  2.   You and 20 other homes in our 'hood. If I didn't know better, I'd think we live in Quantico.
  3. The G43 is to a Kahr PM/CM9 what the G42 is to an LCP. Pointless.
  4.   Private vs public doesn't matter. What matters is whether or not it's a school event. IANAL, but I suspect it would hinge on exactly what it says in Head Start's incorporation documents, or if it's regulated by the state DOE, or some other something that might declare it a "school".
  5. I can't believe we're on page 2 and nobody has suggested a gun belt. That should fix things right up.
  6.   This x 1 bazillion. That was back in the Clinton administration, which was a bastion of transparency compared to what we have today, not to mention the technological limitations of Reno's day which are not a factor today.
  7.   I wasn't replying to the OP, I was replying to your post which said       Your 2nd sentence is incomplete because they can also get it if the FFL goes out of business.
  8. Raised beds are nice. You can do much more compact gardening to get more out of a smaller area, and because the sun hits the sides, it warms up faster so you get an earlier start on the growing season. Mine are on the ground, not on stands and look like these: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Greenes-Fence-4-ft-x-8-ft-x-10-5-in-Dovetail-Cedar-Raised-Garden-Bed-RC6T21B/203477958?N=5yc1vZbx7c   I have five 4'x4' squares connected in a U shape. I do square foot planning and it works very well. I like http://www.gardeners.com/how-to/kitchen-garden-planner/kgp_home.html for planning. You can choose some pre-panned gardens or design your own.
  9.   Not entirely true. If an FFL closes up shop, they have to send all of their stored 4473s to the BATFE who dumps them in a big warehouse, so that's another way they can get their hands on them. In theory, they have agents who will sort through the paper files as needed. Personally, I'd be shocked if they aren't digitally recording them all, esp as MacGyver said "in this post-Snowden world".
  10.   It works just fine. If it were me, I'd try to find some food-grade barrels if yours aren't. I personally wouldn't want the plastic stuff leeching into my root systems. Build some stands out of 2x4 lumber and you're all set. Make the racks tall enough to put the surface of the dirt at a comfortable height. No need to bend over to weed and such if you don't have to. Be sure to drill some holes in the bottom (formerly the side) for drainage.
  11.   If it's brown right now, it's probably bermuda. If it's green right now, it's probably fescue (maybe rye grass).
  12. Happy Birthday     I used the large font so you can read it better.  :D   Seriously though, CBS Sunday Morning had a good piece this week on people doing great things later in life. Colonel Sanders was 65 when he started KFC. You're just getting started at 63.
  13. Good point. That would give a clean story line about how the wolves find ASZ. They find Nicholas on the roadway somewhere and he tells them about it, thinking that the tough guys in the Wolfpack will be able to take it over, completely underestimating the superior toughness of Rick & Co.
  14. NO!!!!!!!!! Don't tell people about Joey's House of Pizza! It's hard enough to get in there already.   I mean, uh....     Joey's? That place is nasty....nobody should ever go there.
  15. OK. That's much better. I'll go back and rewatch that scene. Other than Nicholas (The swift hammer of Glenn Justice coming soon), Aidan-I-shoot-grenades, and Pete, everyone else in the town seems to be on the up and up, just clueless.   The problem with any of them killing Pete is that he's the town doctor. He'll have to be the one to save Tara next week, making Rick/Carol realize his value to the town.   I predict that Nicholas, on the other hand, will be tried, judged, and summarily executed.
  16. Yeah, they talked about that in last week's episode at the party. Rick said they work good for walkers, but a human can run right up them. Mr. architect agreed and said that's the kind of input he needs, or something like that. I doubt we'll see them move them around. The supports will just be on the inside come some new episode and a character will make a comment about how glad they are to have that finally done.
  17. They're raiding the shopping mall construction site for materials. They're extending the wall to encircle a larger area in preparation for finding more people to live in Rickville.     As inept as the construction crew was at taking care of that small batch of Z's and as bad as the two with Glenn tripped out in the warehouse, I don't know how they've survived this long.   What threw me was that I thought the construction guy who advanced first said he was going to kill Abraham. something like "he's dead and I'm going to make sure he stays that way". Maybe he just meant he thought Abraham was dead and he was going to shoot his corpse in the head to prevent the big red zombie machine from coming after them. Sounded more sinister than that, but former crew boss never said anything about that when he resigned to Deena.
  18. I think a Mosin 1891/30 makes a good home defense rifle. You can hide in the closet in a back bedroom and skewer the invader when they come in the front door. Or pig-stick the guy in your neighbor's house from your kitchen window. :)   Seriously though, cheap to buy and cheap to shoot can be two different things. .223 and 7.62x39 ammo are about the cheapest centerfire cartridges around without getting into something obscure and/or hard to find. It's possible (when the ATF doesn't use the b-a-n word) to find steel-cased in those calibers for around 20 cents each if you can buy in bulk. .308 is going to be closer to 50 cents and 30-30 is north of 60 cents.   Personally, I think the SKS prices are crazy right now and have been for a while. You can get an AK fir just a few bucks more, but then again, you can get an AR for about the price of an AK these days. AR prices are scraping the bottom. If you can swing one, now's a good time to do it. I've seen the Smith&Wesson M&P Sport AR-15 as low as about $525 lately.
  19. The only one in the original Alexandria group with real contributing skills is the architect husband. Even that's unfocused and prone to design flaws from lack of "out there" experience. With Glenn, Rick, Carol and Darryl advising on security matters, his designs could become solid defenses.   I think Sam cozied up to Carol because she's not just a mother figure, but a strong mother figure. Something he doesn't have if his mom is being beat and won't stand up for herself or for him. If daddy's beating him, he may see Carol as someone who can protect him. Her little speach in the pantry may have had the opposite effect in some ways than she intended. Instead of staying away, he's drawing closer to her. I suspect he won't say anything about the guns, but because of loyalty, not fear. If Carol ever has proof he's beating Sam, Darryl won't have to gut him like a squirrel. Carol will slit his throat passing him on the sidewalk and never break stride....which would make a phenomenal closing scene for an episode.   +1 to seeing that the group is being put in position to take over everything. Bring on the RickCaroltatorship and let's go hunt some wolves!
  20. Try Arnold's for some Southern comfort and soul food. Only open for lunch.
  21.   meh. The Loveless is more famous for being famous than it is for great food these days. Plus they're posted. I live under 10 minutes from there and can count the number of times I've been in the past two years by making a fist. The "new" ownership hasn't been good for them, IMO. If you're going to take a drive/ride on the Natchez Trace, it's worth stopping for, but I don't think it's worth going all the way out there just for the food.   I hear great things about breakfast at The Southern downtown and Marche in East Nashville.
