  1. We hit Panera. It was more about visiting our grand daughter than eating.
  2. Prefer to be walking distance to the Aquarium.
  3. The hammer fired LC9 sucks. The trigger pull is heavy and long, even for a defensive DAO gun but that isn't the worst of it. The trigger has a false reset that will cause you problems. After you fire you begin releasing the trigger and about 1/2 way forward you get a very distinct "click". I assumed that was the trigger resetting g but it isn't. If you try to pull the trigger after the first "click" the gun does nothing. You must continue to release it until you hear the second "click", that is the real trigger reset. She I first got it home I did a function check and thought the gun was broke. But after some research I realized that is the way it is. Then it struck me that not only does it suck but that is a safety issue. Imagine a new shooter firing it the not realize the first "click" is not the actual reset. They think the gun has malfunctioned and release the trigger all the way making it ready to fire when it appears to have suffered a malfunction. I have been begging my wife to get another pistol but she is reluctant to get rid of her nickeled and engraved LC9. The LC9s is a great gun. The pro has a little too light of a trigger to be without a manual safety.
  4. Fears of loosing their allies in Syria would be the easy answer. I would also like to believe this, as well as Ukraine, is in response to the U.S. conducting "exercises" along the border of western Russia with armored vehicles. We have been poking the bear for a very long time and I think we have finally woke it up. Hope it just goes back to sleep but I suspect this will escalate and when it does everyone on both sides will be in for a world of hurt.
  5. Oh and don't think my statement before means I would stand idly by as I watch others die. I can guarantee I would fight to the death to prevent me, or anyone else, from being murdered.   This is why you must ALWAYS have a means to defend yourself no matter where you are.   No matter what people may think you cannot talk your way out of something like this.
  6. I can, without a doubt, say I would NEVER admit to be part of any group a killer is looking for. Honor and faith is good and all but I would rather keep my mouth shut and survive than proudly proclaim something that gets me killed. No way I would ever martyr myself if I had another choice.
  7. If you don't mind a SAO the Sig P238 is hard to beat. Great trigger, short reset, easy to rack (especially one handed) and very small. Only down side is it does have a manual safety that needs to be disengaged before firing. With you coming from a Glock it might not be the best choice though because it would require a lot of time training to get your muscle memory to remember to disengage the safety before firing.   Why not just get a Glock 42?
  8. You must really wear a tight belt. I wear a belt every day and I could easily squeeze a gun between my pants and my body.
  9. +1   ANY conflict between Putin and Obama will result in Obama cowering yet again. On the plus side maybe Putin can force Obama to lift the sanctions so we can get cheap AKs again.
  10. I would take my chances without a firearm before I would risk loosing my freedom. You are more at risk from the government than from traditional bad guys. Your odds of getting in trouble are probably higher than becoming a victim of a crime.
  11. Scary times we live in.   We have had armored vehicles driving around just across the border from Russia or Russian interests for the last few years. We have been poking the bear way too long for them NOT to do something and I think the Russians going into Syria is part of that something. I just hope if the Russians do decide to do something that we do what we have been doing for a while and let it slide, at least for now. But I can see Obama doing something totally out of character in order to pick a fight so he can continue the systematic destruction of the US. Or perhaps all this was planned out last election when Obama asked Putin's mouthpiece for more time.   Personally I do not believe the Russians are in Syria to help fight ISIS. I believe the Russians are in Syria to ensure THEY can control the country if we are successful in removing Assad. Makes one wonder what the Russians will do to prevent Assad from being toppled. Putin is an old school domination type Russian so he will try to gather as much property as he can for Russia while he is in office.   The EU will not get involved and definitely will not choose the US over Russia because Russia supplies the vast majority of Europe's energy needs. The EU knows that if they piss off Russia Putin will cut off the EU's supply of energy in a heartbeat. He has already threatened it and is forcing countries to pay in advance for their energy when those countries are not supporting Russian plans. And with winter coming those threats to turn off the spigot hold a lot more weight.    Just yesterday Russia started dropping bombs after claiming it will fight ALL terror in the region. The first set of bombs from Russia were not against ISIS/ISIL targets but against those who oppose Assad regime, including US backed and trained fighters. So, what will be our response to OUR allies being attacked?   No matter how this plays out I can see a lot of bad things happening between the US and Russia. We want Assad out of Syria and Russia wants Assad to remain in Syria, what could possibly go wrong?
  12. Call the manufacturer of the piston kit and see what they recommend. I am sure they answer this question all the time.
  13. But doesn't the 380 have a smaller stature? I thought the 380 was smaller than an LC9 and if so that would draw me because it would be so small for a 9mm.
  14. Yeah. It is on my short list of things to buy now.
  15. This is thinking out of the box and in return I believe they have created one of the best solutions out there for concealed carry, especially those who wear dress clothes every day. Easy access for you while making it virtually impossible for anyone else to get and without the need for retention devices that can slow down your draw. It also removes a lot of the issues with standard holsters and it also protects your firearm from the damaging effects of body fluids such as sweat or oil. Here is a video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-hcS5hpMCM&feature=player_embedded
  16. By the way what he portrayed as an actor has nothing to do with him in real life. He was actually a great guy doing a lot for the less fortunate.
  17. If you grease the rim of the tire it will help it seal if there are gouges or bends or dings in the rim.   What kind of car?   Maybe one of us here have some old wheels and tires that might fit or at least a wheel.
  18. Yeah, it has ALWAYS sucked as far as bandwidth goes. Doesn't matter who's account or what is being opened it is guaranteed to take exactly 3 seconds too long.
  19. Mike is a great guy and a true asset to the TGO community.
  20. At least they are trying, to save the world that is.
  21. The 4473 has no bearing on what the firearm is classed at. ATF has stated that lowers WITH a stock is not considered a rifle because it is lacking the upper despite the fact most FFLs will try to transfer as a rifle.
  22. If the lower was a rifle first it must always remain a rifle. If it is a pistol first it can go back and forth providing it is never assumed into an NFA item. If you have a barrel less than 16" on a lower WITH a stock you have made an illegal firearm unless you have paid your $200 tax to build it.
  23. Yeah. I ask if they are a resident and if they are prohibited from owning firearms. If they answer correctly and I don't get a bad vibe then I go through with the sale. I will NEVER sell anything to anyone unwilling to talk on the phone. I also write the phone number on my hand as well as their plate number as I do a drive by before actually pulling in. That way if anything happens at least LE will have a place to start. That is for complete strangers. For TGO members with a post count I take the money and hand them the gun unless I get a bad vibe. BTW, I have never got a bad vibe or refused to sell to anyone on TGO. And the people I have refused to sell to are those who won't talk on the phone or had a bad vibe about them. But legally all you have to do is take money and hand over the gun unless you have reason to believe they cannot own a firearm. BTW, certain misdemeanors can prevent ownership of firearms. I quit asking if people are felons and started asking if they are prohibited.
  24. Yep, both joined on the same day. I think I can sort by day joined. I will try to find others from our day or week.
