Georgia Carry Org Success To Learn From
monkeylizard replied to 300winmag's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
AIUI, TFA is as close to that as we get. I know they're active with the legislature. Just a guess, but GCA may be better funded than TFA. Lawsuits get expensive. -

I have a Kahr PM9 and a Glock G43. For most practical purposes, they're the same height and width with their flush magazines, but the Glock has a longer barrel. That extra length means there's no way I would consider it for pocket carry. The PM9 is about as big as I can see trying to pocket carry. The Kahr's trigger is smoother than the Glock's, but it has a lot more take up with a longer reset and not much feedback on when you're going from taking up the slack to BANG. Both have been flawless, handling any FMJ or JHP I've thrown at them. The grip stipling on the Glock is more aggressive. That's nice for shooting, but less so for IWB in a holster w/o a sweat shield. I trust my life with both. If I had neither and was buying one of those two, I'd get the G43. The extra barrel length doesn't bother me with IWB and I like the trigger better. It's almost identical to my G26 and G19, so all my carry guns have the same trigger feel. Don't be surprised if her opinion on external safeties evolves over time as she carries. My first carry gun was an XD-40 subcompact. I bought it because of the grip safety. That made me more confident in carrying. The more I carried, the less I felt the need for that and the more I realized just how much freakin heavier that gun is than a comparable Glock. You may start with a Shield to get that safety switch, then later find that she wants a G43, or that LCR, perhaps in .38 for the weight reduction.

On second thought..... WOLVERINES!!!!!! The original, of course. Though I guess it's more foreign invasion than apocalypse. The kids went through similar survival stuff though. Maybe not terribly realistic, but a good movie that makes me want to shout " 'Merica!"

It's a hard choice between Night of the Comet and This Is The End. :D Seriously though, I liked the bleakness of The Road, but there weren't enough people to keep it terribly interesting. Book of Eli was good. I actually kind of like The Postman. Don't hate me for admitting that.

Yep. Had to be made up. Period.

1) yes, Dawn and hot water will work. Windex is also a good one. The ammonia neutralizes the salts. Just don't let the Windex sit a long time as it can cause damage if left in there. 2) try a funnel. -
They could call it The Cooter Shooter.

I'm not really surprised. Everything's bigger in Texas.

I use CCI minimags with zero issues. It will take the Federal bulk stuff, but I'll get a FTF on average once per mag. Usually it's similar to the OP. Racks the slide fare enough to set the hammer, but not far enough to grab the next round in the mag. I never did anything to it but clean it and lube it. It's about 5 years old and came the the "B" magazine.

Chip Cain can still be your guy. Caster said in post#4 that he never had to go to Chip's office. Just emails and get the documents notarized locally.

This. We'll likely never see the follow-up as that's not newsworthy.

What jtmaze said. It passed the Senate but got killed in the House. It would be kind of hard for a new law to be passed right now seeing as how the legislature is not in session.

Quick question on "printing"
monkeylizard replied to OH UNCLE PAUL's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It doesn't appear that Virginia honors NY permits. http://handgunlaw.us/states/virginia.pdf If you meant above that you have permits from Utah and Pennsylvania, then you're good to go in Virginia for concealed carry Virginia allows open carry without a permit, so printing shouldn't be an issue. Just be sure to have a valid permit from a state they honor or switch to open carry. http://www.opencarry.org/?page_id=310 -
