If anything is attached to a gun and reduces, or changes, the sound of a gun shot it must be registered as a silencer. Even if it only reduces it by one decibel it must be registered. The very first 22 MP5SDs had a barrel shroud that looked like a fake silencer. Because it could be reversed and installed on the barrel and because it changed the sound there was a recall issued for importer to correct the issue. Anyone caught with the original shroud on their MP5SD could find themselves answering some questions Most fake silencers are nothing more than a heavy wall tube that does not reduce the sound.

You might get hit for a disorderly conduct charge if the officer decides to be a dick.

For a lot of these groups as of late it has to do with money, making it that is, and that includes pro gun groups. They seen an opportunity to make a buck and jumped on it.

Is this scope badly damaged?
Dolomite_supafly replied to Symbolic's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I NEVER use the long end of an allen wrench tighten a scope down. I used the long end once and it left marks on the tube so I started using the short arm on the wrench since then and I have yet to have a scope shoot loose or move. Those are not creases and should not affect the warranty. I returned a scope to Mueller when the objective ring would shift the zero and they replaced it no questions asked. -
And honestly most people would not notice what you are carrying. We all think we are printing because WE know the gun is there but the average person will never notice. Most are oblivious to their surroundings and would never notice a concealed gun regardless of how big it is. I have worn shirts that were tight enough to outline the gun and never noticed anyone acting like I was made. Since getting my Shield life is a lot better because it is so much lighter than my 1911. One of the biggest things that those carrying guns do that gives them away is they constantly touch their gun. I see people adjusting their gun or touching it, I presume to make sure it is still there, as well as resting their hand on the gun's grip. If you need to check if you still have your gun you need a different holster. Also, you should be able to feel the weight, or mass, of the gun without the need to constantly check if it is still there.

Why wrap it in paracord? There is no legal requirement to use a "pistol" buffer tube on a pistol lower. The ATF has stated that the type of buffer tube does not determine what the gun is, the attached stock does. So long as the stock is not on the pistol's buffer tube or the only thing around the stock is your pistol lower. That is if you have a 6 position buffer tube on your pistol you are fine unless you have a stock in the same area that can not fit on anything else. The 300 Blackout does gain velocity by going from a 8" to a 16" barrel but the gains are very small. Matter of fact it continues to gain velocity all the way out to 30" of barrel length. But the gains are definitely not enough to warrant a 16" barrel if velocity is your only concern. Any gun with ~8" barrel is very, very handy but the 300 Blackout is better than any other caliber with that 8" barrel. And when you add a silencer it is still not excessively long like a 16" barrel with an 8" silencer. And a 8" barrel with a pistol length gas system is more reliable than a 16" barrel with a carbine length gas system. If you are ever in the Knoxville area you are more than welcome to shoot mine. I also have a silencer for mine that makes it hearing safe with subsonic ammunition.

For that you can have a proven design in the MP5. But I wanted something other than an MP5. I have a lot of trigger time on the MP5, a real FA, and I feel it is a bit outdated but still a good system. No way I would spend MP5 money on an unproven system. If I had my way I would have a locked breech 9mm carbine so it would suppress well and not need all the extra weight.

If, when, things do kick off there will be some who view it like traditional military operations and will go out in their gear, as a group, and get easily killed off by those in power. But, as we all know, the real test for those in power will be how they deal with the guerilla operations that will come later. Then the real challenge will be who will be the new person, people, in charge and how corrupt they will become. We have to be careful because we do not know who the next power brokers will be and things could get a lot worse before they get better. In the end I do not see the United States being anything more than a has been super power. The US is already in its final death throws because we have millions living in poverty, we have no more freedom to do what we want, our veterans not being treated well and we ARE subjects to our ruling class. That tells me the country is already past the point of no return and there is no way to fix it other than to let it fail in order to rebuild. But before they let those welfare leeches, who have not paid into the system, starve our government will starve those on social security, who have paid into the system, and our veterans. We now have a national healthcare system that is not about helping people but about putting more money into the pockets of those that rule over us. Funny thing is the veterans they are alienating are the ones they will need again very soon. We are poking the bear and have been for several years. At some point Putin is going to have enough and we will be in WWIII which will cost everyone except those in power who will continue to get rich off the US war machine.

BTW, I have changed my mind and I will NEVER own one of the newly released 9mm AKs. They have duped an entire community. They asked if there would be interest in a 9mm AK and EVERYONE asked about pricing. They said under $1,000 and probably under $900. Well they released them yesterday and they are nearly double that.

I have carried and concealed both and I think the 1911 prints less. I know it is a lot thinner than a G17/19. I actually preferred carrying an all steel 1911 to a G17 because of how thin it is.

Hmmmm, after the first dryer sheet run I never had dust left behind but I also use a bunch of polish. I add the polish and let the tumbler run for like 30 minutes to get everything mixed well then I add the brass. I also do not just fill up the tumbler. I want just enough media to move the brass. Too much media actually works worse because it cushions the brass. Part of the cleaning process is the brass rubbing on each other.

An easy way to prevent movement is to squeeze the setscrew with pliers. Moves some metal and binds your adjustments in place. -
I was shot by a faulty safety on someone else's duty gun. His belt fell to the ground and when it hit the 1911 went off. The bullet, which was FMJ, passed through my leg, ricocheted off a candy machine and lodged in a wall. I walked around 2-3 minutes before I realized something was wrong. My heal began going numb so I figured the bullet hit the sole of my boot. When I looked down I noticed white stuff hanging out of my boot. Turned out to be my sock. From the time I was shot until I healed it felt no worse than a sore, or pulled, muscle. And it did not bleed a single drop until the doctors began treating me. It did cause a hairline fracture in one of my shin bones but because of the open wound they did not cast it. The bullet passed through ~4"-5" of flesh as well as through the boot material. The officer said there was a round in the chamber but I am unclear if the hammer was down or if the gun was cocked with the the thumb safety engaged. The grip safety was not engaged. I tell this when people claim FMJ from a 1911 will rip your arm or leg off with a graze. Or that it will incapacitate no matter where you are hit. I could have easily continued to fight indefinitely. Matter of fact once I seen it was not bleeding I argued with EMS because I did not want to be transported to the ER. It was a pass through would that was not life threatening and would have healed fine with the doctors.

I do not worry about the adjustments moving, within 20-30 rounds the carbon will lock the adjustments in place. But nothing wrong with an additional lock either. These are the ones I use now: http://bte-usa.com/parts/micro-gasblocks.htm They are 17-4 and clamp on. Amazing little blocks. -
What the government does not realize is that in the 30+ years of war our country has seen they have created millions of patriots. And how ironic that the patriots they created that will be the ones take back the country from those who created them. I just wonder at what point we go from using politics to using arms. Right now those in power are using racism, economic divides and gun control to distract most from seeing what they are doing but some of us see it plain as day.

It is dusty but I cut up some used dryer sheets and put it in the media for 20 minutes before using it. Gets rid of a lot of the dust. When you add your polish, I use a 50/50 mix of NuFinish and Liquid Turtle wax, it keeps the dust down. But even with that I would STRONGLY recommend closing up the tumbler as the dust can have some nasty stuff AFTER you tumble. I use a piece of plastic and sandwich it between the bowl and lid. If you brass is really, really nasty and tarnished some you can add some Marine Finish restorer. It is for oxidized boat hulls. It doesn't take much but it works really well, you will need to finish it with some time with your regular polish to get rid of the dull finish left by the marine restorer though.

Take a look at the Nano Glock rifle. Hard to be a Glack capable rifle for $550. http://www.centerfiresystems.com/ri0034.aspx http://www.kipstaton.com/new-blog-1/2015/2/2/nano-16-9mm-carbine-out-of-left-field-with-glock-mags -

Install and adjustable gas block. You will be amazed at how your gun will feel when tuned. BTW, your barrel is more than likely over gassed as it is because manufacturers drill them too big so they do not get something back for warranty work because it will not cycle Tula or Wolf. -
Most people who complain about the thumb safety being bumped off have the extended safeties. In my opinion the extended thumb safety is useless and dangerous. Every 1911 I have ever carried has had a standard thumb safety. I have bought brand new guns with extended thumb safeties and I remove them immediately or file them down much, much smaller. I do that because I would have the extended thumb safety get bumped off all the time. Soft leather holsters are dangerous. You MUST have a stiff, either leather or plastic, holster in order for you to avoid shooting yourself or others. And the absolutely worst holster is the floppy, one size fits all, canvas holsters with the thump strap. I see people carry all the time using those canvas POS holsters and they are flat out dangerous. I have cut up those canvas holsters rather than even give them away because they are so dangerous. And people who carry a gun in them regularly, or even occasionally, are dangerous idiots that have no hope of defending themselves. All they are doing is carrying the gun, in the same way people carry HCP badges, to try to impress someone or because they are too stupid to realize how idiotic it is to carry a HCP or a gun in a canvas holster.

If it is reliable I would not worry about it. Might want to chronograph them to make sure they are not obscenely over FPS wise. -

That too, the seller does not want to ship but I do not care if it gets shipped. Shipping would be kind of a last resort but I do not mind it.
