's a neighborhood restaurant popular with the locals.
  23. Here are some top picks in the Nashville dining scene. I've tried to group them more by price than by cuisine. I've avoided naming any regional or national chain restaurants. These are all local Nashville places.   $$$$ Reservations highly suggested for any of these Etch Kayne Prime <<best steakhouse in the city Husk  <<New place. The foodies are going crazy over this one. Germantown Cafe (ask for a seat by the windows for one of the best skyline views around) Capitol Grille at the Hermitage Hotel   $$$ Merchant's (downstairs) Tin Angel F. Scott's Mad Platter Midtown Cafe   $$ Jackson's The Pharmacy biergarten M.L. Rose (2 locations now) Batter'd & Fried Cafe Coco Coco's Italian Market Noshville Deli Mafiaoza's Pizza Broadway Brewhouse (5 locations around town) The Cottage Cafe (in Bellevue...If your wife's a girly-girl, this is a nice Saturday lunch spot to take her to.) Swanky's Taco Shop (sort of becoming a chain, but still small enough for my list) Puckett's (both downtown and in Franklin) 55 South (Franklin) Shalimar Indian Monell's <<Southern food, family style servings   $ Pizza Perfect Baja Burrito San Antonio Taco Company Varallo's Chili Parlor Arnold's I Dream of Weenie Merridee's (Franklin) Cuova Calypso Cafe  <<tasty Caribbean food     BBQ gets its own category 'cause it's awesome. There's no shortage of places to try around here. Edley's is popular, but I'm personally not crazy about it. 2 locations now. Slow & Low has some killer brisket. Good beans, but the greens are soupy. Judge Bean's in Brentwood is good. Stick to the beef brisket. Texans can't make good pork BBQ to save their lives. ;) Pegleg Porker is the newest place and is getting some great press. I haven't tried them yet. They're in The Gulch, so may be a great choice before a show at Station Inn. Jack's is good if you're downtown. Otherwise, there's better. Tex's off Murfreesboro Rd. has good brisket, smoked turkey, and sausage. Pork is better than at Judge Beans', but there's better elsewhere. He has good sides. Only open for lunch M-F. Bar-B-Cutie is decent. Certainly not the best but it does the trick if you're jonesin' for some que and it's close by. They have some of the cheapest prices around. Hog Heaven behind the McDonald's at Centennial Park. Grab your 'que and find a shade tree in the park (no handguns in Metro parks though).   Last category is hot chicken. It's one of Nashville's culinary landmarks. Prince's is kind of the standard, but it's in a really crappy part of town. Hattie B's Pepperfire 400 Degrees     Local Taco was mentioned above. The last time I stopped in there a few weeks ago, their health score was atrocious. For that reason, I can't recommend them right now.   You'll hear good things about Sunset Grill and Cabana. Both are Randy Rayburn's places and he's a big anti 2A guy. FYI. I've probably listed a few in here that are also owned by anti's, but not to my knowledge.     ETA: Calypso Cafe and Monell's
  24. Dumb luck there tonight. Got there right as the guy was restocking. He said it would be gone in the next 30 minutes. 3 boxes of Federal 9mm for me. He was restocking 9, 40, and some Tula 223. They had enough .45 and .22 if anyone needs it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
