John Schneider said in an interview that Jimmy helped him and the other young actors immensley by coaching them and sharing his deep knowledge of the TV acting business with them. He had a real passion for the craft and ran an acting school in Hollywood for 25 years, then he taught drama at various universities after semi-retiring from acting.

Haslam won't be there. "Schedule conflicts" are keeping him away in Knoxville and Chattanooga promoting his free tution program.

CC at NRA show in Nashville?
monkeylizard replied to Buff1968's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'm not too concerned about that. Most of the goofy stuff for us has to do with places that visitors aren't likely to come across. Basically all they need to know for a good visit is open vs. concealed makes no legal difference and signage has the force of law. We don't have the goofy laws about churches, or public venues with seating capacity above X, or if Y% of revenue is derived from alcohol, etc. -
It is. NRA 2015 is the app name. It lists all seminars which you can add to your "Agenda". There's a map of the exhibit hall with all vendors shown.

When does the Senate take this up again?
-
You must be a member to enter (or a househould member). It's free admission with membership. That gets you access to the exhibit hall, the airgun range, the NRA store, wall of guns, and most of the seminars. The seminars listed here are all free. http://www.nraam.org/special-events/seminars,-workshops-special-presentations.aspx The Friday night concert with Hank Jr. is free and open to the public and will be outside on Broadway. The music stage outside at 5th and Demonbreun is also free. The paid ticketed events are the dinners, prayer breakfasts, NRA-ILA seminar with the GOP presidential hopefuls, the Alan Jackson/Jeff Foxworthy show Saturday at Bridgestone, and certain other seminars like the one for attorneys. +1 to the app for planning out your seminars.

It's just a bad picture. The FDE looks much better than that. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_5_10/157407_PSA_FDE_Ruger_LCP_Review.html

Generally speaking, your leafy greens and roots vegetables will be fine. You could have probably started them a couple of weeks ago from seed. The more frost-sensitive plants tend to be the ones which grow fruits/veg on stems above ground like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, etc. I planted a fall crop of various lettuce and swiss chard in late August last year and it was all producing up until almost Christmas.

How many tickets did you buy to get lucky enough to win 2? :D

Yeah, but at the NRA show you'll want to see everything!

Looking at the forecast, you'd probably be OK to start now, but I wouldn't unless I had a way to protect them if another late frost comes in. Last year our last frost was around April 18th. I may put my seeds in this week, esp the frost hardy plants. I'm using raised beds and I have PVC arches over them so I can cover them if a late frost threatens. I'm doing the tomatoes in 3.5 gal food-grade buckets this year because they take up too much room in the raised beds, plus I can move them around to provide shade where needed. I can take them into the garage if frost threatens. If it's not raining cats and dogs this evening, I may get a few things in the ground. I think last night was the last cold night for the season.

I have a very lightweight small'ish backpack. It will start the day with some bottles of water and some snacks, and end the day full of swag. I'll collect tote bags along the way, I'm sure, but when I want my hands free, I can stuff it all in the backpack.

Bill Hall always said wait until April 15th. Then check the forecast on that day. If there's no frost in it, you're good to go.

There was a case in Memphis at a Kawasaki dealer where they had an incident (a shooting or armed robbery I think?) and responded by posting. A guy walked in shortly after that (while tensions would have been quite high) OC'ing past the obvious posting and a security guard, IIRC. I'm pretty sure he was charged. Perhaps one of our resident attorneys could share some specifics on that case? There has been no incident that I know of where a person has been charged for carrying past a non-statutorily compliant sign, but that's not to say it can't happen.

Call their 800 number and give them your info. They have probably already assigned you a Member ID number, just haven't mailed you the card. The ID# is what you'll need at the show to register. -
CC at NRA show in Nashville?

It's hit and miss downtown. -
Is there a secret handshake or something for a free sample? :D
-
Other than the manufacturer/vendor booths and hopefully collecting a sack full of promo loot, I'm looking forward to the NRA-ILA meeting (need a $10 ticket). I'm sure it will be GOP Presidential hopefuls telling us what we want to hear, but maybe it will help me know who I may support and who I definitely won't support.

No, NRA dues are not tax deductible.

Laser Quest on 2nd Ave. Awesome maze. Hands down the best laser tag game in the city. -
Nope. Unless the rain gets super heavy and washes the seeds away, you'll be fine. The wheat straw will help prevent that.

Get the app. It has a map and times of all events (both ticketed and the free seminars). You can build an agenda for yourself and locate vendors on the map. It's pretty well done. It's called NRA 2015 in the iTunes store. I suppose it's the same in the Google store for Android. -
I like that the new bond series isn't as (as OS said) comic-book like as the later movies. The earliest movies (esp. From Russia With Love) are much more like the current ones with actual plot twists, espionage, and changing alliances. I for one am glad Daniel Craig's Bond hasn't yet been seen fist fighting 200 guys with ray guns and helmets while simultaneously disarming a nuclear bomb on a conveyor belt on its way to a hyper-warp speed transport machine to send it to blow up Mt. Rushmore. Plus ill-tempered sea bass are trying to eat him. Craig makes for a good action star, and his style of playing his cards close makes for a good spy-thriller because the audience never really knows what the main character is thinking. Where he comes up short is the charm and personality. Connery got that part down in spades. Craig's Bond can get Pussy Galore because he'll jump through a plate glass window on the 32nd floor of a building, fight off 3 guards in an impromptu MMA cage match, and jump back out with her in his arms using a backpack glider, all without cracking a smile or grimacing in pain. Connery's Bond would knock on the door, claim to be from room service, knock out the 3 guards with sleeping darts from his watch, say "Well hello, Pussy" with a wry smile and off they'd go to her place.

Friday and Saturday for me. Sunday if necessary to see it all.
