  1. +1 to the pottery thing. Brushfire is in Green Hills. It's a good one.
  2. Oh Shoot posted that link in the ongoing discussion. Post #86. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/83504-new-twist-in-the-sig-brace-debate/?p=1233419
  3. My TGO-15 lower has been in the safe until last month when I finally put the LPK in it. I built it alongside a PSA lower and it was like a Ferrari next to a Trabant. I didn't realize just how nice the CMT lower was until then.   I need an AR-10 like my wife needs another purse, so I'm in when this gets put together.  :D
  4. It doesn't look much worse that some of the SKS rifles I've seen over at Classic.
  5. If Glock can't make a single-stack 9mm any better than they can make a "pocket" .380, I'll pass. That G42 is larger and heavier than the LCP or P3AT with no additional rounds. I invision the same thing from a Glock SS 9mm when compared to the Kahr or Shield.
  6.   I'm not ashamed to say that I needed a minute myself. The closing montage of actual footage was a powerful and appropriate tribute.   :usa:  :usa:  :usa: :usa:  :usa:  :usa:  :usa:  :usa:  :usa:  :usa:
  7. So it expressly states that -1313 applies to schools even though -1313 already applies to schools? That's some valuable legislation right there.
  8.   I thought so too. -1313 doesn't say anything about "notwithstanding -1309 (or -1311 parks etc.)" so it would apply everywhere, right? What exactly is the point of this addition to -1309?
  9. If anyone needs the URL:   http://www.nraam.org/   Click the big blue Pre-Register button on the right. Registration will get you access to the exhibit hall. There are other events as well which require tickets (and $). You can see those from the "Special Events" option in the black menu bar on the page I linked.
  10. I'm going. Just pre-registered.   I too would like to hear about any efforts they have in the TN state legislature to lift carry restrictions.
  11.   We're still talking about guns, right?     :D
  12. Isn't "Best place in Rutherford Co." kind of like like saying "Prettiest girl still in the bar at 3am?"
  13.   Yuppies who vote.   Maybe, just maybe these new shooters will start to think critically about firearms. Maybe, just maybe they'll start to question the anti-gun crap that so many are being force fed from birth. Maybe, just maybe, that will mean they'll think twice about pushing the Vote button for a gun grabber when they're the ones who would lose their hobby.   Anything that gets more people shooting is a win for the sport and for the politics. It provides an avenue to educate people about firearms whose only other source of information is Hollywood and Bloomberg. Being overt about the politics isn't always the best way. You need to get people to come around to it on their own, and you do that by making it accessible in an environment that's not confusing, intimidating, and foreign to anything they've ever done before.
  14.   That update sucks! He says there were half-naked women on stage whipping each other and he doesn't have the common decency to share the pics? What a tool.
  15.   He said there are 320m people and 300m guns, not 300m people who own guns.
  16.   First, he's neither Irish nor British. He's a naturalized U.S. citizen who was Irish.   You're right about point number 2.
  17.   Interesting. I see my confusion on the names though. Metro calls that Harpeth River Park and calls red caboose park Bellevue Park. The tag on Google Maps has the Harpeth River Park as Bellevue Park.   Does anyone know how greenways work? Metro posts theirs, but is the property actually Metro's? The Bellevue greenway runs along the Harpeth River and more or less in the backyards of several homes. The big hayfield it loops around is owned by the Brandsteter estate, and presumably they own(ed) the land the walking path is on too. When the paths are built, is the land under it taken via eminent domain or does it remain the original owner's property and treated more like an easement?
  18.   Ah...aka Red Caboose Park. According to the Metro Planning Commission's property map, it's owned by Metro and has been since 1958* . Do you know otherwise? http://maps.nashville.gov/propertykiva/site/main.htm Parcel ID 14200004300       *Which is not technically possible since Metro didn't exist until 1963. I assume all holdings of Nashville and the absorbed townships simply became Metro property.
