  1. They are not required to tell you the truth at anytime during an investigation. They can say anything at all so long as it forwards the investigation. They can lie and make all the promises they want but unless it is written down it means nothing. You would be surprised what LE can actually do. I have seen people held for 48 hours without a call, attorney or outside contact during an investigation. They would be interviewed within the first couple of hours and then locked in a holding cell for the next 3 days without any further contact with anyone including investigators. They were not booked into the system so they wouldn't show up in the population of the jail. Then as the time got close to 72 hours the investigators would walk them out to the street and release them. During this time family members would call to report a missing person after they had called all the local hospitals looking for them. We couldn't let them know their family member was in custody. 2. Glad the officer(s) came out physically ok. They are going to have a rough time of it mentally I am sure. The officer(s) are going to get sued for wrongful death by the family of the shoplifter. It almost always happens but KPD will provide them with legal help. Even when it gets thrown out it still takes months of stress of having that hanging over your head. I am worried about a knee jerk reaction by Walmart now. Hopefully they don't change their HCP policy over this. Seems like any time something like this happens corporate policy is to ban firearms not realizing it only makes the store less safe. Dolomite
  3. I watched a show the other day that had an individual go step by step through the shake and bake process. Pretty amazing how easy it really is. And there is no way we are going to curb the cooking unless we outlaw one of the main ingredients. Dolomite
  4. Randy's Guns and Knives has the largest selection of 22 ammo anywhere within 100 miles. They are located on Broadway in Fountain city. They aren't the cheapest but they hav the largest selection. Dolomite
  5. +1 We had a remote eletrical meter put in after an incident involving a meter reader. We have told him a couple of times already to honk when he enters the property. The day he didn't our dogs went after him and kept him from making it back to his truck. My wife told them to go back inside as the meter reader swung a stick wildly at them. Had she not noticed something was amiss the meter reader would have had a very bad day. Dolomite
  6. I watched and even bid in the last big gun auction they had. Prices went pretty high on most. There were a couple of deals though. Dolomite
  7. Is that the ID of the ring or the OD of the sized brass? I need the ID of the ring so I can make my own. Thanks Dolomite
  8. I asked for the thread to be closed. Nothing more positive can be gained by letting it remain alive. Hopefully the owner will come in before that happens and try to salvage his reputation within this large group. He does have some dedicated customers by the number of PM's and emails I have received. I understand everyone is living in hard, stressful times right now. But responding to a potential customer the way he did speaks volumes and doesn't help. I wish the shop best wishes but I will not be a patron based solely on my very first interaction with them. What we do not need is less shops right now and hopefully this will not lead to that. If it does there is but one person to blame and that person is the one who wrote the belittling email. Dolomite
  9. Fitting an ambi safety is going to be the same as fitting it to any other standard 1911. Dolomite
  10. You are probably right. I only saw one person with an AR the entire time I was there. That was the person I spoke to. My wife came back for a few minutes to use the restroom (if that is what you want to call it) and I noticed another person with what appeared to be an AR on the bench. I couldn't stop, that may have been you. They were parked in front of a white car. My offer still stands though if you want to get together sometime. As far as a way to identify each other I recommend a brand on the forehead. Dolomite
  11. The biggest problem with the RUssian stuff is the velocity. I have chronographed several and all are low powered. I can't remember all of them but I know out of a 16" AR the 55 grain Tula ran about 2,850 fps and Wolf was even slower. In a brand new gun this can cause issues but in a well used and lubed gun there should be no issues. I would say buy a few hundred rounds to try out before buy a case. You should do this anyways to try to find what shoots best out of your gun anyways. I know Tula in my gun shoots 2"-3" at 100 yards while my reloads run <.75". Dolomite
  12. I was the one who let you pull the trigger on my gun and offered the trigger job on your AR. If your trigger is using a factory hammer and trigger you may have issues light strikes on hard primered ammo. The trigger felt light but if the hammer spring has been bent or a leg chopped off to get your trigger to feel like that you may have problems. It almost felt like the hammer spring was installed backwards (yes it is possible) or a leg shopped off. It could be a two stage but honestly it didn't feel like it. If we meet again I don't mind taking a look even if you don't want my kit installed. And being new to the platform I'll show you some of the things to look for as far as maintanence issues go as well as let you know what items you need to keep on hand to keep it running with the minimal amount of downtime. The AR platform is a very versatile platform that does many things well. The best part about them is you can build or change it to suit your needs or wants. Dolomite
  13. Hey Murgatroy. If you want I can set your chamber back on the stock barrel when you are ready. I have done about a dozen or so now and all have shown improvement. I am not comfortable doing the crown with what I have but the chamber setback it a no brainer. I really need to get a crowning tool but have put it off because I would never use it on my stuff and I generally don't work on others stuff. Dolomite

  15. +1 Have always liked how they do things. ANd honestly there are times when other palces are cheaper but knowing Larry IS a shooter is why I support him and his business. Dolomite
  16. I was there and left about 1pm. Not a lot of people there when I left. Had a rough night and a rough week so I wasn't really in the mood. Got another 100 rounds through the Saiga to test another magazine. Dolomite
  17. There are some new digital NV scopes out there. They compare with GEN3+ and the most expensive ones are a little over $1,000. You can buy a decent one for under $300 that will work as well as most GEN 2 traditional scopes. Plenty of info on google: https://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab&hl=en&source=hp&q=digital+night+vision&pbx=1&oq=digital+night+vision&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=6656l11843l0l13484l20l3l0l0l0l0l1297l2359l7-2l2l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=756fe63c7c87b84&biw=1024&bih=553 Dolomite
  18. Stresses of the holidays that are coming. Dolomite
  19. I was not the one who mentioned your shop here. It was another who had a negative experience that ID'd your shop From the beginning I kept your business name out of this thread, the public eye and it was others who figured it out. Afterall there is more than just a couple of gun shops in Seymour. As far as dealing with me I have not had any contact, email or otherwise, from the shop or any representative. I did not start this day looking for anything other than to buy a firearm. Unfortunately it is ending on a sour note for all parties involved. Dolomite
  20. I have shot several and for the money they are great. Something else to realize is it allows shooters to get into the 1911 platform without having to go broke like was the case 5 years ago. And I would wager most people who own 1911's bought an economical model the first time even if $1,000 was the economical choice when they did. These people who buy the RIA's and like 1911's are same people that are likely to upgrade to more expensive models. Dolomite
  21. And the reason why I linked a competitor is to show the competitors pricing. The reason is when you tell someone that you have found it cheaper somewhere else their first question almost always is "where?" or "prove it". So I almost always provide a link if the item I am interested in is cheaper somewhere else. I do this to stop the back and forth emails that follow as well as gauge the seller before meeting them. I have even done this to people on here, some chose a new lower price and some don't. Either way it doesn't upset me because it is their choice to sell an item and for what price. And as everybody who knows me knows I try to haggle the price on almost anything. And sometimes people refuse and sometimes they accept or in most cases we meet somewhere in the middle. Dolomite
  22. Well that puts a damper on my enthusiasm. I won't buy a gun I can't shoot. Dolomite
  23. ORSA probably or maybe find a local piece of land. Dolomite
  24. Started out looking at 338 Lapuas but because I actually shoot a lot it would be cheaper to get something in 50 BMG. If I do get a 50 it will be bolt action and magazine fed. I got to looking at prices of ammo the other day and found surplus 50 for 1.60 a round. May not be the most accurate stuff but it would be accurate enough. Dolomite
