  1. I'm torn as well. I agree with the others here who think the cops acted in a reasonable manner and the the real failure is on the DA and the first judge. That makes it a wrongful arrest, but one that could have been quickly rectified at that first stop along the way to where we are now.   I also agree that he was straight up looking for this kind of confrontation.   If I controlled the civil trial jury, I'd probably find in his favor and award him $1.
  2. I'm very interested in hearing various supressors. I'm a member at the Gallatin Gun Club up at the TVA steam plant. There's no particlular limit to the # of guests I can have, but if it's more than say 3 or 4 I'd want to run it past Ron Jackson first. It's plenty big enough to handle this and goes to 300 yards. As long as everyone agrees to abide by the range rules, I'd be willing to participate.
  3.   Get the facts. http://www.lectlaw.com/files/cur78.htm   I'd have given her the money too, and I'd bet most people would too after they get the facts.
  4. The Tennesseean has a Libertarian-Detector at  the front door. He'd never get back in to his office if you turn him.
  5. Civil suit filing in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
  6. I didn't know it was still on the air...
  7. I learn something new each day. I always thought the lower was once-an-NFA-always-an-NFA. I knew it could have a rifle upper installed and it wouldn't be considered an SBR in that config, but I assumed all other NFA regulations followed it, including sale and interstate transport.
  8. Yep, the mountains of surplus have just about gone away, I did manage to pick up a pair of Mosin carbines from J&G last winter for a pretty good price and they were in pretty good shape. No museum pieces, but not run over by a T-34 either. Aim Surplus usually has some OK prices on various C&R items. It seems like they usually have various Mosins around including the revolvers, plus Tokarev pistols. They had a bunch of Swiss rifles too, but I haven't seen them up there for a while.
  9. No. The lower is the regulated part. If it's NFA, it's no bueno to cross state lines without filing the paperwork.
  10. What DaveTN said. Still, it's pretty awesome to meet the UPS man and have him hand you a box if firearms.    Plus you get dealer pricing at some websites. Brownell's does that for us. I know there are others, but that's the only one I've used.
  11.   Try a different tour guide and you'll hear that the locals did it because Yankee tourists kept getting their heads stuck in them.  :)
  12.   Would it be a bannable offense to repost Kentucky Conan at this point?
  13.   I didn't. I assumed the 1st two were I-40 and the Old Man. Rail lines and I-55, which is the most direct road link between the great lakes and the gulf, make 4.       I still don't know anyone would notice, though. I suppose someone might think that the "after" was a city-wide beautification project.
  14. 4 if you count I-55 and rail.
  15. To the OP (who already knows what/why I carry), mine's a Kahr PM9 with an extra mag for 14 shots. I chose it because it's easy to carry. I have carried a G26 and a G19, but neither will be my normal EDC. In the end, being comfortable and concealable were my top priorities for EDC. Home defense is a different matter.
  16.   How would you know if they did?
  17.     Your M92 is a pistol . . .     :D
  18.   It didn't seem to hurt LBJ or Jimmy Carter.
  19. "Man, I always feel like some white dude's lookin' over my shoulder"
  20. Or post it up here and let's have a Caption Contest!
  21. You must have some small furniture.                   waits to see how long it takes Will to notice that 16" <> 16'
  22. Dick's=CheaperThanDirt=DeadToMe.
  23.   Yep, that's the one.
  24. As for the 2 questions PackinMama listed, no, you do not have to ask those to be legal. They're a good idea, but not required.   All that's required for selling is that you're both residents of the same state and you don't have reason to believe the buyer is a felon or otherwise prohibted from owning/posessing a firearm. You don't have to actually ask about either point, but it's a good idea. You could also reasonably determine residency through other means (the buyer's phone# is a TN area code, they have TN plates, they're active on a particular TN gun owners' forum and have posted about TN specific stuff, etc.)   That's why lots of sellers here require to see at least a Tennessee DL (proof of residency)  or an HCP (proof of not being a felon). It's a good way to make a reasonable judgement that the buyer is qualified to buy. The BoS is an extra step that some buyers/sellers want to do, some won't do, and some require. It's all personal choice on that one.
