  1.   They lost, remember? Just imagine how it would have turned out if JMB had been a German and he gifted them with the .45 of the gods!             [/sarcasm]
  2.   FIFY
  3.   It's what K191145 was talking about in post #13 and what jtmaze said.   Aux is when the heat pump runs and the heat strips/coils kick on to supplement it because it's too cold outside for the heat pump to draw any/enough heat from the outside air. Emergency is for the heat strips/coils by themselves. The heat pump compressor itself will not be running. The fan blower will be running in either mode to move the air.   Aux will kick on if it needs supplemental heat. Emergency will kick on to keep you from freezing to death until the repairman arrives if the heat pump craps out or freezes over. Both use the electricity-hungry heat strips/coils.
  4. You may get yours faster. I ordered soon after the deal went up, so I was in the pool of orders when they got slammed.
  5. What MacGyver said. Picture the coil burners on an older stove top. Your heat pump has something like those inside it to make heat when the outside air doesn't have enough. It's not hard to see how that will run your electric bill up higher than Lindsey Lohan on Spring Break in Jamaica.
  6. Order placed morning of 11/7. Delivered today. 1 day short of 2 weeks. That's OK. It was a sweet deal. I saw the same stuff at SGAmmo this week advertised as a "special" for about $15 more and no ammo can.
  7. I know hunting migratory game birds requires the shotgun to only be able to hold 3 shells or less. Is there any such capacity limit for centerfire for deer? I didn't find one in the TWRA hunting guide.
  8. I'll let you all know when it arrives.
  9.   That's the integrated slant muzzle brake.
  10. I was wondering the same thing. It sure does have more than a passing resemblance to the wallet holsters. I suppose since it's all integrated then it's OK?         On the up side, it doesn't have GRIPZONE embossed on it.
  11.   Yeah, I know parts are regentrified and "nice", but I can't help but think that the projects are just a couple of blocks away whenever I'm there, especially along and south of Shelby St.
  12. Got a notice last night with my FedEx tracking number. As of now, FedEx still shows it as "label created". <snip> Given the great price and since I'm not in a hurry, I'm not going to complain.   I'd buy from them again if the price is right, but not if it's something that I need in a hurry.
  13. I know I need proof of having taken the Hunter Ed class with me. Do I need to always have the card from the class on me when hunting, or does the hunting license suffice since it has "Hunter Safety Verified by TWRA" printed on it?       Update: I called the Region 2 office to find out. Operator was unsure but thought I needed to have the card. Waiting on a call-back from someone who will know for sure. I'll post here with the results.
  14. One key difference in overall "safety" between the two cities is that Nashville's high-crime areas are more localized in certain neighborhoods while Memphis' high crime areas are more generalized. It reminds me of some east coast cities like Baltimore where you can go from uber-rich to gutter-trash-poor in about a block. That means that in Nashville, I feel "safe" in most areas I go. I recognize bad things still happen in Brentwood, Green Hills, West End, etc. but they're not common. Much of Memphis feels like East Nashville to me. Even when it's good, it's close to bad and my spidey senses are up.
  15. No, a 1911 will kill 1,911 people just by being in the same room. THAT'S the power of the .45 ACP, which we all know stands for Armored Cop Penetrator
  16.   10 days down. Still shows Status:Order received.
  17. With Target, Wal-Mart, Lowes, Dick's, and Costco at Nashville West, I'm not sure which anchor store would be interested in Bellevue. There's already a Publix next door. I'd like to see an Academy on the west side, but I don't see why they'd take a gamble on going into a new development at a location with a history of not being able to support a shopping destination when the high-traffic Nashville West is just 2 exits away.
  18. I laughed. don't know that I laughed enough to be worth the price of admission, but it has its funny moments.   I'm looking forward to The Interview with Seth Rogen and James Franco.
  19. They did. I suspect Nerf may own a substantial amount of stock in Springfield, or vice-versa.

  21. http://www.gallatingun.com/matches.asp Robert's contact info is at the top of that page.
  22. Go to the Bellevue Sears. It's a ghost town most days, so BF looks like a regular day at a normal Sears.
  23. Breaking News! Springfiled XD Mod3 spy photos released!
  24.   To each his own. I think it's uglier than an ugly thing that is unattractive. There's almost as much meat in that slide as on a Hi-point. I suppose that's an XD hallmark though, and the main reason I don't like them. All that extra metal makes them top heavy to me and just plain heavier to carry than what they're supposed to be competing against. Namely Glock and Smith's M&P. I had an XD subcompact which I shot as well as any other pistol (and better than some), but it was just too heavy when compared to a G26. Add in the fact that the grip length on this Mod2 "subcompact" is almost the same as a G19, and I think I'll pass.   I'm glad they decided to print "GRIP ZONE" prominently on there. Otherwise I'd have had no idea what to do with that part of the gun.
  25.   Better start camping now. :)
