  1. You have the older 'hard open' frame. Some of them can be a bear. Sadly TC doesn't convert them anymore. Open your pistol and the lugs will be sticking out under the chamber. You should see a split in them if they are two piece. If it's a one piece, tc may send you two new lugs free of charge. Call and ask. You can also drive out the retaining pin and shorten the lug spring. This can cause problems on heavy kicking calibers, but the hornet should be fine. Just remove a little bit at a time and check it often. Now you need 15 more barrels.
  2. If you are shooting factory loads you owe it to yourself to handle a new vaquero. The size and weight are very handy. Mine is 45colt. That being said I still love my super blackhawk and the adjustable sights are a plus. I'm not an expert by any means, but I have researched all this stuff extensively. http://www.gunblast.com/Ruger-NewVaquero.htm
  3. vaquero was blackhawk size and can handle Ruger only loads. 'New vaquero' is smaller, near same size as early colts, and can not handle Ruger only loads. If it says 'Vaquero' it's an old model. If it says 'new vaquero' it's the smaller new model. Source: I own a super blackhawk and a new vaquero

  5. I also love the way the title throws homosexuals, criminals, and illegals all in the same boat. What if the war vet in question is a homosexual criminal. Can we push him then?
  6. Still got the same message. I say we go on strike. Occupy David's Yard.
  7. Third here. Same message.
  8. I lost the slide spring from a Browning Buckmark into the grass at Prentice Cooper. Never found it.
  9. I've got the brass pin, but the new gp100 doesn't have a place in the grip to store it. I didn't feel like digging into the safe for the box to retrieve the pin, hence the paper clip. The paper clip was gone and out of the picture when the plate fired off anyways. Slip of the hand. But I dig what your saying. It would of been easier with the pin.
  10. The third one of these I've done this way. Replacing hammer springs on my GP100s. Almost there! Ok now I can pull out the paper clip. That went good! Now just to back off the vise while holding the spring. Sprooooing! Well, it can't have went far. It must be in all of this cleaning stuff and boxes.. 20 minutes later Where the heck is it!? .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. "Meanwhile on the space station" Hey guys, come look! It's a Ruger GP100 mainspring seat! But seriously, it was in the bottom of that trash can in a pool of tomato sauce. Yay!
  11. I own three ruger DA revolvers and they all are like this to varying degrees. Its the way Ruger's lockwork is designed. Got to get that cylinder stop out of the way fast before the hand engages the cylinder. You should be able to rotate the cylinder counter-clockwise (I think its the same direction on the LCR as I'm looking at my GP100) because the spring loaded hand jumps out of the way, but if you try and rotate it backwards it will be stopped by the hand's carry up motion..   The hand should be able to carry the cylinder up and into the next stop even if you gently try to stop it. As long as it does this consider it normal operation.
  12. Cz did it. Cz 611 http://www.gunauction.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=9115159 They also sell the new 512 auto rifle in 22 mag. If anyone could do it right it would be CZ.
  13. no idea, this is not me. I just found it on the net when I wondered if anyone had scoped a ps90
  14. I just had to show you this... Turn close range praire dog hunting into a praire dog massacre. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_qaJyzQd2k Edit. This is not me, just a random video I found when I googled, rifle scope ps-90.
  15. I was simply going by Bud's current priceing. Also I said if I had to choose between the two. Neither would be my first choice.
  16. Armchair quarterbacking here. I don't own either of them, but know a little about both.   If I had to buy one based on your video and take it to war it would be the FN-5.7. Better bullet selection on the 5.7 than 22mag, better FT/LBs, better velocity.   FN-5.7 Pros: It can make it through an entire magazine without jamming. 5.7x28mm cartridge is faster and hits harder. Cons: Gun costs more, $1000+. Ammo is less available and costs more.   Keltec PMR-30: Pros: cheaper to purchase, $700ish. Ammo is more common. Cons: Failure every 2-3 shots. Seriously, does it ever get through a whole magazine?   Also, for Xtarheel's benefit. http://www.brownells.com/magazines/handgun-magazines/magazines/fn-five-seven-30-round-magazine-prod41387.aspx
  17. I added the Range Report #2 and a final photo to the first post. I wound up having to use a .375" tall front sight insert to get the elevation I needed to get on paper.
  18. 1980's police service six I traded for. Chambered in 38 special only. Group is 5 shots at 15 yards. I was aiming for the bullseye. I think this gun potential. I'm blaming the vertical stringing on the grips not being the best for my large hands.
  19. I have no problem with polygamy. None of my business and none of the states as long as the children are cared for and all parties are consenting. But I've read too much Heinlein.
  20. It's not finished yet. I'm going to jump up to the next sight height. I'm hoping to get all the bugs worked out for anyone ele who may want to do this.
  21. I'm not sure i get this reference.
  22. Got any citations? Show me that what was done was unconstitutional or outside of the realm of SCOTUS.
  23. Which is functioning in the way it was intended to, right? Or is it only working correctly when you agree with it.
