  1. To figure out the width in inches take the first number and divide by 25.4 and that will give you the size in inches. The second number is the percentage of the width of the tire. Say a tire is 10" wide and the second number is 60 that means the side wall is 6" tall.   So your 275/60/15 tires will have a tire width of 10.8" and on a 15" rim the height of the tire will be 28". That way you can find a much wider tire that is the same height as the factory tires so you do not have speedometer issues.   Pretty sure you can also get some wheels with more backspacing to get a wider tire in there as well. It is a really popular body style so I am sure you could do some googling and see what would fit. A good friend has one with some decent sized tires on his. If you want I can ask him what he is running.   A 300/55/15 is the same height as 275/60/55 but the tread is actually an inch wider at 11.8" wide.   A cheap way to figure out what size you want is to go to a used tire shop and see what they have. I bet they would mount some for a lot less than buying them to see if they will fit. Even if you have to buy some used tires they are generally less than $30 a piece for useable tires.

  3. I do not like the factory baffle because I think the "vents" are too big. You might try covering 90% of the opening with duct tape to test.
  4. I missed the part about the pistol buffer tube, disregard my post.
  5. And in six months, after hurricane season, I will post a picture of my house still standing.
  6. I would rather have a NiB bolt than a Ti bolt but it doesn't look as pretty.
  7. I have had it as well as the Mission First Tactical version. I personally like the MFT version better. Makes the gun shoulder a lot better but it makes the gun a lot thicker too. If you do a lot of bench shooting then they are great but for general shooting, like standing or kneeling, they are a bit of a pain.
  8. It always amazed me how you can take a young kid with a decent head on his shoulders and turn him into a blubbering idiot with basic training. Honestly I am not sure I could have maintained my composure.
  9. I wonder if this could be scaled up to provide energy for household items? The biggest advantage is the run time.   In a true, end of the world situation, I think I would rather have this. http://biolitestove.com/products/biolite-campstove
  10. This is the cheapest dentist I have ever been to. http://www.yellowpages.com/kodak-tn/mip/e-stinson-woody-d-d-s-472803775   I had a tooth pulled, x-rays, exam and prescription for like $120. Just had some more work done, two fillings, more x-rays, another prescription and it was $230 out the door.   He is in Sevierville, about 4 miles off of 40.
  11. It was another Academy Sports that it happened at. Seems to be a problem with corporate policy or the employees not following corporate policy but either way they need to know. I too have had problems with Academy and what happened is the main reason I have not been back since.
  12. Silent Capture Spring.   It is the new buffer system that uses 1911 type springs to tune. Supposedly quieter than a standard spring.
  13. Yep unless the manufacturer is in Tennessee but even so any manufacturer making M855 probably has a government contract they would loose.
  14. Now if we can get rifle carry like a HCP allows.
  15.   Cool, I didn't realize that was passed.

  17. You can actually have a LOADED long gun in your vehicle now as long as you have a HCP. That changed a year or two ago.

  19. It is Tennessee aw that says you cannot have ammunition with your long gun, not the fed.
  20. So we know you cannot carry a long gun outside of your vehicle with ammunition present. But I got to thinking what if your long gun takes the same magazines as your sidearm?   With the recent release of the Nano Glock carbine it would seem like a perfect gun to SBR and carry with you. And because you would not have ammunition for it I would think that it would be legal to do so. But in the event that you need a rifle just drop the magazine out of your Glock and put it into the Nano.   So what does everyone else think?
  21. Moved to general chat and pinned until the outcome.
  22. ATF has gone and lost a bit more of their mind. Now adding a buffer tube constitutes an NFA "firearm" unless it has the SB-15 brace attached. Notice in the definition, 5845(a)(3) , that is says adding the buffer tube to an AK makes it a SBR. So if you ONLY have a buffer tube might be a good time to pick up some of those cheap Sig braces.
  23. Makes you wonder how it would be mutilated. Must be some serious equipment to do it.
  24. Shot some tracers I have been afraid to shoot for a while.
