  1. I bought some of the WD40 Corrosion Inhibitor and it is some good stuff. It is not a lubricant but it is something I use all the time now.
  2. Like I told my wife, people are looking for any reason to riot and loot. If the decision was that the officer was not going to be prosecuted people were going to riot and loot. Now had the grand jury decide to prosecute those same people would have been so overjoyed they would have rioted and looted. Just saying those that riot and loot generally look for ANY reason to do it, good or bad.
  3. I will say that the AIM NiB BCG is super nice.
  4. Yeah, he is a great guy from what I gather and he has been footing a lot of the bill himself on our behalf.
  5. If you want I can deepen the grooves.
  6. I am currently at ~40 days on mine so I would not worry about it. Talking to others there has been a significant upturn in times recently.
  7. I am supporting them because there are not any organizations supporting NFA rights.   Perhaps we can get the 1986 ban repealed or even remove the NFA all together.
  8.   What have they contradicted in this decision?
  9. I do not believe ANY weapons should be illegal. Anyone who can own a single shot 22 should be able to own a full auto 50 BMG.   But as it stands some guns are considered illegal and, whether you agree with it or not, anyone caught breaking the law by shooting an illegal weapon should go to jail. Being ignorant of the law, refusing to accept the law or believing the law is unlawful does not mean a person did not break the law. If a person chooses not to follow the law, or does not understand the law, there is but one person to blame and that is the same person they see in the mirror. I would also be less concerned with the ATF, who do know firearm laws, and more concerned with the average officer you might run into who has no clue about NFA laws. I have had more officers try to convince me SBRs, silencers and machine guns are illegal for civilians to own. And those same officers would be the ones to arrest you for having one even though it would later be thrown out in court once a "valid defense" was presented. And even if the officer is 100% wrong and you are 100% right you must allow yourself to be arrested then use the courts later to address the unlawful arrest. You cannot legally resist arrest no matter the circumstances.   The ATF has, as plainly as anyone can, said that shouldering a "pistol", with or without a Sig brace, is perfectly legal. So adding a Sig brace to a "pistol" does not make it an illegal SBR, even if you shoulder it. The ATF has not reversed anything, this is a NEW ruling that addresses "firearms", not "pistols", with a Sig brace.    And as far as this opinion goes I find it hard to believe they came up with that. The reason is because it is perfectly legal to shoulder this "firearm" without the Sig brace just like any other "firearm". And because the ATF has said the Sig brace does not change the classification of the host weapon I find it hard to imagine how this would stand up. If it is legal to shoulder this "firearm" without a Sig brace how can it be illegal when the ATF has said the Sig brace does not change the classification of the weapon?
  10.   There is no trap that has been set. There are NO conflicting opinions. It IS legal to shoulder your "pistol". There is even an opinion that specifically addresses shouldering a "pistol".   Now if you do not follow the law and get arrested it is only one person's fault and that is not the arresting officer.   It is pretty simple really, shouldering a "pistol" is legal while shouldering a "firearm" is not.
  11. Personally I would look HARD at the Maverick 88. It is IDENTICAL to the Mossberg 500/590 except it has a trigger guard mounted safety, like the 870, rather than the tang mounted safety. The tang mounted safety makes use with a pistol grip or folding stock very awkward. Something else, the Maverick 88 uses standard Mossberg barrels. And finally, the bolt of the Mossberg locks into the barrel so you have 100% steel encircling the shell in case something bad happens.   You can pick up a Maverick 88 at most Walmarts for $199. They generally sell two versions, a wood stocked one with a long barrel and a synthetic version with a short, tactical style, barrel.   And anything that will fit a Mossberg will fit the Maverick 88 so there are plenty of aftermarket support for them. It IS the best bang for the buck in the shotgun market.
  12. Even without a VFG the sample gun would not be allowed to be shouldered because, even without the VFG, it is still a "firearm". The VFG changes a "pistol" to a "firearm", if it is over 26", but adding a VFG to a "firearm" does not change its definition to anything other than "firearm".
  13. The sample gun is not, and never was, a "pistol". It was a pistol gripped shotgun and from production it was never a "pistol", or a "shotgun" for that matter. The sample IS a "firearm" by definition because it does not meet the definition of any of the other types of weapons. If a weapon does not fall into the category of "pistol", "rifle" or "shotgun" it is a "firearm". And in this case the same gun sent to the ATF was not a" pistol", "rifle" or "shotgun" so it defaulted into the definition of "firearm" and the ATF has NEVER said the Sig brace is legal on a "firearm". There are a lot of people who have added a VFG to their AR pistol and I suspect this opinion will eventually corral those "firearms" into this ruling as well.   A "pistol" with the Sig brace will remain perfectly legal to shoulder and this ruling will not change that. Now once you add a VFG that "pistol" becomes a "firearm" and I believe this ruling would then apply to that "firearm". A "firearm" is a "firearm" regardless of what type of weapon it is.    BTW, that is the Firearms Technology Services Branch, not the Firearms Technology Branch. They are two different entities with two different jobs but I have always said that just because the ATF says it will not prosecute does not mean another agency will follow suit. Another agency might view adding a Sig brace to a pistol as a redesign to allow shoulder fire. And even as far as the ATF is concerned they have said that if the opinion letter does not have your name on top then it does not apply to you. But it would likely be used to easily defend yourself. Legality would be determined in a criminal case but, and as I said, another agency could arrest someone based on the federal definition of a "rifle" then leave you with the responsibility of proving they are wrong.   Federal Regulations state
  14. Is this a factory built gun?   Will it lock up without a round in the chamber? If so then it is likely a short chamber. If it will not then it could be a couple of things but the most likely cause would be a hood that is too long. Also the barrel link length can cause problems with this as well.   Does it have a compensator or other muzzle device on it?
  15. I have contacted Keltec and wish they would make these in 22lr. I would have bought one the second they came out at double the MSRP if they were in 22lr. But because they refuse to make one I will not be buying one. Making it only in 22 magnum was one of the most idiotic choices they have ever made and they have made a lot of idiotic choices.
  16. The bullet gets seated off the ogive of the bullet and OAL is measured from the tip. All, and I mean ALL, bullets vary between these two measurements. You would be surprised at how much the bearing surface will vary bullet to bullet, even in the same lot.   It is probably nothing to worry about. But if you are trying to load for the most accuracy there are a lot of steps you must take to ensure you are loading identical bullets.
  17. They tell everyone 3-4 weeks but the ~10 people I have recommended them to got them in under 2 weeks and some inside of a week.   It is a lot better for business for your customers to receive their item early than late. People will raise holy hell if their product is a day or two late so it is better to over estimate and have a happy customer than under estimate and have a pissed off one.
  18. I LOVE, with a capital L, my Taurus 24/7 and I would gladly trade a STAR Super B 9mm for one. I have an OSS/DS model and it is the most accurate 9mm I have ever shot. It has a great trigger and has been reliable for over 2K rounds.   I put the STAR Super B 9mm in the same category as a Llama. Yes they are reliable but beyond that they are not anything special and are actually a "budget" gun.
  19. Police would not do a report because they said they could not determine if the damage was caused by us or a third party. Trust me when I say I had some choice words when they refused to come out. All they kept saying is contact your insurance and file a claim.
  20. My brother, who had all kinds of infected pustules all over his body, tried to steal some steaks by shoving them under his shirt and in his pants. When he was caught the store put them back in the meat container. Needless to say we did not buy any meat there for a long while.
  21. He will never see a day of jail time, too many people in his corner in government. Even if he did go to jail I bet the President would pardon him before leaving office.
  22. My first semi auto was a Jennings 22. I bet I put 2,000 rounds through that thing and never had a problem. It even travelled with me to Germany and back before I finally traded it off. I could hit 5 gallon bucket sized targets at 75 yards with mine.
  23. Then add some cream!
  24. Unless you own the car completely the insurance will not pay you directly for you to live with the damages. We had someone back into our truck so we filed a claim. They said they would pay for the repairs but any cash pay outs would go to the bank that held the note on the truck and not to us. The insurance also said our rates would increase if we had it repaired because we could not prove it was not us that damaged the truck. In the end we had a truck that was damaged that we had to live with and did not get paid to live with. Luckily the dealership that took it in on trade did not mention the damage when working up the trade in value.
  25. And the criteria for evidence to find you guilty is a lot lower in a civil court. It might be harder to convict you in criminal court but you might also loose your freedom. In civil court you are not risking your freedom but it is also easier for you to loose everything.   And one more thing a lot of people do not realize is anyone can file a lawsuit for anything and it must be heard by a judge. Someone can bring a civil suit against someone else for any reason and no matter how ludicrous the lawsuit is the lawsuit must be heard before it can be thrown out. And call me crazy but I would NEVER find myself in front of a judge without an attorney by my side, no matter how crazy the lawsuit might sound. Fortunately there are also remedies for those who have been hit with a frivolous lawsuit.
