There was a case in Memphis at a Kawasaki dealer where they had an incident (a shooting or armed robbery I think?) and responded by posting. A guy walked in shortly after that (while tensions would have been quite high) OC'ing past the obvious posting and a security guard, IIRC. I'm pretty sure he was charged. Perhaps one of our resident attorneys could share some specifics on that case?   There has been no incident that I know of where a person has been charged for carrying past a non-statutorily compliant sign, but that's not to say it can't happen.

Call their 800 number and give them your info. They have probably already assigned you a Member ID number, just haven't mailed you the card. The ID# is what you'll need at the show to register.

Other than the manufacturer/vendor booths and hopefully collecting a sack full of promo loot, I'm looking forward to the NRA-ILA meeting (need a $10 ticket). I'm sure it will be GOP Presidential hopefuls telling us what we want to hear, but maybe it will help me know who I may support and who I definitely won't support.

Get the app. It has a map and times of all events (both ticketed and the free seminars). You can build an agenda for yourself and locate vendors on the map. It's pretty well done.   It's called NRA 2015 in the iTunes store. I suppose it's the same in the Google store for Android.

I like that the new bond series isn't as (as OS said) comic-book like as the later movies. The earliest movies (esp. From Russia With Love) are much more like the current ones with actual plot twists, espionage, and changing alliances. I for one am glad Daniel Craig's Bond hasn't yet been seen fist fighting 200 guys with ray guns and helmets while simultaneously disarming a nuclear bomb on a conveyor belt on its way to a hyper-warp speed transport machine to send it to blow up Mt. Rushmore. Plus ill-tempered sea bass are trying to eat him.   Craig makes for a good action star, and his style of playing his cards close makes for a good spy-thriller because the audience never really knows what the main character is thinking. Where he comes up short is the charm and personality. Connery got that part down in spades. Craig's Bond can get Pussy Galore because he'll jump through a plate glass window on the 32nd floor of a building, fight off 3 guards in an impromptu MMA cage match, and jump back out with her in his arms using a backpack glider, all without cracking a smile or grimacing in pain. Connery's Bond would knock on the door, claim to be from room service, knock out the 3 guards with sleeping darts from his watch, say "Well hello, Pussy" with a wry smile and off they'd go to her place.

Friday and Saturday for me. Sunday if necessary to see it all.

  +1 to this.   This only applies to STATE parks. The signs were left up because to force the park service to change them would have required a fiscal note to be attached to the bill. That tends to be a poison pill for gun bills. To get the law changed to allow carry in state parks, the backers of the bill had to avoid a fiscal note. Basically the old signs stay up until they need to be replaced, then the new signs will omit the "no firearms" langauge. The existing signs have no force of law.

  State Parks are OK. In Nashville that's going to be the Bicentennial Mall and Radnor Lake. Metro-Nashville parks are all off limits, for now. Watch this space for an update. A bill has passed the house and senate to change that. Now they need to reconcile a variation in their bills (then probably override a veto). It would make carry in all state and local parks legal as long as a school event isn't occuring there. It could go into effect before the NRA convention. Federal land (TVA, Corps of Engineers, etc.) have their own rules.   We know for sure that the circle-slash "gunbuster" has the force of law to ban carry wherever it's posted, and any sign with some specific verbage that cites TCA-39-17-1359 also have the force of law. The law doesn't say if a non-conforming sign (one that just says "No guns allowed" for example) has the force of law or not, and there's no case law, so we truly don't know about those.   The only places off-limits without having to post are penal institutions, schools, and a room with an active judicial proceeding. Since this is a thread on visiting for the NRA convention, I suspect those are irrelevant, plus they sometimes have their own odd nuances regarding permit holders and/or what is and isn't a weapon.

  That's jumping the gun. Has to pass both house and senate in an identical format. The earliest the House can take it up is Monday the 6th.   I suspect Yarbro added that amendment as a poison pill, not realizing the conservatives would say "sounds good to us!". Or he could be smarter than I give him credit. If the bill as amended gets through the House, that will make it more likely to see our RINO governor pull out his veto stamp. If he does that it goes back to the legislature to override it. Given the vote tally this time around, a veto is not really anything more than the governor expressing his displeasure. The override should be a slam dunk, but you never know with a bunch of politicians.     X-post with Worriedman

  She lost her son and her husband in just a couple of days. I'd say that's more than just a fraction. From the family perspective, she has lost as much as they have, but in the big picture she hasn't had to simultaneously deal with starvation, walkers, living on the run with walkers all around, Woodbury, walkers, Terminus, more walkers, Atlanta hospital, more walkers, a 700 mile journey and more walkers, all the while trying to keep a group together who themselves are also losing loved ones,....and caring for a baby.

  It's the other way around. Tomatoes will take over and shade out the stuff within a foot or two of them, maybe more depending on the variety. I'm going to try something a little different this year. I'm going to put the tomoatoes in food-grade plastic buckets. Then I can move them around to provide shade on the edges of the raised beds as needed without sacrificing 6+ squares per plant.

Working on this show has to be a dream come true for the FX guys. Making that walker head explode and gush out from the eyes and mouth all over Rick had to be extremely satisfying.

Lennie James said on The Talking Dead that Morgan has lost his wife and his son. Rick Grimes is the only person he knows in the whole world. That's why he went looking for him. He has no place else to be and nobody else to go to.   He played it close the vest about what's in store for next season, but confirmed he's in at least one episode and hinted there may be a backstory episode showing how Morgan got from crazy town to where he is now.

  I'll hold off for the spin offs of the spin off like The Walking Dead: New Orleans or The Walking Dead: Miami
