They are bad ass. I seen my first one in Germany in 1992. You could hear something was a miss then I realized what it was and was in awe.

Take a look at the crown, if there is an issue let me know. A couple of things I would try. First, use something to put a pressure pad back 1" from the tip of the stock. That will act like a bedded stock and should settle the groups down some. I have used cork, sponges and even foam ear plugs at times. When tightening the stock into thd action do it this way. Loosen all screws but do not remove them. Pull the barrel away from the stock at the forearm. And while trying to hold the barrel away from the stock tighten the screw at the rear most position. Then do the next one, and the next one, until the action is tight in the stock. This ensures the recoil lug is firmly against the stock. This can help reduce harmonics. You would also want to add the pressure pad while doing this. If that doesn't work then free float the barrel. Take the pressure pad and place it right in front of the recoil lug between the stock and barrel. Then tighten using the method above. I would also verify that your optics are tight.

If the bore is in the middle, not offset, I can do it. Send me a PM so we can get this worked out. -
I found out how much is too low

Use a baffle in the hopper. It will make ANY powder dispenser extremely consistent. -
You want the heaviest bullet the barrel will reliably stabilize. The faster the twist for a given bullet the more the groups will open up but how much it bothers you will depend on you. The best groups I even shot consistently were out of a 9 twist barrel shooting 69 grain bullets. Same bullets in a 7 twist resulted in larger groups even after working up the best possible load. For an 8 twist I would say you want at least a 73 grain but ideally probably 77-80. Think of it like an out of balance tire. The faster it spins the more off center it becomes. Every bullet is out of balance to some degree and the faster you spin then the more off center they become. There are some bullet makers who even suggest that bullets will not truly settle down for several hundred yards. I have read about people having smaller 200 yard groups than their 100 yard groups so there might be some truth to what is being said by the maker.

There is also a giant hornet that kills cicadas. I watched "something" knock a cicada out of the air as it flew. I walked over to see what it was and from about 10 feet away I head crunching sounds. I watched it remove the cicadas head then the wasp grabbed the cicada and flew off with it. The wasp was over an inch long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphecius_speciosus The one wasp that scares the bejesus out of me doesn't even fly, at least the females don't. It is the velvet ant and crawls across the ground like a giant ant. The males will swarm above the female and it is easy to see when the female is in the area because of the males hovering above her. She is few and the males are black with a white strip. They call it a cow killer and even though I have never been stung I have heard, and read, of the pain involved with being stung. I read the pain can last up to 6 months. You can hear the female too as flaps the stubs that are her wings.

Who has a M70 AB2 with grenade sight

Mine came with a black, parkerized bolt carrier. -
http://www.stockadegunstocks.com/3.html I really like the PDS/T and they will build it at any LOP you want. They are also very light. Another that I really like is the Boyds tactical stocks. They are a lot cheaper because they are wood but they feel really nice. http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/ They are not as heavy as a lot of the other "tactical" stocks you find.

Finally took my wife to shoot the ar, need some guidance
Dolomite_supafly replied to hlb14's topic in Long Guns
Build or buy a 9mm carbine. Prices are really low on them right now. I recently seen a "kit" that had everything but the stripped lower for $550. That is what I did for my wife when she didn't like the concussion of a 223. It is also a lot cheaper to shoot and a lot more reliable. -
I hope I never forget. I had the number changed twice now with no record of it anywhere other than in my head.

Here is my feeling on education and how it affects people. Everyone has a finite amount of storage for memory and common sense. There is nothing that can be done to increase that storage capacity. And that memory isn't like a memory chip but more like a drinking glass and as you learn that glass fills up. Now it depends on the individual whether they gifted with a big gulp or cursed with a shot glass. For most of us we are some where in the middle. The bigger the glass the more you can learn but you cannot learn more than your glass holds. The shot glass is just big enough to hold the basics needed to eek through life but not much more. Those that have a shot glass are those people that are hopelessly stupid. They have very little knowledge and even less common sense. Its all they can do to get up, get dressed and survive the day. No amount of learning is going to fix it. The reason is because there little shot glass is already filled with all the basic things like their name, how to get dressed and how to eat. If these people get any more knowledge it will overflow their little shot glass and they will loose some of the basic things they need to survive. Now there are some who start out with a much larger glass but they are not immune to getting dumber either, it just takes a lot more learning. They were once smart people with common sense but after years and years of learning their much larger cup begins to overflow. When that happens people who were once considered smart with common sense loose some of it because the additional education causes their glass to overflow. When that happens they not only loose some smarts and common sense but what they have left gets diluted with the newly acquired education. We have all seen them, they go off to college decently smart with some common sense but come back unable to take care of themselves but they can recite Pi to 1,000 places. And this is what I think happened to the guy suggesting this, he has had so much education that his common sense has been diluted to a point that he is an idiot. And this also happens to people who do not go to college, it just takes longer. As the glass fills of with memories of their life and they learn other things the glass begins to overflow. This process takes much longer but it does happen. That is why as people get older they tend to loose their common sense as well as forget things because as their glass overflows they cannot choose what they loose. And once your cup has overflowed, and the information inside has been diluted, there is nothing that can be done to reverse the process.

SMKW sells guns? When did they start? I am not a knife guy so I rarely go in there. It has been at least 5 years since I walked in there.

Yep, or buy from another individual in the same state. -
Low Perfecta Pricing is Ending
Dolomite_supafly replied to M60A3's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Walmart will price match other stores in the area on identical, in stock, items. Plenty of times I have had a Walmart employee call another store to get a lower price. Of the employee won't ask for manager. But brick and mortar Walmart stores will not price match any online store or website, including Walmart.com. I am really looking hard at the military 12 gauge buckshot at Walmart for ~$1 a round. -

Dolomite_supafly replied to Caster's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
The only guns that a dealer may sell to someone under 21 is long guns. A silencer, and any other NFA item, is not considered to be a long gun so dealers cannot sell those to anyone under 21 either. But, just like pistols, NFA items may be sold by an individual as long as the buyer is 18 or older. But because a dealer cannot transfer the NFA item to anyone under 21 the sale of the NFA item must be to someone within the same state. -

Just make sure you keep the overall length above 26". -
I REALLY like the Keltec M43 bullpup. Something about the metal and wood appeals to me.

I leave the FSB on the barrel while I grind on the FSB.

If you hand load Vihtavouri has a recipe for 147 grain bullets at 1,200 fps. It is not +P and it chronographed where it should out of a 4" barrel. It won't be as fast out of he barrel of the PF-9 but will still do well. The powder is either 3N38 or 3N37. You can definitely tell a difference between a full magazine and empty when shooting it. The last round stings like a 357 magnum.

One had a Keltec Sub2000. I carry a rifle EVERYWHERE I go because you never know when or where an attack might happen. -
Rainier, and most other rail makers, have rails that use milspec barrel nuts with the delta ring removed. Almost all of them recommend cutting the delta ring off. As Mike said the FSB is only good on your barrel using the taper pins. I have drilled and tapped the bayonet lug for a setscrew and used it to secure it to another barrel. If anyone helping him needs tools let me know.

I wonder what he wants it for? Colibri might be better, and easier to get, depending on what he needs it for.

I was NOT being sarcastic in my post. I am serious about what I said, they are safer than most other handguns because the HighPoint does not lock the breech.
