  1. Because I bought what's supposed to be an un-issued (or pretty dang close to it) one and paid the price accordingly. If I wanted one that looks like it got drug behind a UPS truck or a tank, I'd have bought one of the Norincos coming in now for a lot less. It may not be just the finish on the muzzle device. If it got whacked around bad enough to tear that up, who know how off the barrel may be?
  2. Mine arrived yesterday, but I wasn't home (signature required) so I had them hold it at the UPS depot up on Whites Creek Pike. Stopped by today to get it..... Refused to accept. Return to sender. I'll have to call Classic on Monday. That sucks.
  3. Ah, their shipping prices were always high anyway. No big loss to me. Brownell's seems to take all my parts money anyway.
  4. If you carry IWB, the single-stack is MUCH more comfortable. If you carry IWB and tuck your shirt, they're also more concealable than their double-stack counterpart. If you do neither, then yeah, the G26 is good to go.
  5. The racks at Anniston were pretty bare when I was down there a few months ago. Said then that I'd never go back as there's no reason to. I'd make an exception and make the drive to Anniston to hand pick one of those out.
  6. For $30 for 3 years, it's still one of the best deals going. Use it once and it pays for itself by avoiding TICS and a transfer fee.   AIM Surplus usually has some C&R stuff in stock. Mosin revolvers, Tokarevs, Radoms, Mosin 1891/30s, Mosin M44s, various Swiss 7.5 rifles. Every now and then they get something super cool like the pre-63 FN HiPower 9mm or 1903 Springfields.
  7. Drive by before parking and see if they're wanding. That will save you the walk.
  8. Here's a good step-by-step guide for obtaining a C&R license. http://www.garandgear.com/cnr_ffl_03   The only hassle is that you have to keep a "bound book" logging all C&R eligible purchases and sales (even if you didn't purchase it using your C&R license). That can be an actual book (available thorugh places like Brownell's) or sheets of paper in a 3-ring binder.   So if you buy a Mosin from a TGOer, it's an in-state face to face private sale that doesn't have to pass through an FFL. But it's still a C&R eligible item so you have to logg the purchase and any subsequent sale in your book. In theory, the BATFE can come by and check your books, but I don't know if they have ever actually done that outside of investigations where they're pretty sure someone's using the C&R license to run a firerms business.
  9.   I think Pete123 thought that C&R eligible firearms could be shipped to anyone directly w/o passing through an FFL. Pete, is that correct?   Pete if you don't have a FFL 03 (C&R license) it's super easy to get and makes some purchases more convenient. The days of $100 milsurps by the train car load are gone, but it's still nice to have when you find a good C&R item you want, like these Yugos or the ubiquitous Mosins. C&R BONUS: Midway and Brownell's give C&R licensees dealer pricing. A few others do to. Saved me a few bucks on parts when I built my last AR.
  10. Both the NFL and the MLB ban firearms from their games. I assume the MLB policy also applies to their minor leagues. That's their policy, but that does not mean it's legally enforceable. At the very least, they'd have to be posted in accordance with 39-17-1359 to have a snowball's chance of claiming it to be unlawful to carry with a permit. The same is true of Nissan Stadium. Someone's going to have to be a test case at one of these properties (or a similar one like Ascend Amphitheater) to know for sure.
  11.   I don't know. In the 22 pages of that thread, no new job was ever mentioned.   For those that missed it, it's one of the best delivering threads in TGO history. Easily in my personal favorite Top 10. The Jamie v. Strel subthread is fantastic in its own right. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/28505-got-myself-fired/     ETA: For the record, it was a light-up car topper that was thrown, not a training manual. Who here thinks that's even better?  I do!
  12. Unless you're under twelve, sack-up and bare hand that foul ball!  :D
  13. If it's not posted, then you can legally carry. No doubt about it. I don't know if they search/wand or not like they do at the unposted Bridgestone. If they do, then while it's still legal, it's not going to get past the minumum wage "security" guards if the wand hits on it. Real world vs. legal world at work there.   If it's posted, then nobody really knows for sure. It would seem that by a plain reading of the new law changes and from the AG's recent opinion on it, that it would be OK to carry. But Nashville's attorney says it's not on the grounds that sitting and observing a performance is not "recreating" as you're not involved in the recreational activity. I don't think that will hold up, but it's going to take a court case to decide it.   If/when I go if they're not wanding I'll be carrying because I think the Nashville attorney is full of it.
  14. Yep. Too many other people with good service will take your money.
  15. First, C&R does indeed mean they'll ship right to your door....IF you have an FFL 03 (aka a C&R license).   Second, I agree with you about their decpetive cash vs credit pricing. They aren't the only ones who do this and it's totally avoidable. It would be nice if they all had sites like Bud's or Kentucky Gun Co. which show both cash and credit prices at the same time, side by side, for easy comparison and very clear notice that you'll pay more for using a card. Or they can do like Prepper Gun Shop and most other e-commerce sites where there's no cash discount/card fee. But short of that, it isn't hard to have some text in bold red just below the price or the Buy button stating Cash Price Shown. Credit Card purchases will add a 3% charge. This isn't hard and prevents a TON of customer dissatisfaction. It's stupid to only show that under the terms and conditions. It's very likely that they don't keep any of the 3% bump. That's used to cover their costs from the card processing company. It doesn't benefit them in any way to hide the price difference. All it does is upset the customer.
  16.   Just don't throw the training manual at anyone when you leave.
  17. I once had an LCP that I took out of my pocket (in it's holster) and held in one hand with my wallet while I was wanded down at an event which was not posted. Passed right on through. It's just a show, not security.
  18. Me too, now I have both. I like the shorter barrel of the Kahr, but I like the shorter trigger of the Glock. The Kahr's trigger is buttery smooth, but it has a lot of take-up and no good stop before the break, plus a long reset. I'm more confident with when the gun will fire with the G43's trigger.
  19. I wonder if a garage floor epoxy would work on the steel. That stuff is pretty dang durable if you prep the surface well and follow the directions. Some are made with sand mixed in (or can have sand mixed in) for added anti-slip properties.
  20.
  21.   Be sure to pour a Coke on your floor the day before so it's nice and sticky, plus you have to leave the movie running when you get up to pee. No pausing allowed. When you get back, you have to interrupt anyone else in the room by saying "what did I miss?" That gives you the full movie theater experience at home. It helps if you empty an entire 12 pack of Coke into a plastic bucket and drink it all during the previews.
  22. Either that, or strips of stick-down grip tape.   Maybe that garage floor tile like Racedeck or SwissTrax? I'd bet Harbor Freight has some generic brand kits of that stuff. Maybe not as tough as the branded, but would work fine for walking on and storing stuff. The slotted tiles are good because any spilled liquids run underneath. Yeah, you have to pop up the tiles to clean, but the tiles won't be slippery.
