  1. An ammosexual? Is that someone who makes love to his 1911?
  2.   I think you just solved the mystery of saggy pants. It's not a fashion statement, it's the C9's fault.
  3.   If that holster was included then it doubled the value, so yeah, good score
  4. Thanks for the great replies. JeffL and I are going to try to get together for this. If our schedules won't play well, I'll take one of you other guys up on it.
  5. Free float. It's a Samson Evolution using a standard barrel nut. Do you have the special vise block needed for the TGO uppers? The clamshell ones apparently don't work, but the ones with the pins do.
  6. I agree in this case. I think it would be justified here, but for different legal reasons than it was in Utah. Some other fact could surface such as the perp being 20 yards away at the time he was shot and that would change things here, but would make no difference in Utah.
  7.   2,000 miles per year? You put little old ladies in Pasadena to shame.
  8.   No, but it could play into whether or not a "reasonable person" would consider the attacker to be a threat to their life or of serious bodily harm as defined in TCA. No weapon, in my mind, makes that a little harder to establish. Not impossible, just more difficult.
  9. If I read the story correctly, the shooter was not being carjacked. He saw someone else being carjacked and intervened. I would agree that a reasonable person would think that the vicitm's life is in danger.   However, the unarmed carjacker turned from the car and moved towards the shooter. That's where I'd need more information to give my own opinion about if this would be a legal shoot or not in TN. Did the shooter know or should have known the perp was unarmed? What distances are we talking about here? Was there a significant size disparity between the shooter and the perp? Stuff like that and others would all come in to play here in TN.   The article does say the perp was lunging in an effort to grab the gun. At that point, yeah, a reasonable person would have been in fear of his life and lethal force would be good to go, in my not-a-judge-or-jury opinion,
  10. Bellevue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. OS beat you to it, but posted in the other of your two choices. :) http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/87713-woman-stabbed-to-death-on-knoxville-greenway/
  12. You're correct. Our law doesn't have the "forcible felony" part. If a reasonable person would be in fear of their life or serious bodily harm (or the same for another person) then lethal force can lawfully be used in TN. It can't lawfully be used to protect property.
  13. I'm finally getting around to building my CMT TGO upper. It's the first upper I'll ever build and would like some help as the last thing I want to do is screw up this one since I can't just go get another one. Anyone in the middle TN area willing to show this n00b how it's done? I have all of the parts and an AR-15 wrench (well, D3vo has one and I'll borrow it) but I don't have a vise block.
  14. I drove by, but I couldn't get to your garage. You need to move that olive-drab green 4-wheeled loader out of your driveway.
  15.   Nope. You just need to find a way to market your stuff to them without moving up there. Those Brooklyn hipsters pay top dollar for "goods with a soul". Items coming out of your place would sell like ice cream in July up there if you find a way to market to them. Your farm is the real deal based on the pics you've posted on here. Big draft horses, an old fashioned forge, and work boots that have seen more mud than pavement paint a picture of something they're desperate to show their fellow hipsters they've "discovered" and they're glad to pay top dollar for it.
  16. On a completely unrelated note......does anyone want to buy an M9 or an M16-A4? No bill of sale needed. In fact, no paper work at all on these, I just need them to disappear. I have them in the back of my new Hummer if anyone wants to see them today. Also, the Hummer is for sale.
  17. At $20, if you don't like it, you're not out much. IIRC, I got mine during a sale on REI.com for $25 and it included 3 bags.   Your Katadyn Pocket is a Cadillac for sure. That metal construction will last a lifetime. You'll eventually replace the filter media if you use it a lot, but the body and pump should outlast you.
  18.   FIFY!   I'm starting to understand how Mets fans feel.
  19.   I think hipower was noting the combination of a weak draft class and a high picking order for the Titans. Not every team is dealing with that.   Still, I think it hurts teams in the #6 through mid 20s more. This class has maybe 5 good picks to get excited over, and that's a big maybe. After that, there's not a lot to get excited over. For teams picking in the high 20s and later, every year is pretty well picked over by then for real star players other than those rare very deep years and the dumb-luck late round sleepers that turn out to have been a genius pick.
  20. I have a Steripen and a Sawyer mini. The Sawyer mini weighs 2 ounces and is rated to .1 microns and 100K gallons. the squeeze bags will eventually wear out before the filter does, but for $20 for a filter and $8 for a 3 pack of bags, I think it's a great way to go. Never used the Steripen as US water almost never has the viruses in it. Had a coupon and got a good price, so I got one. UV in sunlight isn't powerful enough to kill the viruses, thus the stuff like Steripens. UV doesn't actually kill them, it just makes them unable to reproduce. It's like anti-Viagra for them.
  21. The new law can be found here: http://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/109/Bill/SB1058.pdf   It goes into effect 7/1/2015
  22. Anyone want a Scorpion mag? $199 each +shipping. I should have some in about 2 weeks according to the order I placed today.                           kidding! :hiding:
