  1. You'll pay the TN taxes when you register the vehicle at your county clerk's office. There will be no GA taxes.
  2. Nah, just ask grandma to knock on the basement door.
  3. Live music? Broadway from 2nd to 5th Ave. No cover charges. Just tip the bands. A couple of bucks if you only hang around for a while. $5-10 if you stay for an hour or more. There's a dueling piano bar in Printers Alley. That can be fun.   For venues with a cover sharge, check out Station Inn in The Gulch for bluegrass, 3rd and Lindsley for more rock and less country, or Listening Room Cafe for a singer/songwriter vibe. I've never heard of the soundroom. For a party crowd, look at Tin Roof near Vandy.
  4.   Meh....just a T-shirt shop with a bunch of other cool stuff to look at that's not for sale.   +1 to Wilson Co. Fair. Look for Bradley's Creamery for some amazing ice cream churned on site. It won't be on the Midway. He's usually closer to the Fiddlers Grove area.   Off the top of my head for places to see/things to do in Nashville: Backstage tour of The Ryman The Country Music Hall of Fame with Studio B and Hatch Show Print Hear live music at the honky tonks TN State Museum and TN Military museum (both free) The Frist Center (art museum) Centennial Park and The Parthenon Corsair distillery The new Johnny Cash Museum is getting some good reviews over on TripAdvisor, but I haven't been Take your wife shopping. There are independent funky boutiques in 12 South & Five Points. High-end stores are in Green Hills. The Gulch is a mix of both.   If you want to try the hot chicken then Prince's is the original, but it's a dive in a lousy part of town. Hattie B's, 400 Degrees, and Pepperfire are all good and have nicer places in better locations. Whichever heat level you think you want, go down 1 or 2 notches. If you're the kind of guy that eats ghost peppers like jelly beans, then go to Prince's and ask them to make it hot...real hot, not the tourist hot. They can serve up stuff that will clean RhinoLiner out of your truck bed. I'm not ashamed to admit that Prince's regular is about all I can handle.
  5. TDOT tweets confirm what the OP said. Southbound will be closed all weekend with crews working around the clock to remove old and new span over the southbound lanes. Est. 3 months to rebuild.   The condition of the span over the northbound lanes is unknown at this point. TDOT engineers are still examining it, but northbound lanes are currently open.
  6.     FIFY!
  7. Nashville Safe House
  8. Ramen burger
  9. I like Ramen.
  10.   I think you're confusing this with that other thread.
  11. Yep. A real popcorn movie for the summer. It was the most entertaining film I have seen in years.   Stay until after the credits.  :)
  12. Offically, they stay out of it and follow all state laws. They also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.   In other words, if the manager gets complaints from other customers, don't be surprised if asked to cover it or leave.
  13. Submarine is this year's Megalodon. It works for them because it drives up ratings. Personally, I think Sharknado was a better documentary.
  14. Did anyone else notice that in additioon to having a gun for a hand, the book dad's name is Dick Strong?   This can't be a real thing....
  15.   That's correct.
  16. Dang, Mike.....That's awesome!   Grandma better take her hearing aid out. Ain't nobody got time for that!
  17. Yeah, Mike. I was thinking the same thing.   A better way to phrase that would be "pancakes are deffective waffles without syrup traps."
  18.   She doesn't have to work at Waffle House to make this happen. :dirty:
  19.   Not even close. I know I've seen threads reaching page counts up into the 20's if not the 30's. I'm pretty sure the Funny Pics thread (which seems to have been purged) went a lot longer. I know the gay wedding cake one was way up there too. This one's only on 18 and, short of the OP replying back with some crazy status update, this one's close to dying.    I wonder if the cardboard box that was up for sale in the classifieds went on for this many pages. I know it lasted for a while.   Can any of the mods, or David, tell us what the longest thread was/is? I'd like to know just out of pure curiosity.
  20. Because AMC is seen through a subscription (cable or satellite). The MyTV networks are over-the-air-broadcasts like NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox. The FCC has different rules for the 2 classes of networks.       I think we need a remake of Night Of The Lepus.
  21. Ugh. I hate that stupid seam sealer in a tube. I use seam tape. It's cleaner, makes a neater finish, and works great. The better quality tents will have this done at the factory. According to some Amazon reviews, some of the factory-sealed seams still leak because they'll tape the joints, then stitch them. Oops.   Deffinitely go up one size, at least. I got a 6-person for me and Mrs. 'lizard. That's overkill, but it was on sale and will give us plenty of room for her to have an air mattress and a steamer trunk.   If you're going in warm weather, get one with good ventilation. Some today are 80-90% mesh on the sides and top. Less privacy, but great airflow. Add the rainfly for privacy, but that can kill the airflow. I have a Kelty Salida 2 that has a snug rainfly. It works great to keep the rain out, but can create condensation due to restricted airflow.
