You can see in the first video the female officer puller her taser out first. Then, when she realized it was a bit more serious she drew her lethal firearm and that is why there is a delay. She pulls the taser at 0:51 in the first video then by 0:54 she has transitioned to her sidearm. I would not convict her or even question her actions.

Gas key staked enough?
Dolomite_supafly replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Yeah, the staking is fine. -
I guess it is better to beat the competitor to the punch and release a crappy product rather than to be second with a much better product.

That does seem a bit high. But also watch out for those who under estimate then hit you with a HUGE bill. That is what happened to me. I talked to the guy drilling our hole and got a written estimate. It was $7 a foot so I said go ahead and drill. He hit a couple of gallons at 75 feet and like four more gallons per minute at 125 feet. I told them to go ahead and go to 200 feet for a reserve thinking the bill would be $1,400. After he was done I told him to let me pay what I owed before starting the next step. He sent me a bill for $2,800, twice what I was quoted. When I asked why it was so much more he said the pipe costs money, the grout for the pipe costs money and a few other items brought the cost up. And although I did not agree I went ahead and paid it before finding someone else to finish the work. We were already under a lot of stress as we were building our own house and just did not want to deal with any more. Our well flows between five and six gallons a minute and with 200' in reserve we should never run out of water as long as we don't run it constantly. I had a friend who hit water at 13 feet. They started drilling right into rock and like 20 minutes later they had water shooting out of the hole. If I could I would have city water in a heartbeat. A lot of water in my area leaves rust colored stains from the sediment. It can also sometimes smell of sulfur. I also get 3-4 years between water heater elements because of the sediment that collects on the elements.

I watched a friend go through this with her mother and it was heartbreaking. Her mother stayed at home pretty much until the end. It is the one disease I will not suffer very long with. You are local to me so if you, or your family, need help with anything please feel free to ask.

Not cleansing, eradication of all the cultures the liberals find offensive. We are slowly loosing this battle and by the time we realize what they have done it will be too late.

Powder Coat lubed bullets
Dolomite_supafly replied to SHARPPOINT's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Well it depends on the size after powder coating. Treat a powder coated bullet like a cast bullet as far as size goes. For my 308 bores I size my PCd bullets to .310. And just to ward off future issues avoid using Harbor Freight powders unless you are using a gun. Any other method to coat bullets will be hit and miss. I use, and prefer, Powder Buy The Pound over all others. There is a seller on eBay names DMC-2 or something like that. His powder goes on great but has a lower melting point and in some calibers/guns the powder coating will fail leaving lead in the barrel's throat and leading to malfunctions. Rather than bring the water up to a boil WITH the bullets in there I would boil the water, remove it from the heat for a couple of minutes then add the bullets. If you heat the pot with the bullets in the pot the ones on the bottom might get too hot and deform. Now I could be totally wrong, and I hope I am, but it would also be bad to ruin a few hundred bullets. I have spoke to people who put their lubed bullets in a pan in the oven at 200 degrees. That should be hot enough to melt off 95% of the lubes out there. You could put them in a metal colander or maybe on a screen of some sort. Just be aware if you get the oven to hot it might start smoking. -
This is our son, and his lovely wife, winning not one but two awards during his recent Air Force leadership academy. We are so proud of our son. Only 2% win the Academic Excellence but on top of that he also won the Distinguished Graduate award. His Academic Excellence award was for having the highest academic scores of two training flights, 30 students. The Distiguished Graduate award is given to the Airman who displayed outstanding leadership during the course as voted by his peers. He is, and always will be, my hero.

Handicapped shooter assistance
Dolomite_supafly replied to graycrait's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Turns out my friend, who is my doctor, knows Sam and Mack. So between us we will do all we can to get him shooting. -
Spell it out with a space between the letters. I have spoke to pawn shops and they generally do not check when buying a gun unless there is a reason to be suspicious. Noe they ARE required to check it when it is sold or if the person who pawned it decides to pick it back up. Or at least that is the way it was 4-5 years ago. What you might want to do is put up a WTB ad. Not the gun specifically but a general request for something the stolen gun will fall into. Like if it were a Ruger LCP put an ad for a small pocket pistol. This might get the thief because he might be looking for a way to get rid of it without posting an ad. And if you think you have found it don't go it alone, explain and ask LE for help. Also, you can buy a $10 webcam and get free motion detection software for the house. And most insurance companies will give you a significant discount. I know my discount was 10% which aid for the webcam the first month. And depending on the software you can get email alerts and snapshots sent to your phone.

How Prepared Are You?
Dolomite_supafly replied to shotgunshooter's topic in Survival and Preparedness
36 points That list is geared towards people who are bugging out. If SHTF in a major way I am not going ANYWHERE. At your house is the most you will ever have, why leave with less or risk your life by leaving? There is only one situation I can think of where I would leave and that is if some sort of government troops are collecting people to be placed somewhere else. No one is more concerned about me than me and because of that I will never let anyone force me into a "camp". Now normal marauders running around I will stay hidden but fight if need be to protect my life saving items. I think my biggest risk is being caught in town that is 20 miles away and I can make it home. Currency and precious metals are going to be useless until things settle down and by then some sort of government will be put in place. What people should have to barter is food, medicine or feel good items like alcohol. A person who is starving or sick isn't going to want silver or gold for what they have. If you look at alcohol sales it tends to go up as people begin to having a rough time. I remember an article where alcohol sales skyrocketed in the first years of the recession. And as far as bartering ammunition I do not believe it will be as important to most as most tend to believe. People are not going to running around getting in gunfights every day and as far as hunting goes a bow is a much better tool. The reason is nothing says there is a human present like a gun shot and it will attract unwanted attention. The only way I would consider using a gun to hunt in a true life and death situation is if it has a silencer. With practice even a 22, with a silencer, can be effective at keeping people away without letting them know your location. -

I would not worry about rust, at least not more than normal. -

If you buy the scope I believe it comes with a free app download. Even if it doesn't the same program is available online for free. -

I would suggest finding one WITHOUT the memory groove/pad normally found on most grip safeties. -
TN Anti-Gun State Rep Indicted On Federal Charges
Dolomite_supafly replied to Oh Shoot's topic in General Chat
Not going to happen. Too many other representatives who have probably broken the same laws to allow that to happen. That is why we do not see anyone being held accountable in Washington, if they decide to hold one accountable then they will have to hold the majority accountable. They will never be held accountable for breaking the law by those who are also breaking the law. We are a country ran by a bunch of criminals who know they will NEVER be held accountable for their illegal, and unethical, activities because those who would hold them accountable are also a bunch of criminals. And up until relatively recently it was only widespread in Washington but now it appears that we have a bunch of criminals at the local level as well. I wish those who have been convicted of violating the public's trust would be punished to death. I wonder how many would run their position if that were the case. -
Yeah, the mold is likely not useable any longer, at least not as is in the pictures. The reloading dies are probably not useable or repairable. ANY amount of rust inside a set of dies will ruin the brass and the rust is impossible to remove. It is really pretty sad because if it weren't for all the rust there that lot would easily bring enough for a nice firearm. Now there is not much there that is worth anything. You might be able to sell the handles on the molds, they would probably bring $10-$15 each if the wood isn't bad and they are not seized up. They must have sat for a while in standing water.

You MUST size new brass. It is rarely, if ever, sized new from the factory. They are intentionally left long so people can size them to their individual rifles.
