Do you have a part number or UPC?   I am looking for one now.

Personally I would zero at 100 yards. That way when you are dialing the scope all the adjustments are in one direction. With a 200 yard zero you might have to go below your zero for the closer shots. I know for me it can get confusing.

  BTW, mine is legal according to the ATF/Feds. It was not made under the Freedom Firearms Act of Tennessee. Yes I made it but I did not make a single part before I submitted and got approved 40 days later. BTW, I have a lot more information about the silencer that I will be posting in that thread shortly.

They have been saying they are going to open the other ranges for a very long time, at least 10 years, but I have yet to hear of ANYONE who has shot on those long ranges. I cannot imagine what sort of arbitrary rules they are going to have in place for them. The rules for the 100 yard bench rest range are idiotic at best then you have a bunch of idiots trying to enforce idiotic rules and it becomes laughable. I have personally seen things I will never forget and heard things that make you wonder how they survived childhood.

How cool, I learned something new today. I never knew AMT made a backup in 22 long rifle. I have always like the AMT backups even though I have never owned one.

I have shipped several long guns, and stripped receivers, through the post office. I have not had any issues at all. I do call ahead to make sure the person working the desk knows it is legal. If they say I can't then I print off their rules and bring it with me along with the gun that is being shipped. You cannot ship handguns through the postal service unless you are a dealer, even if going to a dealer, but anyone can ship a long gun.

It definitely is a gray area. If he is a friend doing it for a friend then there is no issues at all. Now if he is doing it as part of a business and charging you then he probably needs to have an FFL.

I am getting the best results using the DT method. I have tried every single method for coating and DT works best with the powder I use. Goo that the lacquer thinner method works for you, it worked for me too but it was not as easy as the DT method.

The best, yes BEST, ammo to use in a 22 pistol if that is all you have for defense is the Aguila 60 grain SSS. It creates a larger permanent wound channel and penetrates over 8" into gelatin. It tumbles immediately upon impact if it is not already tumbling in the air. Stingers are the worst choice because they need barrel length to get the velocities they claim. I have chornographed a lot of the "hyper velocity" stuff in short barrels and most will not break 1,050 fps. Combine that will the 30-32 grain bullet and you have what is equal to a 22 short.   Second choice would be the CCI Velocitor. It too suffers from reduced velocities in the short barreled pistols but it also has a 40 grain bullet which works well for going deep.   I have chronographed the SSS in a Taurus PLY22 and it average 790 fps. Yes, reply to the email or log on and "ask the experts". Include your serial number and the control number and let them know it is watermarked "DRAFT". My last one was a draft as well and I got a response in about 15 minutes with the correct one that does NOT have a watermark.     I assume your suppressor is a F1 submission because you cannot eFile and F4 right now. I will say my recent F1 suppressor took a little longer than "normal", I can only assume because my trust was not in the manufacturer's list was the reason why. I did not get a submitted date until about 5 days after I actually submitted. A few days after submitting I did get an a "change of status" that said it was being reviewed or something like that then 2-3 days later it had a date in the submitted column. I assumed the delay was because they were investigating the manufacturer of the suppressor which was my trust.

What is odd is what is coming out is clear, an infection usually is milky and definitely not clear. My wife mentioned perhaps it is some sort of plasma that is collecting and congealing. If it were me I would definitely warm the affected area to make what comes out a bit thinner. I have no suggestion on what it might be but it definitely is something that needs to be addressed.

What is really sad is a lot of these imposters, from what I have found, have actually been in the military. Most are some sort of support MOS like a cook or driver or supply. That lets them know enough to BS 99% of the people they meet. But when they meet the 1% who are actually real deal Ranger, SF, PJ, MARSOC, SEAL it is obvious those that lie are full of it.

Norris is 200 yards but the 100 yard line is more like 123 yards.   Norris is $40 a year or $20 for the day. Heck, let me know what day you are heading out and I might be able to meet you. I have several guns I need to shoot at 200 yards.   Nice looking boom stick.

  That opinion last week was regarding shouldering a Sig brace on a "firearm", not a "pistol". The Sig brace is legal to shoulder on a "pistol" but there has never been an opinion on shouldering a "firearm" with the Sig brace, at least not until last week. A "firearm" is a weapon that does not meet the definition of a "rifle", "pistol" or "shotgun". And the specimen submitted for an opinion was a pistol grip shotgun and a pistol grip shotgun does not meet the definition of a "rifle", "pistol" or "shotgun" so by default it is a "firearm". This was the first opinion regarding shouldering a Sig brace on a "firearm".   The ATF's opinion regarding shouldering a Sig brace on a "pistol" has not changed with this opinion.   The opinions are about two totally different types of weapons in the eyes of the ATF.   Personally I think it will come out that it will be illegal to shoulder a AR with a Sig brace AND a VFG. That is because adding a VFG changes the classification of a weapon from "pistol" to "firearm". And in doing so it will not contradict the opinion on shouldering a "pistol" with a Sig brace. It will also be in line with the recent opinion regarding shouldering a "firearm" with the Sig brace.

You would be surprised what manufacturers will send you. I contacted the maker of our water heater complaining the element went bad and a few days later we had a new element for free.

A pistol with a Sug brace is not a "firearm". I have said it before and will say it again. Just because the ATF has chosen not to prosecute does not mean any other agency will not either. And as far as our state law a defense to prosecution is not a defense to arrest or jail. During the court case is where you would present your defense. Just so happens officers choose not to arrest once presented your "defense".

I have SEVERE tinnitus. Enough so that the VA has rated it. It sounds like I am sitting under 1,000 fluorescent light bulbs now and it really bothers me when things are really quiet. I have some frequencies that are 75%+ gone.   Mine, without a doubt, are firearms related. I have shot such big things without hearing protection that my equilibrium would be off for a few days and I would have near total loss of hearing for the rest of the day.   Now I wear hearing protection anytime I am around anything loud. Even with hearing loss gun shots hurt now.   It will come back but you will have some damage. 223 is very hard on your hearing.

I had to set my thermostat a bit higher to get the amount of hot water I needed with a 60 gallon tank. I too had a calcium build up as well as a bad element. When I replaced the elements I turned the thermostat up.   I will say that after replacing several water heaters in 10 years and a couple of sets of elements, because of calcium, there are signs. One of the biggest signs you have calcium buildup, either in the tank or on the elements, is the water heater makes a lot of noise as it tries to heat up. Almost like a hissing, or bubbling, noise from inside the water heater. It will also sound like it is popping. And one of the biggest signs you have a bad element is if you feel an electrical "tingle" when you hand is in running water and you are grounded. I have had that happen a couple of times as well.   The last time we replaced the elements we removed probably 15 pounds of calcium buildup in the bottom of the tank. The element was so thick with calcium we had problems pulling them out of the holes.   I would replace the elements and turn the thermostat up a bit. Most come set for around 115-120 which means for a lot of people that requires no mixing of cold water. The mixing of cold water to cool the hot water is what increases the amount of hot you have and the only way to be able to mix in cold water is to increase the hot water. Just be mindful that when you increase the hot water temperature you also increase the chance of scalding if you have kids in the house.

So I wonder if it was planned that Mothers Demand Action use the same call letters as Muscular Dystrophy Association?   Personally, I would not even respond to their silliness. These types thrive on the attention they create and receive. They would "die on the vine" if no one even acknowledged them.

From experience a blown head gasket rarely leaks radiator fluid out onto the ground. Most times it results in either oil in the antifreeze, which will cause the oil to rise to the top and be easily identified, or antifreeze in the oil, which will make the oil look just like a chocolate milk shake. If you have neither of these then I would assume it is an external leak like a hose or perhaps a water pump and not a blown head gasket.   I suspect the hoses have never been replaced if the belt hasn't and both need replaced before any serious damage happens.

You can still get good, affordable health insurance. You just have to find the insurance that does not meet ACA standards. I know my wife found insurance that was less than $100 a month with a low deductible and it paid 80% with no caps. Also had reasonable copays for office visits as well as CHEAP ER visits. When I was talking to the agent she said that my wife would have to pay the penalty for not having ACA compliant insurance. But because my wife does not work, she helps me, she would not have to pay the penalty because she has no income and does not file tax returns.   You just need to weigh the costs. If the non compliant insurance plus the "fee" is less I would jump on it. Heck, even if it were not cheaper I would because most non ACA compliant insurance seems a lot better. It is basically the same insurance as before the ACA became law.   I have yet to find a policy that is ACA compliant that pays more than 50% and is affordable. I knew when they made health insurance mandatory it would become more expensive like car insurance did when it became mandatory.

Higher rings will allow you to move the scope back as well.
