Traveler's Insurance lies to the victims of accidents.
Dolomite_supafly replied to Ebow1's topic in General Chat
Lawyer up, I am not sure how new your car is but you can sue for depreciation of the value of the automobile if it is reasonably new. No matter how well it was fixed it will still show up on a Carfax report as being involved in an accident. This is going to affect resale as well as trade in value. As far as the wages I can't see why they would not own you the money. If you had to get a rental they owe you for that as well. Dolomite -
A lot of times what happens is they make a small purchse to make sure the card is good. For me I would see Itunes purchases for $1. In one day we had 5 $1 purchases pending on my wife's card. We went to the bank and cancelled the card that day preventing them from making those as well as any other deductions. Another way they often check is donating $1 to different non profits. If it goes through then the bad guys know the card is good. After that they either sell the info, which is safer for them, or they start charging. If they are getting goods they generally have it sent to an address of someone else then intercept it before the homeowner gets home by grabbing it off the porch. A friend of mine had someone take his info and setup a PayPal account using the info. After that they transferred a metric ton of money from made up PayPal account to other PayPal accounts. He contacted local LE but because of the complexity of all the transfers as well as the PayPal accounts being out of state and even out of country there was nothing he could do. He contacted PayPal and they could only offer to return the money from the shill accounts if they money was still in them. By that time though, the shill accounts had been emptied. Crooks are ingenious with how they will steal your money. By the time LE figures out the current trend they have already moved onto another. It is only the stupid crooks that get caught. The cost of identity theft last year is estimated at 54 billion, with a "B" and shows no signs of slowing. The biggest problem is with sentencing. Because no one is physically hurt most sentences are very light. We had a local lady who stole $60,000 through the use of gift cards, not really identity theft but still theft that wasn't violent. Her sentence was 3 years unsupervised probation. She is expected to pay back the money but she won't because she won't go back to work now, citing mental anguish over her getting caught. I knew her, talked to her and would have never suspected her of it but she plead guilty to all of the charges. Dolomite

"rumrill" "nj" - Yahoo! Search Results Might try calling these people see if they know a Raymond. Here is a list of Raymond Rumrill, most are in the NJ are so I bet one of them is the culprit. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=first%3A%22raymond%22+last%3A%22rumrill%22+&fr=php-phon The name is very unique so I am sure either the links know who the guy is, the guy is in the second link or quite possibly Raymond Rumrill had his identity stolen as well to facilitate the theft from you. I had my info stolen as well back in 2007. A few charges from a few places with a delivery address as well as contact numbers given for turds who stole the info. Problem was because of privacy rights I wasn't allowed to get the info of those who fraudulently used my info. I filed a police report and was reimbursed but I could never get their info. Btw, they were in TX. I was told only a LE could get the info for the turds but the detectives never did anything after the police report. They were called numerous times about the issue, leaving mesages but never got a response regarding criminal charges. The bank is out the money which in turn increases the fees for everyone. I would have paid for a plane ticket for LE to go get the turds and a return trip for both. That way the turd would have had to find their own way home so they are inconvienced by the whole thing the same way I was. Dolomite

Call Predator Custom in Knoxville. They are at the end of Papermill Rd. They will likely have a flat top upper as well as be able to swap it out for a reasonable amount of money. They have done a lot of work for me in the past and have always surprized me with how reasonable they are. They are great guys as well. If all you are wanting to do is swap the upper is simple. You might need to buy a receiver block if you want to try yourself but I suspect by the time you consider the cost in both parts and your time Predator will be cheaper. Dolomite

I am not too worried about the fish. I would hate to have something happen to our cats or dogs, all of which regularly drink from the pond. Dolomite

Are either of these harmful to animals? The reason I ask is every algae killer I have bought says not safe for use around animals or humans. I will not risk my dogs or cats. I have asked every store dealing with pond type stuff and nobody can confirm or will deny that they will seriously harm or kill animals. Thanks Dolomite

I am going to call his family and friends to hopefully get a location. I have never spoke to them before. Hopefully my friend got around to the part where we became good friends. Most who knew us both still believe we were still at eachother's throats. I can honestly say I am a better person for knowing him. The day I found out he died was, without a doubt, one of my worst ones. It is easier now but I still think about him regularly. Dolomite

In short, no. There are better choices out there for not much more. Message sent with links that might help you decide. Dolomite

I wouldn't post your intentions here. Even if you didn't do it some POS attorney could make it sound as though your were trying to entice someone to enter just so you can shoot them. It would change a legitimate self defense shooting into something totally different and with the cost of defending yourself it could cost you everything even if you did win the criminal case. U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade
Dolomite_supafly replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is the guide for gun legislation put out by the UN: http://www.undp.org/cpr/documents/sa_control/SALWGuide_Legislation.pdf United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs: United Nations Disarmament -strengthening Peace and Security through Disarmament It would be hard to believe that the UN would have a special division just for disarmament if that is not what they are wanting to do to the world. Their plans are laid out on the website. Now we haven't signed anything but if we do, it is a very scary thought. At that point, I feel, the .gov could use the UN treaty as an excuse to take our guns. They will shift the blame away from themselves and towards the UN. We are definitely headed for some rough times in our near future. Not just weapons related stuff but society as a whole. Too many people are getting too much for free when they shouldn't be while the working class are forced to support them. At some point the bill becomes too much for the working class to anymore and that is when society is going to start the inevitable downward spiral. Unless something is done to change this we are going to find ourselves, like many other countries, in a state of turmoil that will not easily be overcome. I told my son that he may see it in his lifetime but with all the recent financial as well as legislative activity I suspect it may happen in mine. Another problem with society is there has been a shift in how laws are being used. They are no longer viewed as a means to better society or to keep people safe but as a means to generate revenue. 90% of the laws on the books need to be replealed then the 10% that are left need to be enforced. Sorry to hear about your gun being stolen. Is it your only gun you have for self defense? If I am going to be off my property the cameras are turned on and recording. Like everyone else my place stays locked up tight, even when I am home. Anytime I go outside I have a firearm on me, even to the mailbox or just sitting on my porch. Liars and thieves are the worst, unfortunately my brother and father both seem to have picked up those traits. My brother also has a nasty oxy/meth habit and has tried to kill me twice now because I refuse to give him any more cash. Whenever he runs out of money or thing to sell he goes on a tirade. Last October I had SWAT sitting in the creek in front of my house while LE were looking for my brother as he was heading to my house with a AK. Since then I ALWAYS have some sort of firearm on me or within 5 feet. He recently began stealing our mother's checks and writing them to himself causing her account to be overdrawn. I hope they catch the slimy POS who stole your stuff. Too bad they don't have the same sentencing requirements as when someone steals from a FFL. If they did a lot of firearms thefts would not happen. Dolomite

All I know is TN. It is where a friend's ashes have been laid. We hated each other in the beginning then became the best of friends. I loved the man more than my own brother or father. He and I went through a lot while overseas, some good and some bad. He was from Florida but loved TN so much he was going to move here. Unfortunately he was killed overseas in April, 2009. Had I not been in my helicopter accident a year earlier there would have been a good chance I would have been with him, possibly suffering the same fate. Because I was out of the loop I didn't know he had been killed so I missed his funeral and the spreading of his ashes. Working with people who go overses you don't worry or think anything is out of the ordinary if the person does not answer their phone for a month or two at a time. I just need to go by there and say my goodbyes. Dolomite

Someone has got to know where this bridge is. Not going to get into great detail why but if anyone knows where it is located I would really appreciate it. Thanks Dolomite

ATF will thin the mixture. It also is considered a detergent type lubricant so it will loosen certain crud like a solvent. I made a batch similar to this last year and it works well. Dolomite

I grabbed a copy. Thanks Dolomite

The tickets in Knoxville are signed off by cadets or at least the two I received were. I got to thinking about it and a member of the Explorers, that probably isn't old enough to carry a gun yet, is doing the review of the video the signing off if they think it is a valid infraction. I can say that in both cases I did run the red lights and paid the fines. You can view the pictures taken as well as video of you running the lights before paying. They are online and the tickets give you the access code to view them. My wife laughed at me over them. I think they do "some" good but are no where near as good as having a patrol visible at the intersection. And to those who drive impaired the cameras do absolutely nothing to prevent it or catch an impaired driver, only a patrol officer can do that. Dolomite

I would prefer a spiked club about the same size as a T ball bat. The spikes being about 1" long so they do not get stuck in bone as easily. Secondary would be a nice quality well balanced knife. Dolomite

I have called 911 and followed a car that was driving VERY erratically. I was on the phone walking in the LE until they were able to initiate a stop. I have done it for people who were going obscenely fast as well, giving a street and direction as well as a description of the car. At most they will ask a name when you are making a complaint like this. It didn't really matter because I was calling from my cell so they had all the info they needed. Dolomite

This isn't going to end well if LE isn't involved. As it stands right now he is using a rather mild tactic but at some point when that doesn't work he is going to become more frustrated then aggressive in his actions. By scaring him off constantly this is only speeding up the process. Do not confront him. Best thing to do is call LE or security without the bad guy knowing. Dolomite

Just to give everyone an update in a new thread incase people didn't want to look through the previos ones: I just spoke with Rex, from RK Shows, about what happened to me at the show. He was appologetic regarding the situation I had with security. He agreed that the security had no right to seize my property. He went on to say that this isn't the first problems he has heard of from the security firm. Part of the contract for the Expo center was that the Expo center mandates what security that is going to be used for his shows. He went on to say that he is going to set up a meeting to discuss the security situation to try to get it resolved and if not it will be part of the contract for next year. His call was greatly appreciated and he is making things right for me because of the problems I had at one of his shows. I will say he has a lifetime customer because of how he handled this and I will be recommending his shows to anyone who asks. Again, Rex is a standup guy. The LE thing was all explained away in the original thread. Basically a LE friend of mine mentioned it was probably another LE agency but I later found out it wasn't. It was all cleared up in the original thread. I admit when I am wrong, I don't have a problem with that. Read the original thread and you can see that. I based it on a current LE who has worked the shows in the past. I figured if anyone would know who took his side job he would. I am farthest thing from a cop hater. Hell, the last one who came to my house got a red dot for his AR because he didn't have sights or anything else on it. He brought it in and I asked about sights. He said he didn't get issued any and that he guess he would walk it in if he had to use it. I stopped an auction early and gave him the red dot and we stood on my front porch and zeroed it. I always offer to help LE, with equipment and anything else I can. I worked in LE and know how bad it sucks trying to buy gear on your own dime when that dime is pretty small. I have already contacted the appropriate department in Nashville. I have my course of action already mapped out and all I am waiting for now is a response from RK. He puts on great shows and I don't want to have the uneducated security guards affect that but when I was told it was the show promoter/owner who gave the go ahead to seize people's personal property that is where I place blame. I just want to see how he makes it right for me as well as others and that it doesn't happen again. I was also told, I still need to verify this, that if the security guards were indeed unlicensed and they broke the law the employer is responsible as well because the guards are working as an agent of the employer. The employer can be held responsible for what his agents did as if he did the crime himself. I will try to verify this. Dolomite

I agree with the policy 100% and feel it is needed for everyone's safety because accidents do happen. What I don't agree with is someone taking something that belongs to me without justification or the authority to do so. Had they allowed me to take it to my car I wouldn't have had a problem but because of the actions of the security guards I have been denied the use of my personal property. Dolomite
-
Before we do that we need to see what the response will be from RK. He puts on good shows unfortunately not all security guards act in a professional manner. I bet that if these guards had paid for the licensing as well as the shoot fees associated with getting their security guard license they wouldn't do what they did to jeopardize it, to me or anyone else. I was in a helicopter accident in June of 2008. I can no longer work or do a lot of things I used to do so I can definitely devote my time to resolving this. I am not pissed so much as I am sick and tired of people overstepping their boundries. One thing I will not do is lay down when I know I am right. Dolomite
