My "now what?" was leave it out there for other things to eat. I have no desire to get into skinning/tanning things right now, so it had nor purpose for me. My cousin didn't mind. He does the same thing with them when he can kill em. Just leave em where they fall. Is there something else that I could have/should have done with it? I know I could have taken off the tail as a trophy, but that's something I really don't want hanging around my house for no reason.

I suggest that you use 16.5" laces, just to err on the side of caution.

Yep. You can find out the current schedules/regs on page 58 of the TWRA hunting guide. http://www.tn.gov/twra/pdfs/huntguide.pdf

You may know this, but just to be clear, Unit 1 (green striped on the map) allows muzzleloader a few days in November. The rest of the season is archery only. Unit 2 (green on the map including the islands) uses the regular season dates, but is shotgun/archery/muzzloader only. Centerfire is never allowed at Priest Lake WMA.

I think wcd just invented a new word: snoob noun - derogatory 1. a person who is new to the shooting sports yet insists on the need for high-end professional firearms and gear. 2. a person who believes himself or herself an expert or connoisseur of firearms despite limited experience. Origin 2014 First used on web forum Tennessee Gun Owners by member wcd. A combination of "snob" and "n00b". Examples for snoob After shooting skeet for the first time with his boss, Jerry sold his kidney in Mexico and bought a Krieghoff K80 Competition. What a snoob. That snoob shot his cousin's Ed Brown 1911. Now he thinks he's too good for my blinged out Taurus 1911 with the gold trigger. A snoob says: "You can't use an AR with an HBAR to clear rooms. I went to a class in Vegas and that's what the SEALRangerGreenBeretDelta instructor told me."

I drove by a few weeks ago and there wasn't any scent of bovine excrement emanating from the place, so that's an improvement.

We had decided to call it a day if we didn't see anything within the next 45 minutes or so when Wile E. showed up. We figured at that point that we'd better take what we could get. Good thing to. My cousin's (hunting his land) little girl said a coyote was menacing her (she said "he was after me") a couple of days earlier. I hope it was this one.

Made it out today for my first hunt. Saw a doe, but let her pass. She was on the move and didn't stay still long enough for a good shot. A little small too, so no worries. My hunting buddy asked me a little later if there are any coyotes around there. I said that I suppose there are. About 5 minutes later.......here one comes. I didn't get a deer on my first hunt, but I got this varmint.

"D'oh, that's a big gun. Is that a 45 cal?"

That's why I carry a blunderbuss. -
They didn't drop the price on their regular stock. They had a different stock# for their special deal one. You had to use the link from their BF page to get to it.

Page finally loaded. Out of stock on the Canik. It's Bush's fault.

$49 shotguns and $99 CZ clones....the ultimate self-imposed DoS attack.

F5 F5 F5... I think we broke their website....

Prepper Gun Shop BF has started. Best deal I've seen on a mini draco. $479.99 shipped. Order before 10am and they'll put in 5 extra mags (cheap knock-off polymer ones, I'm sure). Their ad said that, but it's not on their site any longer. I called and they confirmed. 6a-10a central will get 5 free mags in addition to the 1 steel mag it normally comes with. There is now 1 less in their inventory than when they started. :) https://www.preppergunshop.com/index.php/cent-mini-draco-pistol-7-62x39-1-30rd-mag.html ETA: 17 minutes until the feverish clicking of F5 on Bud's......Good luck to us all!

Heat pump and cold weather will change things. As you're seeing, letting the temp drop during that day will save you money during that time, but when it has to raise it back up to your comfortable setting, it kicks on the expensive AUX heat. 2-edged sword with those things.

These ARE the droids you're looking for. Stormtrooper FTW.

I gave up on the Nest's motion sensor learning when we're home and when we're not. I got the Skylark app to supplement it. It uses geo-fencing to determine when you are home and away. then it tells the Nest to go to Home or Away mode. We don't adjust the temp while we're home (like X during the evening, Y overnight, then back to X in the morning) so the only thing I want the Nest to know is home and away.

Nickel boron BCG cheeeeeeep
monkeylizard replied to Dustbuster's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
The standard AIM BCG has a cast gas key. Their v2 models have a milled gas key. In case that matters to anyone. -
From the comments above, it sounds like it's a good owner with lousy employees and sometimes good prices. With shops like GnL around here with good owners AND good employees AND good prices, I won't be bothered with anything less.
-
Yeah. That was cool. I watch TTD to see the behind the scenes and on-set stuff and skip the rest.

Ashland City is "Excited" About Christmas
monkeylizard replied to I am Groot!'s topic in General Chat
That's funny, right there. I'm half-tempted to drive up there to see it for myself. -
Darryl ripping off the zombie head by the eye sockets was the best SFX they've had all season. That was great!

It sounds to me like Shooters inherited all of their charm from Gun City. I was in the West shop once. In addition to high prices, I witnessed the following: A woman had brought in a shotgun and a revolver (I wasn't close enough to see any details) that she had inherited or something. They basically told her they were worthless and offered to take them off her hands at no charge. She was (thankfully) savvy enough to walk out the door with her items in hand, but clearly knew nothing about what she had. After she left the 2 clerks were laughing at her and calling her stupid, etc. I wish I had approached her in the parking lot (I'd never do that in someone's store) and asked what she had. I still kick myself for not finding out if I could have helped her out and possibly scored a nice find at the same time. I won't go back. Ever. I like the folks at Nashville Sporting Arms. Their prices aren't the greatest, but they're not condescending jerks and try to have a good selection of things in stock.

Yep, and you see where messing with his divine design got them. Straight to the hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Proof that the 9mm ain't ####. If they'd kept the mighty .45 against our own 1911 thunder hammers, the two mighty forces colliding would likely have caused an extinction event like the one that that killed off the dinosaurs. Geologists 100,000 years from now would be referring to the "JMB layer" in the sedimentary time line.
