  1. What do you have when you have a bunch of lawyers buried up to their necks in cement?                                         Not enough cement.         ba-boom-tish!
  2. I'll bet a nickel that the heavy equipment ISIS siezed in Mosul from the Iraqi Army will be on the fast track west to Syria. Methinks the rebels in Syria just got put on an equal playing field with Assad's troops. No matter how Syria or Iraq turn out after this, it won't be good for the U.S.A.
  3. Is that Oh Shoot, back row, second from the left?
  4. I'd guess there's some antitrust law involved. That would bring in the feds. There are several about price discrimination, collusion between supplier and seller, etc. which lessen competition.
  5. Carfax gets data from repair shops, insurance claims, maintenance shops (quick lube, etc.), dealers, auctions, and police reports, amongst other sources.
  6. My favorite urinal wall art has always been "Why are you looking up here? The joke's in your hand."
  7. That reminds me of the cardboard box listing in the TGO classifieds a few years ago.
  8. My mom used to cross stitch a lot. She made one to hang in the bathroom:   My aim is to keep this bathroom clean. Your aim would help.     That hung right next an acquired "Caution: Natural Gas Pipeline" sign.
  9. Shipping to my Nashville zipcode brings the total for 1,000 rounds up to 22.2 cents/rd. Delivered, that's not bad.
  10. I'm sure there's some other sucker out there who doesn't know what he has who will sell you his un-bubbad SKS for $100*. If you find him, buy it.           *Yeah....I did that....
  11. I suspect that if one of those forms ever shows up at the TN DoR, the clerk won't know what to do with it.
  12. It's the TN dept of Revenue, not the IRS, but yeah, what Smith said.   Here's the form for anyone who wants to do this. http://www.tn.gov/revenue/forms/sales/r0000501.pdf
  13. I'm surprised this is still here. If I hadn't just spent all my money on a Ctrl and an Alt, I'd be all over this. Good guy to do business with. Delete with confidence.
  14.   This. We can argue 'til the cows come home about open this, rifle that, safe handling, he's a douche, no he's exercising his rights, whatever. In the end, politicians make the laws and they do what the voters and businesses in their districts tell them to do. Stuff like what these guys are doing serves no meaningful purpose to advance our cause in the law books. It can do one thing and one thing only, stir the pot enough to make those voters and businesses complain to their representatives to pass laws restricting it.   Doing something legal but unwanted around people who can influence the law is a good way to get that behavior made illegal.
  15. Just be sure to duct-tape your loosley zip-tied rifle-shaped kydex case to your bike.  :stir:
  16.   I don't think that's true. Is something no longer in a convertible car if the top is down? Or no longer in a Jeep if the top and doors are off?   I think something can be "in" a car because a car has exterior dimensions. anything within those dimensions is "in the car". A motorcycle has exterior dimensions too, but outside of small compartments like trunk/saddle bags, I don't think anything can actually be "in" a motorcycle.   That said, I think it would take a special kind of stupid for a DA to try to argue the nuance of "in" vs. "on" to a jury. I'm not saying there's not a DA out there with that special kind of stupid going on, just that I doubt it would be a common thing.
  17.   Nashville gets to have 2 sets of rules. One for the "urban services" district and one for the "general services" district. It's a holdover from the early days of becoming a municipal government. No shooting of any kind in the urban services district, but just no night shooting in the general services district.
  18. In the city of Chattanooga, page 3 has their shooting regulations. Short version, be safe and as long as the noise doesn't bother the neighbors, shoot away.  http://www.chattanooga.gov/city-council-files/CityCode/25%20-%20Offenses%20and%20Miscellaneous%20Provisions.pdf     I didn't see Hamilton Co.'s ordinances anywhere online.
  19.   It does hurt. Stupid stuff like this prompts businesses to post which has a direct impact on us. It also reinforces stereotypes in the minds of the non-gun-enthusiast voters, pushes voters in the indifferent-middle towards the antis, and creates an atmosphere for knee-jerk legislation for those voters to support.
  20. I didn't post the video to say this is a BAD THINGtm. I just wanted to inform anyone wanting to donate to the kickstarter campaign what this is and what this isn't. The full kickstarter campaign text makes it pretty clear that there isn't going to be a TV show. LeVar is going to making more app and web deliverable content. The kickstarter text is pretty clear to me that it's to be able to make that content and to make it free to needy schools.   Seeing this:     makes it even better. This is my first participation in kickstarter. Even after seeing the video that I linked, I still think that this is a GOOD THINGtm and worth supporting.
  21. Then there's this:   http://youtu.be/llDlxHVbA_g
  22.   At least one did. Admiral Yamamoto told the Prime Minister:   The battle of Midway ended 6 months to the day from Pearl Harbor. It was the beginning of the end for Japan.
